Newbie TTC 2021 club!

Hi girls - looking for a little crew to share the ttc journey with - we are newbies this year - decided on Jan 31st to start trying after 12 years together! but had literally just missed my ovulation day for that cycle, so even though we had some fun over NY we are properly starting next cycle around the end of the month - just have to wait to finish this cycle now, and I've never wanted a period to come so quickly haha!

So - any cycle sisters out there who will be trying with me on or around end of Jan? I'm Cd21 right now.

And feel free to share stories and ages!

I'm 34 and have been off the pill for about 2 years now - we don't really use protection just pull out lol and never had a scare so I'm a little worried we could have a bit of a long journey. Although my mum conceived me first time trying so I'm praying it's in the genetics lol!

Not sure about you but I'm already getting obsessed which seems to be pretty normal lol but it would be good to have some pals to talk to rather than my cat or my husband, who I think I could quite quickly freak out if he knew just how many mum'snet threads I've read!

Also... What are you most looking forward to being pregnant?

Hey everyone! 6dpo today and I think I may have implantation bleeding!! It's kinda pink with specks, not at all like period. I don't know when AF is due as it's my first month off mini pill but I'll test in a few days I guess!

@Aubyone I’m at a similar place! Thinking that I’m ovulating yesterday/today/tomorrow. OPKs looking good as well as EWCM. Waiting/hoping temp will confirm soon, though still unsure as only my second more regulated cycle since coming on the pill in November. Had a little tiny amount of blood streaked EWCM too which is new but I’ve read it’s really fertile so who knows? We have DTD every day for the last 6 days so hoping my NC app/OPKs/CM is right just for a break 😂

Not looking toward to the TWW, I’m very impatient 😂😂

Following this as am also TTC first month of trying properly we had a miscarriage in 2019 and am 3 DPO AF isn’t due until 6th Feb and this TWW is absolutely killing me!

Is any one currently in their TWW?

Oh so sorry @Fifi1086 - so annoying to have our bodies play tricks on us. Well, an early AF means sooner to try again for this cycle. Is this your first month ttc - I can't remember sorry!

@KLR2019 Welcome! There are lots of newbie ttc's this month, and some ladies who have had a little more experience - but all very supportive - and our first BFP announcement in the last few days too! I'm only on CD10, so tracking for ovulation and about to start getting down to business, so maybe us ladies earlier in our cycle can keep you entertained with our OPK''s and tracking while you patiently wait over the next 12 days! Then you can keep us entertained with a BFP hopefully while we wait! Will be excited to see what happens for you! xx

I'm using my OPK's digital ones - plus trackng my BBT - had a slight uptick in temp this morning, but a plain circle on OPK so nothing there and no ewcm yet either, but getting so excited that hopefully ovulation is approaching. I'm obsessed watching baby videos on insta etc gahhh.

I also feel totally left out of my friendship group as everyone currently either has a baby or is pregnant and I feel like I have nothing to contribute and everything they say just makes me so hopeful that we get a BFP in a couple of weeks!

Anyone else the last one in their group of friends to have a baby?

I'm surprised your OPK said you ovulated on CD15!!! I'm between 26 and 28 days for my cycles so taking the average of 27 days my OPK clear blue digital one said to start on CD7 lol - so CD15 does seem late for a shorter cycle! Bet you're glad you took the OPK now! I would have assumed it had passed at CD15 too! Will be interesting to see what happens with mine now... Did you get ewcm at any point?
I'm 34 now so just on the cusp of worrying that I've left it too late. Hopefully not! How old are you? xx

@Wondergirl1111 I don't actually know anymore if it was AF, it's basically gone and it went from pink to red briefly then dark brown now gone 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes first time ttc and I'm also 34! I don't think we are past it just yet, although I've an 11 year old who likes to remind me just how old i am!

