Hello, just a new thread for August...will add people as and when they finish with the 'July pact'

I think it's important to have a relevant thread once you are looking forward and gearing up for the next cycle...
Or chat turns to tww's when we will want to start chatting about ovulation again...

Will run both threads alongside each other ❤️

@LuckyFlash congratulations! That's a super solid line 😆. I don't think you have to keep testing to watch it get darker, but it might put your mind at ease to see the pregnancy progress (especially if you don't really have symptoms). I'm planning on testing once a week to use up my other two tests (I bought 3 when I started TTC and only used 1 when AF was late). Enjoy your holiday 🏖

Gosh - what a lucky thread this is turning into!

kirinm · 03/08/2020 13:02

Are you having any symptoms yet @BuckleUp ?

BuckleUp · 03/08/2020 13:07

@kirinm Not anything too obvious. I've had a metallic taste in my mouth since last Thursday, sore boobs like I usually get when I ovulate, and constant cramping like AF is about to start (which is a little disconcerting). What symptoms did you get with your first?

kirinm · 03/08/2020 13:14

@BuckleUp my first was 24 years ago so no idea! But with my DD I started to feel nauseous quite early on but very mildly. I vaguely remember having what felt like very convincing AF pains that lasted quite a while. And I think morning sickness properly kicked in around 5 weeks (and it was not confined to mornings). I had the awful taste in my mouth for weeks but I wouldn't describe it as metallic, that really was gross and I couldn't get rid of it.

BuckleUp · 03/08/2020 13:19

@kirinm Apologies, I meant with your DD. Do you think symptoms are the same each time and just differ person to person, or do you think each pregnancy is different? I remember @FoxtrotOscarPoppet saying tea always smells like fish when she's pregnant!

kirinm · 03/08/2020 13:24

@BuckleUp I'm not sure, I think I definitely get some similar symptoms in all of my pregnancies. The sickness was definitely worse with my DD then in other pregnancies (I have had multiple miscarriages) but some friends have said that can happen with subsequent pregnancies or just as you get older. And the horrible taste in the mouth is something I've had more than once.

I can't remember how many weeks I was but my DP had cooked garlic mushrooms and I could smell them for days in the flat. It was horrendous. He was banned from cooking mushrooms again.

BuckleUp · 03/08/2020 13:27

@kirinm That's interesting. Sorry to hear you've had multiple MC. I hope those early lines you saw this morning develop into that BFP 🤞🏻

LeopardLover · 03/08/2020 13:44

@BuckleUp Ooh that's so cool data is your thing then! Glad your hands are feeling less buzzy today. I swear I can feel every muscle in my back! I got up an hour later than normal (after taking BBT and falling back to sleep 😅). Testing once a week until your tests run out sounds like a plan to me. 😊

This might be a daft question, but you have your BFP... Now what? Do you call your GP? I'd be clueless!

BuckleUp · 03/08/2020 13:48

@LeopardLover aww no! I hope your back feels better soon. Don't work yourself too hard on the house renovations! Do you have loads more to do? I know we do..

I've no idea to be honest. The NHS website says to contact your GP as soon as you know, but I think I'll call them at 6 weeks in case it doesn't stick.. I'm just winging it 🤷🏼‍♀️

whambam89 · 03/08/2020 13:49

@buckleup might be worth having a look at your local trust because where I am you just do self referral and never actually have to go to / speak to your gp! With my last pregnancy I just filled in a form, emailed it over and then they called about a week later to arrange booking in appt etc :)

BuckleUp · 03/08/2020 14:04

@whambam89 what's a local trust? I had a look at my maternity units and I only have 2 hospitals (both large and around 1hr away). There was a nice small maternity hospital about 20 mins away, but apparently it's closed because of Covid.. An email sounds much more convenient!

kirinm · 03/08/2020 14:07

@BuckleUp where I am you self refer to whichever hospital you want to be seen at. Maternity services are provided by the hospital rather than GP. Obviously you'd need to check that the hospital you'd like to go to accepts patients from your postcode.

