Yay @Dogscanlookup! Glad the smiley wasn't elusive :)

Dogscanlookup · 02/08/2020 18:03

@Tofu35 thank you! I realise how lame it was how excited I got ha. Should I now be testing twice a day? And if I’m testing in the afternoon how many hours should I wait since last wee??

Daffodil21 · 02/08/2020 18:30

@Dogscanlookup haha sometimes I get so excited when I see a smiley that I have to remind myself it's not a positive pregnancy test 😂 glad you got your smiley!

If you test in the evening you need a 4 hour hold. I personally don't bother test in the evenings if I'm using the clear blue advanced ones and I've never not got a static smiley, but I think there is a chance you could kiss your surge by not doing an evening test. Depends if you're relying on it to dtd at the right time, or if you're just using them to keep track of your cycles I guess

So many errors in my last message - promise I'm not on the gin again! 😂

Tofu35 · 02/08/2020 22:39

Yeah @Daffodil21 i'm like you, a morning pee test with the CB. What tests are you using @Dogacanlookup?

Also, you're in the right group for people getting excited about seeing the smiley! Nothing lame about it, just part of the TTC experience 😂

Dogscanlookup · 03/08/2020 09:29

@Daffodil21 4 hours is sooo long! My poor bladder ha. I got another flashing smiley today. Yeah I want to do twice a day so I don’t miss it, I’ve read a lot of people not getting a static so thought evening test would be good. We only have this month to TTC really so doing everything in our power to make it work!
@Tofu35 I’m using the AdvancedCB OPK. I’m wondering if you get more flashing smileys with it because it’s more sensitive?

What are both your reasons for not testing in the eve?
And thanks, I’m glad it’s not just me, I know exactly what you mean feeling like it’s a positive pregnancy test! I’m worried this will give me too much hope that it will definitely happen as I feel I’ve timed everything really well 😕

Daffodil21 · 03/08/2020 09:42

@Dogscanlookup my reasoning is the 4 hour hour hold. I go to the loo probably more than most people, so having to do that 4 hour hold means I'm clock watching and timing drinks to make sure I can actually hold for 4 hours. I figured that was probably putting extra stress on me which won't be helping. But then I don't really use OPKs to time dtd, I use them so I know when to expect AF. But debating whether to use them after this month. I said last month would be my last month, but I need to get another progesterone blood tests this month, which has to be timed for 7 days after ovulation.

Why is this your last month TTC? Sorry if you've said previously!

OP posts:
Dogscanlookup · 03/08/2020 10:30

@Daffodil21 ah I see, yes definitely not worth the added stress and as you say, flashing smiley still helps with tracking! What do the blood tests show? Is this to confirm if you’ve ovulated?
So it’s my best friends wedding in June ‘21 and I’m maid of honour, and I’m making her wedding cake (used to do that prof!) so if we don’t succeed this month it ends up being too close to her hen do and wedding! We said we’ll probably wait until next year 🙁 so I feel pressure this month!

Tofu35 · 03/08/2020 10:35

I had a massive dip in my temperature today, I think I may be out this month. According to the natural cycles app AF is due tomorrow, so at least I'm punctual 😅

Daffodil21 · 03/08/2020 10:42

@Dogscanlookup yeah it to confirm if ovulated. I did have it last month but it was an abnormally long cycle so they recommended to do another this month.

Ah yeah, I remember now. This probably isn't my place to say, but I can't help myself so I'm going to say it anyway, and sorry if I cause offence. I personally wouldn't put TTC on hold for someone else's wedding... I know you're MOH but honestly I wouldn't. My friend got married and her MOH was heavily pregnant during the hen and the wedding, and it didn't matter. She now has a toddler which is much more important.

Each to their own, of course. But making the decision to start a family is a big one and it can take years. Taking a break may be a good thing, of course because as you know TTC is mentally draining, but I personally wouldn't... of course my opinion is heavily based on the assumption that it doesn't just easily happen, but actually for a lot of people it does!

OP posts:
Tofu35 · 03/08/2020 11:03

Aww @Dogscanlookup that's a lot of pressure on you and your partner! Were you thinking of waiting the 9 months until after the wedding so your MOH duties were over? Or would you be ok being pregnant but not full term? (e.g. 6 months).

Dogscanlookup · 03/08/2020 12:36

@Daffodil21 not at all offended! I completely get where you are coming from and part of me agrees! She was just so brilliant when it came to my wedding (I’m now divorced oops), and me and DP are trying to get our place sorted and haven’t had a holiday together so we’re seeing it as if it hasn’t happened this month let’s have another fun 10 months of doing things and try again!
@Tofu35 so does temperature stay up if you’re pregnant and drop if you’re not? I hope it’s not a bad sign for you!
And yes, I wouldn’t mind being sober for the wedding / hen do. Who knows, if we’re still feeling empty with not trying in a few months then maybe we’ll talk about it! So many big decisions, so stressful isn’t it?!

P.s. 40 minutes into my 4 hour hold. Help 😂

acaciabluebell · 03/08/2020 13:35

Hey ladies, hope things are going well! So I'm on CD22 but have no idea what DPO I am because I didn't track ovulation this month 😂 I also didn't get any ovulation pains either, so I may have just not ovulated at all.... But if I did, then my guess is that I'm 4-5dpo based on the last day that I had EWCM. My apps are all giving me different due dates for AF but I'm thinking it will probably be around the 11/12/13th.

