Hi guys! Just wanted to start a new thread and meet others on the journey of TTC baby #1. I am 32, super nervous and have recently started to use Clear Blue OPKs so would love to hear about others journeys! X

@Flittingabout thank you. My cycle is 28 days and I don't ovulate the same day every month according to the Flo app anyway. We have been DTD every other day anyway just to cover ourselves as it was a different day on a different app. I don't use them but could OPKs be more accurate? Xxx

Hi All,

Hope you don’t mind another one joining..

I’m 32, UK & TTC baby #1 since March so not long.

As each month goes by I’m slowly learning more and more it’s a minefield!

I thought I had regular periods after the implant ended (wasn’t removed as it had well and truly vanished) a few years ago but every time my periods settle into a routine something comes along and sends them crazy!

I completely missed a period in April, tested after about 2 weeks late but BFN I suspect the chaos of the last few months was the reason.

Tracking using 2 apps - Flo & Clue (which show 2 different things!) and feel very much like I’m winging this whole process..

Trying not to let it consume my life whilst equally trying to make sure I’m doing what I should be doing!

2020mission · 10/06/2020 10:12

@Flittingabout yess I have backing now to test early on the 15th and I won't feel like I'm being bad not waiting 😆 👍🏼

2020mission · 10/06/2020 10:14

@J0202 👋🏻 welcome. I'm only tracking using apps so you're not alone there. This is my 4th cycle trying though might end up using OPKs if I have more cycles without success.

Flittingabout · 10/06/2020 10:16

Yes welcome :)

I have tried OPKs on and off but not for ages as it was stressing me out more.

I will try the app recommendations on the previous page I hadnt heard of.

Thanks all. Lovely to have support.

PabsyPops · 10/06/2020 10:20

Welcome @J0202 how on earth does an implant go missing? 😂 this TTC business is all so confusing and ends up not being that fun!

I am only 6 DPO today but I feel weirdly sick!! Surely I'm not getting symptoms so early on? I have also got VERY slight sore boobs xx

@2020mission I only started using Flo about 2 months in as it seemed to have better reviews than Clue but thought I’d run both side by side for a while. Flo has far more ‘symptoms’ etc so I think I prefer it. I need to look into OPKs that’s next on my list 🤣 I seem to only be able to handle one new thing a month at the minute!

@PabsyPops apparently it’s not that unheard of 🤣 went for a normal appointment to have it removed at my GP when it was due to expire (where I had it inserted etc). They couldn’t find it and I hadn’t tried to at all throughout as I’m rather squeamish & the thought of locating it myself just makes me 🤢 ! They then referred me to another clinic who I guess deal with this more often and they had a good old rummage and failed too. I was then advised it wouldn’t be the end of the world if it never came out as it’ll do no harm (which still makes me squirm to this day haha!) ive read stories of them ending up further down and around your body than you ever realise and that was enough to put me off and I left it at that!

So glad I’ve found this as I have no one IRL to speak to (I realise I could I just don’t want the added pressure I guess) x

TTC1CMCY1986 · 10/06/2020 10:40

I am 32yrs old and TTC #1. I'm based in the UK. I had my coil removed a week ago and am waiting for my first period since, or not as the doctor said if I'm lucky enough to get pregnant straight away... eek, feeling nervous and feel like I need an idiot's guide as I've no idea what to expect! x

Em4815 · 11/06/2020 09:02

9dpo today and randomly decided to poas (I know, I know too early!)

Appears to be a true squinter (you may not even see it!) so may be evap line (although there's more of a pinky tinge in real life compared to photo) - but it's the first time in 6 cycles I've even had that, they're usually well and truly blank! Not getting hopes up yet, I'll test again early next week and see if anything more ...

Flittingabout · 11/06/2020 10:04

Morning all.

Sorry Em I can't see anything but I am short sighted and never see squinters on here!

I downloaded Glow last night and it seems quite useful and matches with Flo predictions so we'll see!

PabsyPops · 11/06/2020 11:32

Morning all and welcome everyone!

@Em4815 I can see something very very slightly but as you said it is defo too early so maybe it will only get stronger!

I am 7 DPO and it is really dragging!! I don't think I am going to test until 14 DPO if I can hold out that long!!!

Hi all, trying to conceive no.1 just started cycle 3! So I came off the pill in April, had my withdrawal bleed and had two cycles 30 days long so far, so body seams to be back to normal. Last cycle I just used an app and DTD all through fertile week which obvs didnt work. I now have OPKs and thermometer for this cycle to check that I do try and ovulate and around when. Like lots of you have already said, such a variation between aps that I think the fertile week I had in my head last cycle might be completely off! Also trying seed cycling this cycle- a spoonfull of pumpkin and linseed on my porridge in the morning up to ovulation, then switch to sesame and sunflower seed after ovulation

SpringDream · 11/06/2020 11:50

Hi all,

I hope you don't mind another joining!

