Hey guys, first time posting on here. Hope you're all well. Just wanted to ask if anyone has any success stories of being successful in conceiving after 11 months of trying?

Guess I'm just having a very 'down day' today and in search of some reassurance Confused

Not had any fertility tests yet, waiting for the one year mark but can't shake the feeling that there must be something going wrong somewhere!

Hi all, not sure if this is the right place for this and first time posting so apologies if not! TTC since Jan 2020 and because I was a passive reader of mumsnet reading everyones tips and stories, now I have a BFP (5weeks pregnant) I thought i would share what I tried for the first time and did differently in the month when I fell.

What i did;

  • SMEP. First time trying this - We followed the smep but dtd twice a day when i got a positive static smiley face CB OPK.
  • Made sure I ‘finished’ after dtd as I read on here that (apologies if TMI) contractions following orgasm can help sperm move further inwards....
  • Made sure I laid flat for 20mins afterwards - old wives tale but who knows.
  • First time using Serenity Progesterone cream (as i am low in progesterone following blood tests) twice a day in diff areas.
  • First time taking Iso Soya Flavones, having read about them on mumsnet.

Previously tried / Supplements taken

  • Raspberry tea
  • Acupuncture. (Twice monthly)
  • Reflexology (twice monthly)
  • COQ10
  • Zita West DHEA
  • Vit A
  • Vit D
  • Vit E
  • Vit B6
  • Vit B12
  • Folic Acid
  • L’Aquenine
  • Zinc
  • Spatone
  • Agnus Castas (for a few months but messed up my cycle)
  • Starflower Oil (up until Ov)
  • EPO (up until Ov)
  • Decaf tea/coffee
  • Ate ‘helpful’ foods for each week of my cycle
  • Affirmations
  • Rested
  • Breathwork
  • Preseed and Conceive plus
  • tried to avoid alcohol but did drink on occasion

All in all, could have been coincidence / fate / luck but it seemed to work. Good luck!!

Hi I know this is an old thread but just wondering how everyone is getting on here ? I'm also 11 months TTC #1 and no luck yet. I'm 36. Had initial blood tests which apparently fine, show I'm ovulating but got hung up on my day 3 FSH which was 8.7. Partner had his SA which is fine thankfully. Getting worried and anxious as I know after 1 year of infertility the odds of natural pregnancy go down significantly to like 20% so would be great to hear some positive stories from you ladies! Thanks

I know this is a very old thread, but I am going into c11 of ttc and feel exactly how all of you have mentioned in here… that it’s never going to happen. I’m currently in tww but I can already tell af is on its way!! Anyone on here got any positive success stories!!

KestrelW · 18/11/2023 15:26

Hi @Flowers07 - also been ttc 11 months and came here for some positivity. Currently 13dpo - have gotten sick of early testing and the resulting disappointment, so waiting until at least tomorrow to test. Any success in your tww?

Yolo23 · 18/11/2023 16:17

Jumping on! We’re around 16 months of TTC but as with everyone, there’ll be months that are more hopeful/potential than others - due to DTD around ovulation or not.

I work this out as cycle 8 of trying correctly 😂

I had a CP a few months into TTC and then nothing since. Positive stories are really helpful - hoping to see some more or some of the ladies who were in our positions in 2020 update with some positive news 🤞 xx

Sierra26 · 19/11/2023 22:42

Hi recent joiners… can I come along? We’re in cycle 14, 8dpo.

Feeling really low about it all. All test results were normal, so we’re just plodding on for now until we can get IVF referral. Or may consider a private round if we can afford it.

Yolo23 · 19/11/2023 23:06

@Sierra26 welcome 🥰 have you progressed with any IVF conversations? Asking for a referral or are you holding out atm? X

Sierra26 · 20/11/2023 07:32

@Yolo23 we must have been scrolling the threads at the same time last night 😂

We were offered ivf referral a few months ago but asked to do a few letrozole cycles first instead. But that’s not been successful (well, assuming AF arrives on thurs!) so have appt next week to discharge from that clinic (thank god, the consultant was awful) and get the ivf referral rolling. No idea how long it’s likely to take, but will be glad to be on to plan b.

Yolo23 · 20/11/2023 19:24

@Sierra26 my usual late night scrolling routine to drift me off to sleep 😂😅

Ohh what was lezetrole supposed to help with? We’ve just had a straight referral to IVF but this was mid Sept and they said it could take up to 26 weeks 👀 x

Flowers07 · 20/11/2023 22:16

@KestrelW Sending you lots of positive vibes for you!! Nope unfortunately not af arrived ended up speaking to my gp and been referred to the fertility clinic so waiting to hear for our app in the mean time having bloods done and partner sperm count so we shall see praying it might be our month soon though x

Sierra26 · 20/11/2023 22:43

@Yolo23 i had to request letroxzole from my doc (she didn’t offer it, but seemed happy to give me it). It’s an ovulation induction medication. I didn’t need it as I’m a regular ovulator and don’t have pcos, so it’s not helped me. I probably released more eggs, but I reckon my issue is further along in the process.

Yolo23 · 20/11/2023 22:50

@Sierra26 i see! I honestly think I have an issue with progesterone but as I’m in limbo between the IVF referral, I’m waiting to see the specialist to see what they suggest from all my tests. It’s such a waiting game isn’t it! X

I’m probably not who you mean as I was already pregnant when I originally posted. However, that baby is now 4 and I went on to have a third. He’s now 7mo.

He was conceived after just one unprotected DTD. I still maintain that Feroglobin tablets help me as I was taking those again when I conceived him.

DH has an appointment to get the ✂️ next week. 😂

Flowers07 · 05/11/2024 08:52

@OneHeapedTeaspoonOfSugar hi unfortunately not I don’t have any positive news to share other than I’ve had lots of tests and a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy to explore further. Tubes also flushed we are now in the process of starting fertility treatments iui and ivf. Currently in my tww 9 dpo and just had a bfn feel like it’s never going to happen!! Sending you baby dust though x

Edited

Sorry to hear that, have they found anything on lap or hysteroacopy?
I had my hycosy this month - how did you find it? I don’t think I’m going to be one of the lucky ones who gets pregnant after it!!

Are you 9dpo a natural cycle? I.e not started any fertility treatment yet? I think we are looking into ICSI in the new year as we have MFI!

We will get there 🧡

Littledot2 · 03/11/2025 13:27

@beebee9 did you have a success story in the end? 🤞x

beebee9 · 03/11/2025 18:05

I did. Wanting to be sensitive to those still in the trenches as it really is a difficult time. First child conceived after 12 months and second surprisingly after 1 month. Nothing I did helped it just took time. TMI here…I think for me I’d had a LLETZ procedure on my cervix which caused a bit of stenosis. After delivering the first baby and dilating it must have opened up and second didn’t take as long. Good luck x

Yesterday I got my BFP after 18 months of trying, had given up hope and was about to start IVF

Littledot2 · 04/11/2025 21:26

Thank you ❤️

You’ll get there, don’t give up. At times I felt it was just never going to happen and felt that I’d lost myself to infertility. Baby dust ✨ to you x
