Hey guys, first time posting on here. Hope you're all well. Just wanted to ask if anyone has any success stories of being successful in conceiving after 11 months of trying?

Guess I'm just having a very 'down day' today and in search of some reassurance Confused

Not had any fertility tests yet, waiting for the one year mark but can't shake the feeling that there must be something going wrong somewhere!

Hi. Im just going into cycle 12 so thought id pop on for the positive stories. We have had basic tests done and all came back ok. Hopefully people will be along soon with some positive stories or tips as i know it does happen. I know how disheartening it is every month xx

MyChemicalRomancee · 01/06/2020 19:22

Conceived after 17 months of doing everything ‘right’ with no known problems (had 20 day bloods).
Every month was heart breaking but we got there in the end after thinking that it would never happen.
Best of luck xx

I’m cycle 10 now so popping on the thread to hear positive stories too 💕 AF hit me like a ton of bricks last month so need some positivity in my life!

Sundance5 · 01/06/2020 20:00

1st pregnancy - 7 months (ended in m/c)

2nd pregnancy took another two 1/4 years. We had all the tests etc they couldn't find anything wrong. I got pregnant just as I was booked for an exploratory laparoscopy (a box to tick before going for IVF) not expected to have anything wrong.

3rd Pregnancy - 1 year

It just seems to take us a long time.

Started TTC age 27. Had babies at 30 and 33. The fertility nurse (and NICE guidelines) advises not to test for ovulation and to just have sex every 2/3 days so there is always live sperm about if you ovulate.

Best of luck it's really hard when you are trying for a long time.

Missgoldilocks · 02/06/2020 19:30

Hey! Sorry no positive story for you yet, hopefully soon! I'm going into cycle 11 myself and need an upliftment! We are doing everything right now it's not happening (basic test have been done nothing wrong plus my cycles are clock work)
Keen to hear some positive stories x

Sundance5 · 02/06/2020 20:12

@Missgoldilocks mine was meant to be a positive story Blush

GemSmith738 · 02/06/2020 20:21

It took us 12 months.

Whilstwewait · 02/06/2020 21:45

@Sundance5 any story with a baby at the end is positive Grin we will get there. X

@Missgoldilocks we are in same position. I keep seeing lots of people getting pregnant month 13 ,14 hopefully the same for us and its not too much longer🙏

Sachertorten · 03/06/2020 00:46

That's me! After cycle 12 I will try IUI methinks. Hang in there everyone! Xx

beebee9 · 03/06/2020 13:42

Thank you for your replies ladies! Smile I really do hope we all get that BFP soon! Xxxx

To those who got their BFP, I hope you don't mind me asking...was there anything you tried or did differently in the months leading up to the positive result?

Also...did you feel any different before you got the BFP? I always get cramps starting around 4 days before I get AF, I was wondering if I had conceived, maybe I wouldn't get those?!

DD1 was an unexpected joy when I was 19 and DH was 21. DH and I started TTC DC2 in December 2018 (I was 24 and he was 27) and got my BFP that cycle. Ended up being a chemical. Got another BFP on cycle 13 and I’m now 24+4 weeks and due in September.

I didn’t have any tests but had been planning on going to my doctor if I hadn’t conceived by cycle 14/15.

Good luck to all TTC! It’s a sometimes long and painful journey and I hope it happens for you all soon.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 03/06/2020 15:36

Leading up to cycle 13, I used an AVA bracelet (waste of money!), OPKs, Pregnacare Conception for him and her, just relaxing and seeing what happened, SMEP loosely, SMEP rigidly, DH was drinking some weird tea stuff that is meant to help his fertility, shoving a pillow under my hips and not standing up after DTD...

On cycle 13, I used OPKs multiple times a day, we did SMEP and I made sure to put the pillow under my hips for as long as possible and I had switched to Feroglobin tablets (iron, folic acid and vitamin B12) from the Pregnacare.

I feel personally that the tablets made the difference. I recommended them to a friend who was also at about a year of TTC and she also conceived quickly after starting to take them. It may be coincidence but I always recommend them now.

hammeringinmyhead · 03/06/2020 16:29

I got pregnant after 14 months. I think it took about 9 months for the pill to wear off, as I was so irregular. That month, I did take the Seven Seas Trying for a Baby pills. It was also the week we got back the results of our 12 month tests, which were all clear.

