I think if there was a month I'd prefer to avoid, it would probably be December for obvious reasons.

claireb7rg · 20/09/2020 20:03

I was quite glad that I didn't seem to ovulate in April as well as it meant I avoided a January baby.

November would be another month I'd like to avoid as my parents birthdays are a week apart in the middle, my SIL is at the end and partners sister and nephew are early November and I'd prefer to avoid December for obvious reasons 😂😂

claireb7rg · 20/09/2020 20:07

Though this might all be a moot point in the end as partner said he isn't sure about ivf at the moment. He sees it as an interference and if it isn't meant to be naturally then it won't. But would consider adoption.

I'm not 100% sure about adoption, I'd prefer it to be biologically ours (or at least one of ours, if we needed a sperm donor) but we will have to see what the sub fertility clinic say. I'm a little concerned now that it seems to be twice in 6 months I don't appear to have ovulated or if I did this month it was very delayed.

😢

kirinm · 21/09/2020 07:32

I don't know much about adoption but there is an adoption board on here that might be worth reading?

MrsB2019x · 21/09/2020 08:22

I thought this too, then my EDD should have been 11th Dec and then decided I didn’t care because I was pregnant 😂 the thought did cross my mind that because it should’ve been my first I may have gone overdue by 2 weeks.. bang on Christmas Day. 😳

@claireb7rg It may still be quite raw for him at the moment but he may come round in time. Adoption is a serious undertaking, you are more than likely to get a 1 - 2 year old rather than a baby and the majority come with attachment issues or trauma related behaviour due to their early experiences. Not saying this is the case for all and it is incredibly rewarding, I just don’t think that when people think about adoption they think of that side of things.

That was exactly my thoughts about it. I'd worry that we got a child with issues and we wouldn't cope. 😢

A friend of mine adopted 5 ish years ago, she got a 18 m - 2 year old. He had developmental delay but has now caught up and is a happy 7 yr old. But it was hard for her at the beginning.

kirinm · 21/09/2020 09:56

@MrsB2019x 100% if I had a December baby, I'd be happy with a December baby - we definitely tried in March - is that the right month? Anyway, not much is stopping us trying with the clock ticking!

MrsB2019x · 21/09/2020 12:59

@kirinm Yeah I found out I was pregnant on 6th April so would’ve been about the middle of March I conceived

stickytoffeepud1991 · 22/09/2020 06:50

My DD is Xmas eve so completely understand! I love it cause I adore Christmas but it’s quite stressful and also very expensive 😂🤣

AF eventually has arrived this morn so can move on to next month. My app is telling me I ovulated cd16/17 but I genuinely think it was a few days before but my opks where negative?

What do you use girls to track ovulation? Opks? BBT? If so which ones cause I have the cheapy ones from Amazon.

CD1 for me ☹️ Xx

MrsB2019x · 22/09/2020 09:03

Sorry AF has arrived @stickytoffeepud1991 ☹️ I used the One Step cheapies from Amazon but I’ve decided to step away from OPKs now. For when I did use them they seem fairly reliable though

whambam89 · 22/09/2020 09:37

@stickytoffeepud1991 sorry AF arrived! I used the CB digital but also stepping away from OPKs now as they just caused me more stress. They've been handy to find out I ovulate later than the "standard" CD14 though x

kirinm · 22/09/2020 10:50

Sorry af arrived @stickytoffeepud1991

I'm the total opposite to @whambam89 and @MrsB2019x in that I didn't track ovulation this month (because I had no OPKs) and I found it really frustrating 🙈 so I think I will use CB ones again next month.

I'm on CD21 / 9dpo ish Nothing exciting to report.

stickytoffeepud1991 · 22/09/2020 11:01

Thanks @MrsB2019x @whambam89

I think it’s cause I was on holiday and didn’t want to take any to track.

I’ve got the cheap ones from Amazon and I might buy a pack of the digital ones and see if that helps.

@kirinm Thankyou! When do you normally start to test? X

kirinm · 22/09/2020 11:03

@stickytoffeepud1991 my cycle is about 26-27 days so I start testing on CD8. I appear to ovulate around CD11/12.

Sansa87 · 22/09/2020 11:11

I swear by the cb digital advanced. Told me exactly when I ovulated, which was useful straight after the mmc as I ovulated day 20 instead of day 14.

MrsB2019x · 22/09/2020 11:23

@kirinm This will be my first month off them, I’ll let you know if it works or makes me more stressed 😂

kirinm · 22/09/2020 11:30

If you're energetic enough to DTD every other day for however many days, then testing probably doesn't matter. But I'm old and tired and definitely don't have the energy to DTD endlessly Grin

Tigger1987 · 22/09/2020 19:28

@stickytoffeepud1991 Sorry to hear AF has arrived. For the last 3 cycles I have used both the CB and cheapies and have actually found the cheapies have always told me when I was going to ovulate before the digital. I think the problem I have had though is a couple of cycles my body has geared to ovulate and then hasn't until later so this cycle I carried on doing the cheapies past my peak days just incase!

Tigger1987 · 22/09/2020 19:36

So this morning I tested and got this! Bit of a shock but only 11DPO so still early days.

August might be pact might be madness part 2
MrsB2019x · 22/09/2020 19:56

Wow congratulations @Tigger1987! 🎉 That’s a beautiful line for 11dpo 😍

MrsB2019x · 22/09/2020 19:59

@kirinm It’s weird, as soon as AF stops my sex drive goes through the roof and we tend to DTD most days throughout the fertile week, then once I’ve ovulated it goes through the floor 😂

kirinm · 22/09/2020 21:19

Fantastic! Congratulations @Tigger1987 what great news.

kirinm · 23/09/2020 13:10

10dpo BFN.

I know that I would be concerned if it was a BFP due to the virus I had but as I know the risks are really low, I'm disappointed. I don't have any symptoms at all. AF not due for about 5 days but that'll be the last time I test as I'm out of tests.

MrsB2019x · 23/09/2020 15:13

Not out until AF is here @kirinm x

MrsB2019x · 24/09/2020 08:43

How are we all ladies?

CD12 today so just about in the fertile window. Still have no urge to buy more OPKs, really hoping this cycle can be as chilled as I’m hoping 🤞
