Just want AF to arrive so new cycle can begin...

AF due in 3 days.

Am sure I'm out this month - negative FRER today and I have the usual PMS acne.

Just want my period to come already so that I can get this useless cycle over with and have a commiseration beer.

Just frustrating as have been taking pre-conception vitamins for months, cut out caffeine, no alcohol during TWW, have DTD every other day, tracked ovulation and with no success.

Anyone else fancy a moan whilst waiting for AF to show up?

@mrswilso yeah I’ve told a couple of close friends we’re trying and think I will try be more vocal about too.
Hopefully it’s rising progesterone which is still important for getting pregnant so good to know your body knows what it’s doing ☺️
I’m 7/8 DPO today... boobs are starting to feel a bit sorer, had really bad blocked nose, heartburn and insomnia last night and still having on/off cramping. RHR has dropped by 1bpm but still high but for some daft reasons I felt my cervix and it’s low and hard so convinced I’m out this month now (I don’t regularly feel my cervix so have no idea if this is normal or not!) so now just trying to hold off on testing. I’m going to try wait til Sunday but not sure I’ll make it as off work Friday morning so won’t have anything to do!

LS2020 · 18/06/2020 07:16

Had a dream last night I got a bfp and the excitement woke me up... I’m too scared to early test now because I’m not sure I can face the disappointment again this month. Why do our bodies do this to us Angry

Ughmaybenot · 18/06/2020 07:31

To be honest tho @mrswilso I do think people being open about it taking any length of time would be helpful really. Even if it’s 4 months or 6 months or whatever, it just shows that there’s much more of a spectrum of normal than we’re led to believe.
Aw that sucks @Ls2020 Sad I had a phase back along where I was dreaming every night that I was heavily pregnant and kept waking up with my hand on my belly... no baby bump, just cake rolls 😂 but yea, that made me really sad.
I’ve committed to losing some weight tho. I’m not massively overweight but I’ve more weight on than I need and I feel like it’ll only help to lose a bit. I’m down 6lbs so far. Gives me something else to focus on I guess!

LS2020 · 18/06/2020 08:21

@ughmaybenot those dreams are awful. I still vividly remember one I had at uni where I’d come home with my newborn baby girl and I can just remember that rush of love and I sobbed when I woke up because she wasn’t there any more and I’ve never gotten over it.
I’m in same boat, I was in the obese BMI and since start of the year I’ve lost about 10kg and down in just overweight but want to keep going. The problem I end up is that I don’t want to diet in my AF week as I’m sad, then I don’t want to calorie cut week of O as don’t want to damage the process and then I don’t want to calorie cut two weeks after In case I am and it’s damaging if I do get pregnant so it’s been slow going. I’ve completed the couch to 5k while we’ve been in quarantine and while I know exercise is less effective, it’s been really good for ticking me over on continuing to lose weight even on naughty weeks!

Ughmaybenot · 18/06/2020 08:31

Oh wow, that’s a great loss so far @ls2020 well done! I know what you mean tho, it’s easy to start worrying that it’ll cause problems, like you say. I figure as long as I’m being healthy, it’ll be alright. I’m chunky because I was eating a bit too much of the good stuff before, so can’t see it causing any issues cutting that down.
That said, I went on a baking spree yesterday, and we now have chocolate fudge cookies, a carrot cake and a Victoria sponge cake... that’s not going to help Grin

LS2020 · 18/06/2020 09:46

@Ughmaybenot well done to you too, it’s a hard journey when you find comfort in food! Haha I’ve tried to do it by just not buying any bad stuff but then I just end up eating 3 bags of crisps like yesterday because there’s no other snacks 😂😂

Body is winding me up today, had such a headache and nausea all morning. I’m putting it down to a stressful call at 10 but it’s like my mind has decided to start playing tricks on me.. honestly if my brain put as much power into making my hormones work as it does worrying about getting pregnant, we’d have gotten there months ago!!

Ughmaybenot · 18/06/2020 11:17

@LS2020 thank you 😊 I’m not naturally dinky but since going on our honeymoon, I’ve definitely put on some timber Blush we were in New Zealand for nearly two months, and ate a lot of pies, macaroni cheese toppers and toffee pops and drank a lot of speights beer Grin that said, we got married last July, and I did try my wedding dress on before properly putting it away and it still fits fine so maybe it’s not as bad as I thought!
Oh it’s a pisstake isn’t it? The amount of hormonal shite we get and then your body doesn’t even do the one thing it should be doing! YOU HAD ONE JOB 😂

CaribouCarafe · 18/06/2020 17:02

@LS2020 don't put too much pressure on yourself - I'm what @Ughmaybenot would probably refer to as a 'dinky' Wink person and am still struggling, so I'm sure the weight isn't too much of a factor.

Be kind to yourself, doing C25K and losing 10kg in a year is already bloody amazing!

But yeah, pregnancy dreams are a torment. Spent a week thinking I may be pregnant because I kept getting such lucid dreams only to end up getting just one line on every test before the inevitable period came. Work of the devil I tell ye Angry.

LS2020 · 18/06/2020 17:15

@Ughmaybenot ooh a honeymoon in New Zealand sounds amazing! But yes if you can fit in your wedding dress you’re doing very well!! Uni was what got me sadly and world of work never got me back 😂

@cariboucarafe thank you, I know it’s just so easy to focus on what you don’t have!

