Thou will not get stressed.

Thou will symptom spot casually and not obsessively.

Thou will not test before 12dpo.

Hi @Leopardlover, thank you it was a difficult time especially being so close to that 12 week mark.

I'm really debating some ovulation strips but don't kmow if I'm applying too much pressure to myself. I'm jsit a little deflated today I've been ill all week wooth symptoms pain, nausea. Can't stand the smell of anything. Brrssts so painful I had to come down a few nights for ice packs. Cramping around implantation days everything now it all seems for nothing. I kmow I'm not the only one who's been through this, I'll be OK tommorrow m thank you all for your advice and support it means a lot xx

@Jaym78 Sorry, I never actually said - this will be our first baby. No idea what we’re letting ourselves in for, they say ignorance is bliss 🤷🏼‍♀️. Keeping my fingers crossed for you this month 🤞🏻.

@LeopardLover Thank you for the welcome 😊. I am really excited but also super nervous. Like you I don’t want the pressure of friends and family knowing we’re TTC.. My family have been asking for years, but I’ve always been too nervous to try in case I get morning sick (I’m emetophobic). I’m better than I was thanks to CBT, but still hoping for a miracle sickness-free pregnancy!

LeopardLover · 23/06/2020 22:38

@Jaym78 I can't even imagine how difficult that was for you. Maybe see how you feel tomorrow? OPKs do add an extra layer of pressure, but can ensure you're maximising your chances if you aren't able to DTD all through through the month!

@BuckleUp I've had constant questioning for 4 years since I got married! It can get a bit much. At least we have each other and we can share our similar experiences. I just admit I had to Google your condition - that sounds really tough but it's positive CBT has helped. I'm someone who cries when they have sickness but I'm far from emetophobic... I have had friends with little to no sickness during pregnancy so it can happen. 😊❤️

BuckleUp · 23/06/2020 23:03

@LeopardLover That's good to hear, hopefully I'll be one of the lucky ones if I manage to conceive🤞🏻. Like you say, it's lovely we can all share our experience. Sending good thoughts your way x

Morning

@FoxtrotOscarPoppet I'm ok 🙂 just one of those things I guess. Still leaking though 😕

One thing the doctor said was to use contraception, even offered me the pill and if any accidents call her straight away for the morning after pill even if trying for a baby. I questioned this (my son was conceived 2.5 weeks after my first miscarriage) as I was worried it can cause problems and she said no its nothing like that it's so they can date it accurately. What would you guys do continue to try for a baby or wait?

whambam89 · 24/06/2020 08:37

@krj2608 I think I would carry on trying, I've not heard of that before!

Jaym78 · 24/06/2020 08:44

Morning all,

It's official, I'm out :-(. I'm OK a little better than yesterday. I've decided not to go with ovulation strips or basal body temps. I don't want the pressure on my relationship as silly as it sounds I want the intimacy we have to not just become about making a baby (in not saying that's how it gets but it's somethung I worry about)

@krj2608 hi, I'm not sure i wpild try the pill if I was ttc, would it not delay any chances you have? Don't quote me just how I woukd see it.

@Leopardlover and @gypsywater I'd just like to say thank again for the support last night I wasn't myself. I'm a little naiseisu this morning but most other symptoms have gone. I guess I'm gonna take it on the chin and not get down. The only thing I am doing this month is keeping a log on an app called ovia someone suggested.

I hope your all well, have a good day xxx

krj2608 · 24/06/2020 08:48

Thanks @Jaym78 and @whambam89 .

No we are going to continue to ttc. I was never told that previously which is why I questioned it. My son is healthy so think we will continue.

Hope everyone is well. We are going to enjoy the sunshine today x

Jaym78 · 24/06/2020 08:52

Aww that's lovely @krj2608. Can I be nosey and ask where you are on your cycle? I'm looking for cycle buddies. I'm kind of new to this and I can't tell u all how nice it's been having someone to talk toom it almost seems easier talking to people on here.

And I am enjoying seeing people's updates too.

Have a fab day all. X

krj2608 · 24/06/2020 09:02

@Jaym78 of course! This will be second cycle and I'm currently cycle day 7. Usually a 29 day cycle (finally regulated after my 2nd child!).

I have no idea when I ovulate possibly around cd15/16 going by cm. just waiting on opks and some magnesium ok tablets (which helped previously with ttc) to arrive.

It took us around 14 months to conceive our first we found out on the day of going for fertility blood tests! . Our second happened straight away. We started trying with the thought it would take ages like our first and didn't track anything.

It's definitely lovely to have other to talk to.

Jaym78 · 24/06/2020 09:08

I think I'm cycle day 1. I started to bleed yesterday but it's been really dark brown and thick. It's gone red this morning ( sorry for TMI) I'm usually a 28 day cycle. But if I'm not counting yesterdays brown blood then my last cycle will be 29 day. If I do count it then 28.