BopaEli · 03/06/2020 16:53

I got pregnant after 18 months of trying! We did tests after 12 months but everything came back ok. I’d been taking folic acid and iron supplements, DH started to take supplements (I can’t remember the name, sorry!) after the tests.

It was tough, every month that went by broke my heart to the point where I couldn’t look at a pregnant woman without tears coming to my eyes and asking myself ‘Why them and not me?’. I felt so jealous of others and it was so hard for me to be happy for other people’s good news. In the end, I started to think and accept that it would never happen and started to think about the ‘positives’ of not having a baby (crazy if I think of this now). I think this made me relax about it and then it just happened! We hadn’t even tried very much that month because I didn’t really see the point anymore.

I took a test because my boobs were hurting later than usual in my cycle. Other than that, I didn’t feel any different.

I think the key for us was not stressing about it too much. I was happier at work in the month that we conceived, so that helped things as well, I think. A girl I worked with had been trying for 5 years when she decided to work freelance and she got pregnant within a couple of cycles, so work stress can definitely be a factor!

Fran2020 · 03/06/2020 17:14

I've been TTC for 11 months now so here to see the positive stories- it's nice to read them and give me hope! Smile

Skyla01 · 03/06/2020 17:55

Hello. We ttc number one for 14 months / 11 cycles. Got my bfp 3 weeks ago. It can be a long hard journey. It took a while for my cycles to settle after the pill, and then month after month of nothing. It helps to accept that it can take a long time and just keep plodding on. Anything to reduce try stress / obsession can help. For example if you have regular cycles I would ditch opk and just DTD regularly.

The cycle I finally conceived I basically stopped tracking altogether and DTD every 2nd day. I also found some fertility yoga & meditation on YouTube which was great for reducing stress & trusting and believing in your body.

I tested once period was 4 or 5 days late so was already getting some symptoms, but prior to that I got an inkling because my usual AF cramps never showed up. Good luck!

Sachertorten · 03/06/2020 21:01

@Skyla01 congrats!!! Good luck with your pregnancy xx

Sachertorten · 03/06/2020 21:02

@BopaEli thanks for your story, that's really encouraging!!

YourMumsChestHair · 03/06/2020 21:22

I think mine is quite a positive story.

Pregnancy 1: took 12 months, sadly ended in miscarriage.

Pregnancy 2: took a further 1 year and 11 months! Had DC1 11 months ago.

Pregnancy 3: wasn’t even properly trying. Just wasn’t using protection and had sex once in my fertile window. I just got my a proper 1-2 week ClearBlue BFP today.

I had a thread on here earlier and I said in that, when people used to say they got pregnant so quickly the second time, I thought they were talking out their arses. But the proof is currently in my pudding stomach.

I won’t tell you not to stress or what to do, because there is fuck all anyone can do or say. And I heard it all when I was TTC DC1 and it pissed me off every time. TTC is a pile of shit!

Sachertorten · 03/06/2020 22:39

@YourMumsChestHair your last sentiment, so true! Put all the tests away this cycle.

iswhois · 04/06/2020 00:37

I'm gonna join as well as I'm moving into c10 now and as pathetic as it is I find it upsetting to read about people who have fallen after 1 or 2 months (as usually seems to be the case on here)

Sachertorten · 04/06/2020 07:26

@BeingATwatItsABingThing haha! I agree, not a fan of the Ava but then sticking a thermometer in my mouth in the morning was impossible so wearing one at least easier. I put the bracelet and OPKs away for a few months.

Sachertorten · 04/06/2020 07:28

@iswhois don't take people's 'easy' fertility stories at face value. That would be like taking Instagram photos at face value. Xx

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 04/06/2020 08:04
@BeingATwatItsABingThing haha! I agree, not a fan of the Ava but then sticking a thermometer in my mouth in the morning was impossible so wearing one at least easier. I put the bracelet and OPKs away for a few months.
Mine used to run out of battery during the night and never predicted my peak for the same time as my OPKs. Worst £200 I’ve ever spent!

Sachertorten · 04/06/2020 09:20

@BeingATwatItsABingThing and interpreting the weird flashing lights and having to hide the thing in a drawer at night whilst charging because it was so annoying.....people who conceived using it probably would have conceived without it....

Hey, how did you get my post pasted in quotation marks? I can't see how to do that in the app!
