No idea how we managed to smash through 1,000 messages (40% of them are probably me anyway, ha!) in such a short space of time, but a new thread is needed for the post pill TTC party, so here it is...

Tag anyone I've forgotten please, and new party-goers always welcome :)

Sorry to hear that @mrsmacmc 😞

MancMama39 · 21/10/2020 08:16

Sorry @mrsmacmc, hoping next month is your month X

MintGreenLife · 21/10/2020 08:39

@Kay00 urgh I know, how silly! Well as far as we are aware it's never flooded, at least not in recent years (it's Georgian). We have to get multiple additional surveys for the purpose of our mortgage, so we've asked that they are booked in within the next week (we've said we're not paying for them, which is a risky move but we can't afford to spend more money and have it not go through), so I guess we will find out more about the knotweed once the survey has been done.

@ChinChilly Bridget Jones did help ☺️ I feel exhausted this morning though, this week is a bit of a write off so far with all the property stress!

@mrsmacmc sorry to hear that AF has arrived. I think I'm on around cycle 6 or something too, although my irregular cycles make it confusing for me to track properly 🤦🏻‍♀️ Here's hoping this month is our month xx

Guys I'm so upset :( I had cramps for a few hours yesterday evening, light not super painful but like they were definitely there. My temp dropped this morning and when I wiped first thing there was pale pink on the tissue, not loads but a decent amount. I think AF is here super super early and I'm so upset. Burst into tears and was pretty much inconsolable. DH has been lovely though, but I just feel so flat. @MintGreenLife I think I may have a short luteal phase too :( There was nothing when I wiped a second ago but I'll keep an eye on it today I guess. It's so hard as this is only my 2nd period post pill and the 1st was quite light and I didn't get cramping leading up to it, it just appeared, so that's weird. I guess there's a chance this could be IB but I just can't get my hopes up. Don't have any cramps this morning, aware of some feelings sort of in my lower abdomen. Anyone have any thoughts?

@mrsmacmc sorry to hear AF has shown for you too. Sending love xx

@MintGreenLife When we bought our house, it was an absolute nightmare! We did the survey but the people who we were buying off wanted a copy of it because we were asking them to finish a bit of work before we bought it and they didn't believe that the work needed finishing!! (We didn't) They were an awful couple and they didn't leave the place in a nice state, infact from when out offer was accepted I don't think they cleaned it at all, when we moved in it was a disgusting mess! So I hope it all goes a lot smoother for you!!

FTM94 · 21/10/2020 08:56

@TheHotelCalifornia do you think maybe it is just your body getting back to normal after the pill? Maybe next month your LP will be longer.. I'm not really sure how it works as this is all new to me and I am still learning but just going by what I've read on here so far. I've got my fingers crossed for you that maybe it was a little spotting and not a full AF! 🤞🏼 x

ChinChilly · 21/10/2020 08:57

@MintGreenLife glad it helped, sounds like your mentally exhausted at the moment, be kind to yourself have a glass of wine and some chocolate, atleast it is a distraction from TTC, albeit not a welcome distraction.

@TheHotelCalifornia sorry to hear AF might be on her way, fingers crossed for IB though, it would be around the right time.

@musicaljojo ours was a nightmare, it was previously rented for over 10 years, so there is sooo many bodged jobs, although when the last tennants moved out they did leave it spotless, but they took everything and I mean EVERYTHING! blinds, curtains poles the lot...the likelyhood of those blinds fitting another window is so slim...people are so odd!

MintGreenLife · 21/10/2020 09:08

@TheHotelCalifornia oh I really feel for you!! This was exactly me last week, honestly I wrote near enough the same thing...and my chart looked the exact same too! I'll post my chart last cycle to show you. I too burst into tears when I was I was spotting at 8DPO. Shall I send you a private message and we can have a chat? I've done lots of research into how to improve a short luteal phase and can share with you what I'm doing this cycle. So sorry, that's a horrible thing to happen xx

OP posts:
MintGreenLife · 21/10/2020 09:09

@TheHotelCalifornia oh also, this may put your mind at ease slightly, but apparently it's quite common to have a short luteal phase in your first two cycles off the pill, as the egg maturation process takes 3 months, so kind of makes sense. So maybe no need to take lots of supplements etc just yet?

OP posts:
MintGreenLife · 21/10/2020 09:12

@musicaljojo I really wouldn't be surprised if this place is a state if we finally do get the keys. This will be my third property and I thought the first two experiences were stressful, but this is much worse! We sent a rather lengthy email outlining exactly what we want to happen now, and for the sellers to agree to, and if they don't agree we will probably just have to call it quits. Hopefully we get an answer today so I can be put out of my misery, at least for a day or two before the next crap thing happens ha!

Sorry everyone, I've turned this thread into a property chat!! xx

@ChinChilly I'm totally going to have a duvet day this weekend, can't wait!

OP posts:
musicaljojo · 21/10/2020 09:32

Right, since this period is still a no show and a negative test...41 days...I'm ordering ovulation sticks so I can track it a little better, I know I've only been off the pill 5 months but I was hoping it would settle a bit quicker! I usually had a 36-38 day cycle before so not massively late just super frustrating!!

With the tests when is it the best time to do them? Do you have to do them at the same time each day?

Kay00 · 21/10/2020 10:22

@thehotelcalifornia im sorry AF might be in her way. I had a short 8 day LP in my 2nd cycle... and I panicked (perhaps unnecessarily in hindsight) so took lots of B6 and B12 vitamins in my 3rd cycle and it went up to 14 days. I think our cycles are just still settling post pill.