Hi ladies, wanted to join you all as I'm TTC #1 first cycle and feel so out of my depth with all the right knowledge! I think I'm 1 DPO but this is my first time tracking things so not too sure. I got a positive OPK yesterday afternoon but negative a few hours later and negative again today. I'm CD12 of roughly 26 day cycles but have been DTD every day since CD10. Hoping that's right? Today I've had some strange cramping and bloating but very mild- not too sure what that's all about? X

@Fifi1086 still in the game then! How many days did the spotting last for? How many days DPO are you... you think you'll take a test?
Hooray for another 34 year old! I don't think we're past it either - my sister in law got pregnant first month trying at 38 so I feel positive for us!

@roxybear welcome! All looks great - exciting times! I'm TTC first cycle too - but we're all figuring it out together here so you are in the right place! I don't like to diagnose for other people lol but cramping could possibly maybe be implantation cramps? Might be worth googling! I'm using OPK for first month too - seems like it can be easy to miss the peak in hormones so looks like you just caught it yesterday afternoon! xx

Also - I'm currently drinking grapefruit juice as it's meant to help increase ewcm!

@Wondergirl1111 just less than 2 it's just finished, very odd. I'll test this weekend but mainly just to rule it out before I start opks again! I would be 8dpo today so it was early for a period. Either way, if it is AF it'd be my first one since off the pill so that's also a good sign. It just doesn't seem like AF.. my periods while not on the pill are unpleasant to say the least!!

I'm on CD14 and still no positive on OPK! Starting to worry that I maybe don't ovulate 🙄 will keep testing this week🤞🏼

@Wondergirl1111 defiantly hopefully we will all get BFP soon. Am in the same situation my friends are all on there 3rd baby and the only baby I have is my dog 😂 my twin sister also has a baby too so pressure is on!

I feel like I haven’t done it enough like how much is enough am also taking vitamins to try and help move stuff along and as for CP I have no idea what am feeling for I can feel it but I don’t no what’s good and what’s bad.

When will you be due your next AF? Xxx

Apart from the hubby have no one else to discuss these things with and he's not overly interested in the whole timing thing but loving the increased days of DTD 🤣 I'm literally googling every slight symptom or scenario which makes me feel totally crazy but I literally can't help myself 🤣 suddenly everything around you and about you becomes noticeable when TTC doesn't it. I'll prob start googling "my cat being overly friendly towards me, does this mean I'm pregnant" soon 🙄🤣🤦‍♀️

@roxybear hahah! Omg 100% the same! I guess as it's our bodies we're a little more invested at the beginning stages than the husbands! obviously the only person you can really talk to about it is your other half as no one ever tells anyone they are trying, and once you've had a couple of chats you don't want to seem obsessed with something that hasn't even happened yet lol! So you just go crazy googling everything and symptom spotting and getting crazy excited all by yourself... the things I have googled... my husband would think I'm insane baby crazy lady!

I feel like everything on tv - shows, films adverts - everyone is pregnant!!! And the days go by so slowly waiting for each stage of your cycle!

@KLR2019 what vits are you taking? I've read brazil nuts are good for implantation! So will be munching on them soon! Next AF due valentines day... sexy! FINGERS CROSSED IT DOESN'T COME!

@Aims1991 - How long is your cycle usually? @ttcSam has quite a short cycle and ovulated on cd15 so there's still time!

@Fifi1086 that does sound very strange especially if your periods before you were on the mini pill weren't particularly short? I guess they could be slightly different after coming off - but strange to be so early too? Fingers crossed for you it wasn't AF - let us know what the test says when you do one - also how long were you on the pill for? xx

@Wondergirl1111 usually 28 days, last AF I was 4 days late, hoping still time. We've been DTD every day or other day anyway🤷🏻‍♀️

@Wondergirl1111 Well I went to the asda which is the only local place to me and they had none of the big brands the shelves was empty so I had to get there own brand but they have good reviews so giving them a try.

My next fertile period is from valentines am due on the 6th Feb hope I don’t get it! Am using Flo app it was recommended by my doctors after my MC and I’ve found it very helpful!

