Hi OP,
I hope my story gives you some hope.
I have PCOS and after 2 years of trying, multiple tests, weight loss, lifestyle changes etc we were finally sent to an ivf doctor. We had just returned from holiday and I had been due on at the start but totm was a no show, felt sick etc but put it down to having just got back from Egypt and thought maybe I'd eaten something off despite being super careful. Took a test and it was positive. Took about 10 other tests and still positive. Successful pregnancy, healthy baby.
3 years down the line we started trying again but nothing happened. Multiple tests etc, another two years until finally the gynae said it's not likely to happen. Also wouldn't be eligible for ivf as my hormone levels were so high. Was very upset for a while but eventually accepted our position. Super grateful to have our boy so we were a family of three.
Not long after I suffered an ectopic pregnancy - had no idea I was pregnant until I collapsed due to internal bleeding. Rushed in for emergency surgery and had to have a full laparotomy and tube removed. Doctors estimate I was 7-8 weeks along and there may have been two foetuses. A very scary ordeal and one I wouldn't wish on anybody. This took some getting over. I won't lie it knocked me on my ass, mentally and physically.
A year down the line, an early miscarriage whilst at work. I knew what it was but to be honest I was so grateful it wasn't an ectopic that I was able to deal with this one fairly well. Disappointed but the thought of the surgery and how close I came to not being around for my son, in a way it was a relief.
Another year down the line, we decide to relocate from London and truly draw a line under having another baby. We buy a house, I quit my job, take my son out of school etc. A week before moving I'm late by a couple of days but I put it down to stress of moving etc. As I'm packing, found some tests I had left over and just took one as a curiosity - pregnant! I'm never lost for words normally but I was gobsmacked. Healthy pregnancy (aside from gestational diabetes but managed that with diet and met form in towards the end) and a very quick birth following induction at 38 weeks. She was small at 6lb 8oz but very healthy and passed all her bloods.
Child one has just turned 10yrs and my rainbow baby is now 2.5yrs. Even with PCOS, 2 losses and only 1 Fallopian tube I've been blessed.
I wish you all the best and hope you get your rainbow 🌈