Rotagilla · 03/08/2020 14:11

Congratulations @LuckyFlash!!
This really is a lucky thread!

When I was pregnant with my first I went to the doctor and they were like 'have you taken a test' I said yes and they said 'congratulations' didn't confirm it with another test just sent me in the direction of the midwives...

My biggest symptom is lack of af symptoms.
But I've been super fussy with food, if I don't fancy it then I can't eat it!

@buckleup sorry, your local NHS trust. I'm in Cheshire so just searched "East Cheshire pregnancy referral" and it's the top link that comes up, it had the form to download and an email address to send it to once completed. I know from experience that some doctors surgeries can be quite rude and can have a "what do you expect me to do?" attitude when you ring about pregnancy - as though you're supposed to know what to do when you've never done it before! 🤦🏻‍♀️

BuckleUp · 03/08/2020 15:07

Hmm I'll check it out. The nurse at my usual doctors is aware we were TTC because I made sure I went for a smear test before starting. It's quite a small GP surgery so maybe it's different. I'll do some research, thanks for the information everyone.

@Rotagilla no AF symptoms is a good sign! There was definitely a line on your test, looking forward to seeing it progress!

kirinm · 03/08/2020 15:56

Well I don't know what's going on but I don't think it's good. My AF isn't due for 3 days. I'm only on CD23. I've just started spotting and I've got quite a bad pain on my right hand side. I'm panicking about an ectopic as the spotting is a darky brown colour.

kirinm · 03/08/2020 15:57

*dark browny colour

FlorenceO · 03/08/2020 16:21

Hello I'm ttc 12-15 August is around my fertile window 😬

LeopardLover · 03/08/2020 17:04

@BuckleUp Thank you! OH has given a few days off - he's going to do it all himself. We have tons to do! 😅 We're going to self level the ground floor this week, then paint everything plastered... Then fitting the kitchen next week! Send prayers 😉 What are you doing next?

Makes sense to wait a few weeks, then get in touch with your GP. 😊 I couldn't even find my local trust!

LeopardLover · 03/08/2020 17:14

@kirinm Oh no 😔 Fingers crossed it's not an ectopic. Are you just monitoring your pain? Hope you're okay and it eases xx

BuckleUp · 03/08/2020 17:21

@kirinm oh no! I hope it's not. Keep us updated. Hopefully the pain will go away x

@LeopardLover That's kind of him - you really do have your work cut out! Are you living there too? We're
Doing the whole house (very slowly), this year we're focussing on the lounge and kitchen. Waiting for the builders to change the windows and doors before we can start the next step. Already knocked out one wall and three ceilings over lockdown 😂. By the time we're finished we'll have to start over again!

kirinm · 03/08/2020 17:23

@LeopardLover thanks, the pain was quite short lived. I guess I just wait and see now.

LeopardLover · 03/08/2020 17:28

@kirinm Oh gosh, I hope it's not that! 😔 Are you planning to monitor pain?I hope it eases xx

LeopardLover · 03/08/2020 17:37

@kirinm Sorry, I double messaged! Glad your pain is easing.

@BuckleUp Thankfully not, it's so dusty in there right now! We're staying with my MIL. 😊 What about you? Oh amazing! That sounds like a huge task too. I feel like our list is never ending... Baby steps 😅xx

MrsB2019x · 03/08/2020 18:00

Omg can’t believe how much has happened on here today!

Congratulations @LuckyFlash that’s a beautiful positive 🎉

@Rotagilla There is definitely a line there, think that would equate to a pretty decent line on a FRER! Hope you can get out to buy a better test 😁

@kirinm Could see a line on yours too. The brown spotting could be implantation? If so then you’ll get a better line in 2 days I think.

Can’t believe how lucky this thread seems to be getting! 🥳
