@SaraVB ooh no! That’s a shame. As it’s the first month for us I think we’re both excited but the last thing I want is for it to become a chore or forced! But at the same time how do you avoid this when you know the time is right? You kind of have to go for it 😂

Dreaming101 · 09/07/2020 14:58

Bloods have come back normal but I’ve asked for A phone call with the dr tomorrow as I only spoke to the receptionist.

Can only assume it’s the pill leaving my system still 😓

Daffodil21 · 09/07/2020 15:07

@Dreaming101 glad your bloods came back clear! But yes, worth speaking to doc. Let's hope it is the pill leaving your system. it must be really annoying but even though it might delay things for a couple of months it should mean that there's nothing else wrong x

@SaraVB I know I didn't get checked early (well, I did at 8 months) but if you can get checked now then do, even if it means going private. Looking back I wished I just went private and had checks right at the beginning. I'm thankful for the tests I'm about to have, but if anything is flagged I'll be kicking myself for not going sooner

Thanks @Bam27 my OH just nods most of the time now.

After last nights chat I went to Boots this morning and bought some early detection pregnancy tests. A couple of hours after I had some little bleeding after the loo and had heavier cramping since :( seems I will be returning the tests for more OPKs! Embarrassing!

I wasn’t expecting my period as I only ovulated about 6/7 days ago so I looked it up and it said if the luteal phase Is shorter than 10 days then it may be harder to conceive so that’s disheartening.

Hope everyone is ok today! X

SaraVB · 09/07/2020 15:42

@Rm20 oh sorry to hear.. couldn't you just keep the tests for next month instead of taking them back?
I actually did the same search last week. I'm not sure when I ovulated exactly cos my digital opks hadn't arrived and I found the others difficult to read but I suspect it may have been less than a week ago and AF due tomorrow-Sunday. It stressed me out a bit so I'm definitely going to use digital opks next month to confirm when I'm ovulating.

Actually starting to feel some slight cramping now so I think it won't be long until AF shows up.

@Daffodil21 Yes true that's a good point. I'll sort out the insurance papers this weekend and try to find a good doctor.

Dreaming101 · 09/07/2020 15:51

Does anyone know if things like PCOS would show up on blood tests?

Sorry AF got you @Rm20 don’t feel embarrassed though as we have all been there and probably (hopefully not) will be there again one day. TTC is a head f**k.

@SaraVB I’ve been considering having tests too, same as you for peace of mind. I’m hoping it may help me relax a bit more!

SaraVB · 09/07/2020 15:56

@Dreaming101 I'm not sure if it shows up on bloodtests but I was tested for it a while ago and don't think blood was taken. If i'm not mistaken it was just a pelvic exam and ultrasound.

Dreaming101 · 09/07/2020 15:59

@SaraVB aw okay that’s good to know for the future should I need testing! Was wondering if the hormone levels would reflect it

Daffodil21 · 09/07/2020 16:01

@Dreaming101 my understanding is that if your bloods show high hormone levels then this could suggest PCOS, but they need a scan to confirm

Rm20 · 09/07/2020 16:01

@SaraVB you’re right, I can always keep them for next month. I hadn’t thought, I was just too annoyed! I hope this luteal phase thing won’t become an issue. I will track my ovulation next month and see if it does the same before I freak out. I just the boots OPKs and they were straight forward and not too expensive, around £11 for 7. They just appear 2 lines to show LH Surge.

@Dreaming101 you’re spot on, complete head f*. Waiting for OH to arrive home from work to tell him. He always says it’s ok, we just try again next month but there’s always a little bit of disappointment in his eyes which I can’t bare 🙁 wish me luck! And from what I read, blood tests alone can’t determine PCOS. There a few factors to consider before a doctor diagnoses. X

honeysun101 · 09/07/2020 16:06

Hey,

I'm TTC baby #2, is it okay to join?

Also I was diagnosed with PCOS via blood test for the person asking, but there are different types. My blood showed high male hormones which is what got me the diagnosis. I was never scanned for cysts. Hope that helps!

Dreaming101 · 09/07/2020 16:11

Thank you ladies about the blood test/PCOS.

Aw good luck @Rm20 have a nice evening cuddled up together❤️

Welcome aboard @honeysun101 have you been trying long?

Rm20 · 09/07/2020 16:20

Thank you @Dreaming101 😘

Welcome @honeysun101 how exciting TTC number 2! How old is number 1? Have you been trying long? X

Daffodil21 · 09/07/2020 16:25

@Rm20 you have more discipline than me! My DH usually gets a very sweary text from me when AF arrives! Hope you're okay

@honeysun101 welcome aboard! Any tips on how you conceived your first would be very much appreciated! How long have you been TTC?

acaciabluebell · 09/07/2020 16:30

@Rm20 maybe the bleeding/cramping is implantation? Or does it feel like classic AF?