Am going to test 10DPO for my own sanity and pray AF doesn’t come 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@Wondergirl1111 absolutely! So strange the way our brains fixate on things when you want them! I'm pretty sure the cramping I have today is prob ovulation pain but firstly never ever had this before and secondly didn't even know it was a thing! Feel super bloated too and need to DTD again tonight so trying not to share my symptoms with hubby as it's not terribly sexy is it🤣 I've only told my close friends (2) that we've started trying but being pretty blasé about it. However, they know me too well to know I'm never blasé when I want something 🤣🤣🤣

After a 48 day cycle, AF finally arrived today... 3 BFN so did a little happy dance when AF arrived because it means we can start trying again and I can feel back in control a little!

I'm stalking this thread to see what you all make of the OPKs, as this is only my 2nd month trying, I've decided not to have a go on them yet. But super keen to see how you all get on with them! (so please keep posting about it!!)

I'm 34 like you @Wondergirl1111 and am also praying my eggs are still AOK, TTC our first🤞🏻 we had a 'trial run' DTD but only after I thought I'd ovulated so wasn't expecting anything, but was still a little bit disappointed when AF seemed to be making an appearance today. So now planning for CD1 tomorrow and trying to be positive 💪🏻 just ordered some Femometer OPKs as I already have the the themometer for BBT tracking so going to give that a go with the app. Plus we've got the delightfully named 'Pre-seed' so we're all set 😂

How is everyone else doing this eve?

Pre-seed sounds like something you do to your lawn doesn't it 🤣

Hi everyone, just catching up on the thread and it’s so nice to see so many newbies joining 😊 I’m feeling a bit low today I’m on CD 24 and still no sign of ovulation. I started using OPKs from CD 7 so feeling very disheartened. My last cycle was 45 days so I’m hoping there’s still a chance I’ll ovulate soon. This is my first month tracking ovulation so I have no clue if this is normal. It’s so hard to stop your mind thinking there’s something wrong! Does anyone else have irregular cycles?

Hey @DeeDee2021! I don't have experience of irregular cycles myself, it must be so frustrating and confusing, I really feel for you. It sounds like you could definitely still ovulate though if your cycle could be 45 days? Do you do BBT or anything or mainly OPKs? It must be so hard but keep going 💕

@HaresHoping WELCOME DARLING! Sounds like you're having a similar experience to me - we did a 'trial run' last cycle as we decided just after ovulated - so had a small hope but then the mothereffer of all AFs showed up - it's crazy how even when you know there's little chance how disappointing it can be. I'm a little worried about how I might take it this cycle if we really try and then it doesn't happen still - which is of course a reality! I think the best thing is being able to talk about it all with people who are gong through the same thing right now, and keeping your life filled with other wonderful things in the 'inbetween' times when we're just waiting for our next turn on the merry-go-round lol!

@DeeDee2021irregular and long cycles sound even more frustrating - but it also sounds as if there is still time for ovulation this cycle! Stay positive! xxx @StressyLady also mentioned yesterday she has just had a 48 day cycle so perhaps she has some words of wisdom for you xxx

@stressylady I'll let you know how my first experience of OPK goes this cycle - I started CD7 as instructions stated for a 27 day cycle - and I'm on CD11 now - still negative results, but CD11 last cycle ewcm showed up so I'll be interested to see what happens too. I'm on WOOM, Flo, and Natural cycles apps and WOOM is saying I'm ovulating today... NC says Sunday lol! each app says something different, so again will be interesting to see what happens! @hareshoping I'm measuring BBT too as I had the thermometer - I'm seeing a slight uptick in temp last two ldays (CD10 AND 11) which is interesting! Have you noticed a pattern there?

ps @roxybear I'm so with you - one day can be totally unfussed about something, then decide I want it the next and I can't function! Perhaps it's this amazon culture we've found ourselves in haha! xx