I've been reading about fertility super foods... Something I've never looked at, tbh I've never used opks took my temp or anything and that was my first ttc cycle. Is is somethung any of you ladies do or where can I find a lost of these foods? Do you all not drink at all when ttc or in moderation? Thanks in advance x

krj2608 · 24/06/2020 09:12

@Jaym78 I have heard about things like sunflower seeds, pumpkin seed and flax seeds, I eat these anyway not sure if there's any truth in it though. I ate a lot of it whilst breastfeeding and would make smoothies up. X

Jaym78 · 24/06/2020 09:16

I might give some of them ago, I need to eat a little healthier m I'm not over weight or anythubg but my diet is terrible and it makes me sluggish so no harm in a little boost especially if it healthy xxxx

krj2608 · 24/06/2020 09:21

@Jaym78 my delivery has just arrived of these. They definitely helped with ttc my other two x

kirinm · 24/06/2020 09:26

Finally in my fertile week. It is so hot and not the best week for having to DTD frequently! Does anyone know if you get the flashing smiley on the clear blue tests that only pick up your two most fertile days?

ALew15 · 24/06/2020 09:53

@kirinm I agree, we struggle to DTD when it's too warm. Need aircon like on holidays! No you don't get flashing on those ones, only a low and a peak.

I had my static smiley on CB about 630pm last night, on my app (Ovia) do I log yesterday as my ovulation day or today? Also, do I log today as another peak opk?

Thank you.

kirinm · 24/06/2020 10:18

@ALew15 if the CB picks up your "peak" then ovulation is meant to occur 12-36 hours later isn't it? I think I would assume ovulation within 24 hours but that is based on absolutely nothing scientific.

I suppose the only way you can actually pinpoint ovulation is if you are taking your temp and that'll show you a few days after you've ovulated. (I think your temp needs to have risen above coverline for 3 days to confirm ovulation).

kirinm · 24/06/2020 10:58

I've been reading a thread on here by someone in their 40s wanting another baby. She has been torn to shreds by people saying its selfish and that the risks of having a baby with additional needs are really high and that alone would put people off from having one.

I know about some of the increased risks but there is a level of certainty in some of the posts and its freaking me out. Maybe I am too old now? I was perfectly healthy with my DD who I had at 40 but maybe I just got lucky?

gypsywater · 24/06/2020 11:16

@kirinm I would speak to your GP to get some informed advice as there are often very negative (and bitchy) posts on here by people without any actual medical knowledge

kirinm · 24/06/2020 11:38

@gypsywater I actually wouldn't trust my GP to give me antibiotics tbh! I see a specialist for a medical condition I have and she also told me not to listen to the GP if they tried to mess around with my medication.

I've done quite a bit of research and can't actually find much that supports some of the things being said. There are increased risks but they aren't quite as dramatic as being claimed - apart from the obviously increased difficulty in getting pregnant and staying pregnant (issues I had when I was in my 30s)!

ALew15 · 24/06/2020 11:38

@kirinm take no notice of them. I'm only here for the nice comments, negative mean people can take a hike. Unless they're a medical professional their advice means nothing. I'm sure you've thought through all the possibilities in your head. I'm 33 and my mind is working overtime thinking of all the things that could go wrong. I think there's too much pressure on women's 'bodyclock' I had comments from people when I was 28.

BuckleUp · 24/06/2020 12:07

@kirinm I wouldn't listen to them. I'm sure you've assessed the potential issues related to an older pregnancy and have made an informed choice. The medical professionals will be able to give more guidance once you're pregnant and attending scheduled appointments.

I'm 31 and worried I've left it too late as most of my friends and family were mid-twenties. I actually had a fallout with a colleague who adamantly believed (and voiced it loudly) that it was selfish to even TTC after 30! Not sure if she was aware how insulting that would have been to anyone TTC (luckily I wasn't at the time).

At the end of the day it's personal preference! Happy thoughts sent your way 😊 xx

LeopardLover · 24/06/2020 12:17

@kirinm Ignore them. Some of my closest friends were born to mums in their 40s. I've heard countless stories of friends of friends having perfectly healthy babies later in life - including at 46. But there's no reason you couldn't have one later! Every woman's body is different. Please don't listen to those negative Nancy's.

claireb707 · 24/06/2020 12:23

Cd8 here and got flashing smiley on cbd opk this morning. Also had ewcm earlier too 🤨

SS123456 · 24/06/2020 20:16

Don't listen to the negative nancy's, you don't need that in your life! We are a positive bunch in here 😊. I am 36 myself so technically an older mum but I feel more prepared and ready for a baby now than when I had my son at 28