@musicaljojo hmmm... odd that you have had a no show of AF by day 41, but it sounds as though you have quite long cycles (like I do) so you might have ovulated late this month. I highly recommend the LH sticks... I test around midday and when I start getting a stronger line then I test at 4pm and again about 9/10pm. You don't produce LH overnight to its advised not to bother testing first thing but some women get strong lines in the morning so 🤷‍♀️😆

TheHotelCalifornia · 21/10/2020 10:30

@FTM94 it may be. That seems likely doesn't it. So hard to know! @ChinChilly thank you, I have cramps now and more blood so I'm pretty sure it's AF. Can't bring myself to update my apps though :(

TheHotelCalifornia · 21/10/2020 10:31

@MintGreenLife I would absolutely love that thank you so much!!! I keep crying on and off, feel so flat :( that does help knowing about the luteal phase though, need to get my research on!

musicaljojo · 21/10/2020 10:50

@Kay00 Thank you I shall look into those and get them bought. Last month I had a 42 day cycle so who knows what’s going on. I might give the GP a ring to see if I can get a blood test to just check all my levels but I don’t know if they will do anything yet.

Juno231 · 21/10/2020 11:00

@TheHotelCalifornia if it helps at all I do think it's possible you ovulated same day as your peak OPK! That would make it a 9 day LP I think? A bit better... Hugs though for having the ugly bitch show her face xx

7DPO today, still refusing to think too much about it. Normally I'd be itching to start testing in the next few days but I really want to try and wait until AF is due for once...

@MintGreenLife I hope it all gets sorted with your first choice house and that it was meant to be. A Georgian house would be the dream but I'm not sure I'll ever have the money for that 😅

mrsmacmc · 21/10/2020 11:23

@TheHotelCalifornia @MintGreenLife @MancMama39 @AMS19 @ChinChilly

Thanks ladies, honestly thought something had happened this month as been feeling 'different' Mother Nature is a sly sod!

Good distraction today in work as the police horses are in doing riot / crowd control training 🐴

Baby dust to all ❤️

MintGreenLife · 21/10/2020 11:42

@TheHotelCalifornia no worries, I'll send you a message in a min :)

@Juno231 the only reason we can afford it is because it's in a complete mess urgh. Really not sure how things are going to pan out, we're going to keep an eye out on the market anyway and carry on seeing stuff if needs be, only issue is we currently live two hours from where we are moving to, so that's not helping!

I guess just see how you feel in a few days. I've not yet got to a point where I can actually test yet ha, although I did waste a couple of FRERs in my first cycle off the pill, when I was all hopeful and excited lol x

Hi all, can I join?

This is my first month trying to conceive. I have a 4.5 yeah old DD with my exH and trying to conceive first with partner. I had a late loss with my first pregnancy, I conceive on the pill (!) and didn't realise I was pregnant until a doctors appointment for something else when I was 3 months gone. I conceived DD on the third cycle trying, but went all out with OPKs, temping, cervix checking - the works!

My partner and I decided to try recently, or at least not to prevent, although we've both got instantly obsessed with the idea of me getting pregnant so not as relaxed as intended!

I stopped taking my pill on 22/9 and had a withdrawal bleed for a few days starting 24/9. I haven't been using OPKs but dtd every 2/3 days all cycle and think I had a bit of EWCM on the 9/10. If that's the case I would be about 11 or 12 DPO but BFN yesterday on One step IC. Might be that my cycle is mayhem and I haven't ovulated at all? If cycle normal then AF should be due soon but no signs. Guess I'll just wait it out till end of the week and then maybe try a FRER?

AMS19 · 21/10/2020 12:21

@TheHotelCalifornia fingers crossed hun it isn't AF 🤞🤞🤞

ChinChilly · 21/10/2020 12:25

Has anybody had a peak OPK on the evening? I had a peak OPK last night the reading wasn’t as high as my last peak, this was around 19:30 so I didn’t test again until 11:30 today and its dropped back down, still showing high but obviously not as high, I’m guessing if I had tested again yesterday before I went to bed the peak would of been stronger? Should I mark yesterday as peak ovulation?

Trying4one · 21/10/2020 14:19

Hi ladies, I just want to give you all a update. I was having constant cramps all night so after seeing the GP this morning I went to hospital for a scan. Even though I am only 5 weeks, we could see the sac and the outline of the inner sac for the embryo. Having another scan in 2 weeks to check for a heartbeat ❤️ HCG was 2000
I hope things are going well for you @PumpkinEverything

PumpkinEverything · 21/10/2020 14:29

@ChinChilly I got my peak in the evening 😊 I’ve attached my chart so you can have a look. It stayed high for a little bit after that, but I’ve heard someone have their peak for a very short amount of time!

@Trying4one oh my goodness, that’s so exciting! Well I finally told my husband on Monday and he is absolutely over the moon. He really wasn’t expecting it at all so it was a complete shock. We went away for a one night stay that night and got back yesterday, so I finally tried to ring my GP today to find out she is off on Wednesdays 😂 so will call back tomorrow to see what I need to do next, as I honestly have no idea! I’m currently 5 weeks today if I go by my ovulation date as my LMP won’t work due to irregular cycles. Other than being bloated and gassy, the only real symptom I’ve had so far is that my boobs are sore to the touch. I give them a poke every so often to check they still hurt 😂

@PumpkinEverything Aww bless him. I think it is harder for men to take in as they are not the one growing the baby. My doctor didn't want to know when I called a few weeks ago but said I could call the midwife if I wanted to (as I will be high risk) and they told me to call back at 8 weeks. However I have noticed that all areas work differently and some you have to self refer to midwives and they will send you a booking appointment for at 8 weeks.
I am pretty gassy too and on off cramps still. But more tired then usual. I am wanting to keep the sickness well away from me as long as possible 🤣