I took evening primrose oil this month and didn't see any chances in my CM at all so I might just give up on it I think (they are massive tablets and not very pleasant). I've also started taking magnesium and zinc recently just to try and make my body healthier. We've been DTD every other day at least, except in the first week and half after AF where we DTD every day 😅 Just being spontaneous and doing what we feel like!

Tofu35 · 03/08/2020 16:39

@acaciabluebell sounds like being spontaneous has given you a break from all the monitoring! Also loving the focus on getting your body healthy (she says eating her weight in chocolate). Do you think the vitamins are making a difference or is it too early to tell?

@Dogscanlookup did you last the 4 hours?? 😂

Daffodil21 · 03/08/2020 17:16

@Dogscanlookup phew! As soon as I'd pressed send I wished I hadn't! As you say, you can always change your mind in a couple of months (or you could not try but not prevent? I'm not sure I could do that though, it would just be like trying for me!)

@acaciabluebell and anyone else... this is a very tmi question but do you feel more 'ready' in the first week after AF, way before ovulation? I've been finding that dtd is much better, and doesn't require any lube then. I don't ovulate until around CD21, but I did OPKs all the way through last month to check I wasn't ovulating then. Just seems a little odd to me; when ovulation does come it's never as good and mostly requires lube... maybe it's psychological?! 🙈

OP posts:
Dogscanlookup · 03/08/2020 18:55

@Tofu35 I did 😂 it wasn’t fun. But still a flashing smiley 🥺 if I get another one tomorrow I think I’m going to start panicking eek.
@Daffodil21 aw no I’m glad you said it and it really helps with advice like that tbh! Tell you the truth I think underneath it it’s how I feel but I’m wondering if I’m being impatient / selfish for feeling that way.

I think it might be psychological regarding the “being ready”! Side of things. I feel the same at the moment, because I feel like it’s a switch and we know it’s going to happen.
Speaking of, I’ve had no EWCM yet and I didn’t last month either. I’m worried this means I’m not ovulating, especially with the lack of static smiley 😢

SVC11 · 03/08/2020 19:49

Feeling the starting of cramping... Due in 2 days and really wanted to increase my lp but feels as though that hasn't happened. Sad times this eve ☹️

Daffodil21 · 03/08/2020 20:52

@Dogscanlookup I personally don't think it's selfish at all, and I would be horrified if one of my friends felt they needed to put off TTC because of my wedding. Do what feels right for you and your DP.

I think you're right about the 'being ready' being psychological - it's like when I know it doesn't matter because I'm not yet in FW, I just go with it, whereas there's added pressure during FW! I probably don't enjoy it as much because I just want to make sure he 'does his thing' so to speak 😂

Just on CM, and far too tmi, but when you have CM do you see it in your underwear, when you wipe, or do you feel for it? I'm a bit worried I'm not producing enough. I've never tracked it because it's just another thing to do, but I don't really have any in my underwear... some months I do but most I don't

OP posts:
Daffodil21 · 03/08/2020 20:53

@SVC11 oh no, how many dpo are you? Have you spoken to your doc about lengthening LP? Sorry if you've already said

OP posts:
SVC11 · 03/08/2020 21:17

@Daffodil21 I shouldn't really be complaining as I'm only 4 months off the pill but when you've been... Or think you've been timing everything right it's a bit disheartening... Hmph so il prob wait until 6months to a year to talk to gp... But I've not heard great thing about the NHS recognising short lp... Mines 9 to 10 days x

Dogscanlookup · 04/08/2020 09:22

@Daffodil21 haha I know exactly what you mean by “doing his thing!” 😂 I still enjoy it but that’s the focus! So I normally just check when I wipe, nothing in underwear. I do check my cervix (wow way TMI on here isn’t it 😅) and there still doesn’t seem to be anything when I do that. In saying that, there was a bit this morning when I wiped that looked like EWCM as I did my OPK, so I was sure I’d see a static smiley but I got another flashing one! (4th day)
😢 I’m starting to get really worried. My calendar predicted ovulation yesterday but DP had a really bad back last night so couldn’t DTD. Feeling sad.
I’m guessing with EWCM it is a bit each to their own by sounds of your experience too?

Daffodil21 · 04/08/2020 10:38

@SVC11 ah, I was going to suggest going to gp sooner because you've got something to ask them about, but it doesn't sound like they'll take you seriously yet. Might be worth a go though.

@Dogscanlookup ah ok, that's put my mind at rest a little. I'll use pre-seed a couple of times in the FW this month in case that helps. Don't worry, 4 flashings are completely normal.

I've been reading 'it starts with an egg' and I would definitely recommend it

OP posts:
Dogscanlookup · 04/08/2020 12:10

@Daffodil21 I might look into reading that but at the same time apart from this thread I’m trying to avoid reading stuff etc as it stresses me out! I’m going to test again around 3:30 today so no weeing again 😭 I had a little more wet / slightly stretchy CM. Does that suggest OV?

acaciabluebell · 04/08/2020 13:31

@Daffodil21 I'm worried about my CM too as I feel like I barely have any. Also, TMI but even around ovulation I only ever notice my EWCM after a BM lol. That's why I tried taking the Evening Primrose Oil this month but I didn't notice a change :(

acaciabluebell · 04/08/2020 13:35

Proof that my 2ww 'symptoms' are all in my head, past few days I had nothing and as soon as I started reading mumsnet again I'm feeling ALL the symptoms lol!