I am 28, from the UK and TTC #1.

Currently cycle #2
CD23
9 DPO (days post ovulation)
TTC (trying to conceive) #1
AF due 17th

I have been using Flo to track my cycle but now not sure how accurate this is from what everyone is saying on here.

Trying to refrain from testing, I haven't bought any this month and just going to wait to see if AF arrives.

Peach1204 · 12/06/2020 06:37

I had an email from amazon yesterday asking me to review the early pregnancy test strips I'd ordered - I thought I'd order ovulation strips! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I hadn't opened the parcel as I was in no rush. Also hubby asked when AF was due and I said Sunday/Monday then thought oh shit, he would expect a test Tuesday meaning I can't surprise him! I'd already bought 5 tests so considering I had another 3 I thought I'd test this morning as they are early response strips - 2 BFNs. Only second month of TTC but it's shit. How do you guys pull yourself out of this? I've gone from being casual to obsessive! I now don't want to do my exercise but know I should because it will help. Just disappointed more then I thought I would be. Sorry if you're following a couple of threads I'm on as I'll be repeating this there! Xxx

tkma · 12/06/2020 13:14

Hi all. AF due any day now and we will start trying for our first child together. My DH has a child with an ex.

I have PCOS, but not the standard symptoms of it. I only found out at a scan for mild gynae pain which revealed ovaries which resembled the inside of a pomegranate.

I ovulate and have the EWCM. But for the clear blue ovulation sticks in the house to start testing soon. When do I start with the ovulation sticks? Glow app predicts a July 1st ovulation date.

acaciabluebell · 12/06/2020 14:32

Hi I hope you don't mind me joining too!!

I'm 24 and am just starting my TTC journey for baby #1.

Just got AF today after being late for a few days. My cycles vary from month to month which is the most frustrating thing. One month I'll have 23 day cycle, the next month I'll have a 28 day cycle. It's very confusing!

Next month will be my proper first month of trying. I have some ovulation sticks which I tried last month but I found the whole experience a bit unpleasant, so I think I'll try without them next month.

Flittingabout · 12/06/2020 15:02

Good afternoon and welcome all!

I personally think it is good to do whatever we feel re testing/supplements/tracking etc because it is such a personal unique experience and as much as we can advise and support each other, our bodies will NOT play ball and do their own blooming thing each month!

blodyn91 · 12/06/2020 15:31

@Peach1204 how much do you exercise? Ive decide to drop mine right down this month. 2x easy jogs a week, lots of walking and a easy bike ride. I love exercise and its so important to keep me stress free.

Flittingabout · 12/06/2020 15:33

@Peach1204

Oops!

Maybe you can play it cool and he will forget?

Peach1204 · 12/06/2020 15:38

@blodyn91 I do my cross trainer for half an hour 5 days a week so it's not much and tbh I could do with doing more although I'm fully aware of people much bigger than me who have had babies. I probably would change to walking if we do get pregnant. Xxx

@Flittingabout I will try but think we are out for this month anyway unfortunately. Xxx

PabsyPops · 14/06/2020 11:14

Morning girls! How are we all getting on?

I am 10DPO and desperate to test but I've only got one test in the house so I am saving it. I was feeling a bit off earlier in the week - sore boobs, nausea etc but I seem to be fine now!!

I am hoping to hold off until Friday next week but let's see 😂

OP posts:
2020mission · 14/06/2020 11:27

@PabsyPops morning! I'm 9 DPO today and planning to try a FRER tomorrow morning at 10 DPO. I would wait longer but have a night planned involving some drinks tomorrow night so want to check before I drink. If I didn't have that I'd try to wait until I'm due AF (on the 19th). I have no symptoms so not feeling likely for me this cycle.

tkma · 14/06/2020 11:37

Can soneone give me a bit of advice so that I can understand how the clear blue digital OPKs work? I've not got the advanced one.

Some people are saying I will get a solid smiley face when it detects my most fertile surge, others say it will flash! I just want to understand 100% so i know when we really need to be DTD. We will be trying as often as we can, but busy nhs keyworker jobs here leave us drained at night.

My instruction leaflet doesn't show a flashing smiley, just a solid one, but just reading so many different messages here saying otherwise lol.

PabsyPops · 14/06/2020 11:53

@tkma I have the advanced one and that gives a flashing smiley and then solid smiley when it is "peak". I am not sure about your one but I think maybe just DTD every other day so you don't miss it!

OP posts:
PabsyPops · 14/06/2020 12:36

Oh god I've just found a stash of cheap pregnancy tests in the house... I'm only 10DPO... someone talk me out of using one 😂😂