The most annoying thing that I've experienced many a time before is doing a pregnancy test and getting my period immediately after 🤦 what a waste of money lol

Can't remember who brought it up but regarding coffee - I haven't given up anything yet! 🙈 I still have my one a day in the morning. I'm trying not to change everything all at once or else I'll go crazy! Especially as this is our first month trying. This month I've tried OPKs and folic acid. The next thing I'm thinking of trying Evening Primrose / grapefruit juice to increase EWCM. Then I'll go from there 👍

Rm20 · 09/07/2020 16:38

@Daffodil21 Ha! Maybe the sweary text message will make an appearance next month if it happens again but I am ok thank you. Need to dust myself off and go again!

@acaciabluebell I would love to believe it’s implantation bleeding but the cramping is getting heavier I feel. You’re right, such a waste of money. I could have bought myself a chinese to cheer myself up with that money 😂may still have to do this though. You’re doing well with the coffee, one cup can’t do any harm surely? We need little pick me ups here and there through all this. X

acaciabluebell · 09/07/2020 16:42

@Rm20 You never know, it ain't over till AF sings!
Lol I remember one month (before TTC) I was so confused why my period was late that I paid a ridiculous amount at the local pharmacy - I think like £18-20 for a pack of 2 pregnancy tests only for my period to arrive a few hours later! 🙈 Thank god you can buy FRER 2pack on Amazon for around £7 😅

I certainly hope one cup of coffee is fine! I also started this month eating really healthily and that's gone out of the window now as well - oops!

Rm20 · 09/07/2020 16:57

@acaciabluebell That did make me “lol”. I’ll wait and see if AF is in full swing in a day or 2. If not I’ll maybe take those tests that deprived me of my chinese 😂

I would say one cup should be fine. My sister is a coffee addicted and got pregnant just fine. Obvs she gave it up during the pregnancy! Healthy eating is important but goes out the window after the little disappointments. Need to cheer myself up tonight after all 😁

honeysun101 · 09/07/2020 19:11

@Dreaming101 @Rm20 @Daffodil21
thanks for the welcome! Our LO is 2 years old. This is our first month of trying, I feel really out of my depths, only stopped my pill at the beginning of June and no idea if I’m even going to ovulate. I wish I could give some advice on tips for TTC but baby #1 was actually a surprise. Smile

SVC11 · 09/07/2020 19:12

I had a short luteal phase my first cycle coming off the pill too @Rm20 9 days. I'm really hoping it's longer this second cycle... I'm 8dpo atm and I've just started cramping tonight so I'm scared that AF is gonna start and my luteal phase is so short. I dunno if it increases the longer off the pill...?!

acaciabluebell · 09/07/2020 19:22

Feeling lower back aches/cramps today, feels like AF is on her way ☹️ disappointed

Rm20 · 09/07/2020 20:16

@honeysun101 oh 2 years old, such an adorable age 😍 I think the best thing to do is try not to feel overwhelmed by it all. I think coming off the pill you need to allow your body to adjust. I was a pill veteran so I’m trying to not be too hard on myself when things don’t go according to plan as my body is still working things out. I have begun my own tracker list on my phone. Just some dates and notes to tracker periods, ovulation etc. Use the OPKs and try to see a pattern that may develop, that’s what I’m going to do.

@acaciabluebell don’t feel too disheartened, it’s early still. Maybe implantation, a lot could be amplified in your head because of how much you don’t want it to appear. Keep positive 🤞🏼

@SVC11 let’s hope it’s not another short luteal phase then. Hopefully not. It could well be the pill has messed up the cycle etc. It must as it’s forcing your body to be regimented when we all know it just does it own thing. We just have to let it do it’s thing and hope for the best 😊

honeysun101 · 09/07/2020 21:43

@Rm20 She's awesome, a total character 😊 Yeah, I'm doing ovulation tests just to see if I do ovulate & to try and work our my new cycle. Was regular like clockwork up until I got pregnant with my first, then was on the mini pill until last month so have not long had my first AF in 3 years! Hopefully I'll be as regular as before but we shall see.

How long have you been TTC?

Rm20 · 09/07/2020 22:16

@honeysun101 with any luck you’ll be regular now once you get back into the way of it. Life’s easier if you are. I only started my OPKs when trying in June so not sure how regular my ovulation is yet. We have been trying since March, that’s when I came off the pill so I’m not being to hard on myself just yet. Trying not to be anyway ☺️

Dreaming101 · 09/07/2020 22:35

@Rm20 I need to adopt attitude regarding the pill. I came off mine in March and expected things to just go back to normal and now that it’s not (no period for 3 months) I’m stressing!