Honestly swear girls we’ll be less pregnant when we’re actually pregnant at this rate!!

Ughmaybenot · 18/06/2020 18:19

@LS2020 it was absolutely incredible, just weeks of just me and DH exploring in a campervan, and staying with various friends we have around the country. Best time of our lives 😊
Working in an office is an absolute killer, it’s always someone’s birthday, or someone’s leaving, or someone’s going on maternity or it’s a Tuesday...
Haha you’re probably right!!

LS2020 · 18/06/2020 21:27

@Ughmaybenot I hope one day we get to go. I had a call with a head of another team on Tuesday and she did shared parental leave with her husband and they took 2 months off together to go and travel around and they unfortunately had to come back slightly earlier than planned because of Covid but it was such an amazing idea and me and OH have agreed that we’ll do similar. I’m going to do SPL for 3 months and we’ll take off month 6-9 together and do some travelling with the baby and have some time at home.
I work for a big 4 food retailer so we constantly have client samples and food testing demos and then a full proper cafe, it’s a nightmare for the waist!!!

Ughmaybenot · 19/06/2020 09:25

@LS2020 oh if you ever get the chance, you should take it, it was the most amazing experience and it’s such a beautiful country.
I can’t decide if that’s a nightmare or a dream 😂 I used to work in a builders merchant and that was a killer, those guys can eat 😂

dogmam · 19/06/2020 10:35

Hi everyone, just catching up on this thread, lovely to here how you've all been getting on although sorry that some of you are having a bit of a rough time.

Well done to the girls who have lost weight, especially during this lockdown! Temptation for naughty food is so hard right now! Honestly I can't wait to be pregnant just to fully take advantage of eating ALL the carbs I can! I'm gonna milk it on the food front haha

Sorry to here some of your other halfs aren't fully engaged, I kind of feel like I'm in the same boat with mine. We are technically just 'seeing what happens' as agreed when I came off the pill in October.. but I'm kind of past that.. opk, RHR, CM checking.. I'm actually obsessed but still agreeing with the 'Yeahh, taking it easy and seeing what happens' haha.

Speaking of RHR, I'm a little confused with what the logic is around in terms of O and potential pregnancy? I have a garmin watch as I run several times a week so it's tracks everything inc RHR.. not sure though if I could count on mine with me running a lot.

NZ honeymoon sounds amazing!! Me and my other half actually went travelling for 2 year to lots of different counties and lived in OZ for a year, so I know how amazing that lifestyle is. A few years on and a mortgage and dog is fairly different!

Hope you're all ok and happy Friday!

LS2020 · 19/06/2020 18:20

@Ughmaybenot got a bfn this morning, stupid to test this early but I couldn’t wait any longer so treating myself to a Pizza Hut.. think this weight loss won’t last long haha

@dogmam thanks for your kind words. I must admit the more I look at RHR, the more random mine seems to be. Generally the main things I notice is a massive drop the day before AF and a peak at ovulation but outside those dates, my graphs are pretty up and down at any other times.

Ahh you’re making me regret not taking my gap year now!!

Ughmaybenot · 19/06/2020 18:28

Ah that’s disappointing @ls2020 enjoy your Pizza Hut. I’m a bit jealous, I’m still at work 😂

@dogmam aaah living in oz sounds amazing. I honestly could’ve happily stayed in nz but we’ve got businesses at home that needed us. I’d love to have lived there for a year or two but then come home to bring kids up.

LS2020 · 19/06/2020 18:33

Thanks @ughmaybenot. I’m only 9dpo and my RHR has plunged so I’ve convinced myself it’s an implantation dip and therefore ofc it’s negative. Honestly my mind is psycho but my poas need has been sated for a while!

dogmam · 20/06/2020 14:15

@ls2020 have you tested again this morning? When is AF due? The temptation to test early is real!! Good luck x

LS2020 · 20/06/2020 17:34

@dogmam no, I only had 3 ic strips left of current pack so decided to do yesterday, tomorrow and Tuesday. AF isn’t due til Wednesday so still a fair bit of time. RHR is creeping back up now but the rest of my ‘symptoms’ have disappeared today. Today should be worst day for sore breasts and they’d been hurting on off last couple of days but all that’s completely gone, they’re still swollen massively though like they normally do so as mentioned, my body likes to tease me 😂 I did have another pregnancy dream though so it’s deffo getting to me sadly

LS2020 · 21/06/2020 06:50

BFN this morning again. Still no symptoms either way and RHR has stagnated so looks like I’m out this month! AF due weds so will only test if she’s late. Fx for you all x

Ughmaybenot · 21/06/2020 08:24

That sucks @LS2020 I’m sorry Flowers also Cake

LS2020 · 21/06/2020 14:11

Thanks @Ughmaybenot, I don’t know why, kinda feeling ok - not sure if my mind is waiting for AF or if it’s just not felt right this month and I’ve accepted it. Normally cried twice by this point in TWW 😂

CaribouCarafe · 22/06/2020 08:09

Oh I'm sorry to hear that @LS2020. But am glad to hear you're feeling ok.

Tested this morning (I know it's too early...but the ICs were calling to me) and got an inevitable BFN. Have also been feeling more chilled out this month - I think I just accepted that odds are I won't get pregnant this month which kinda helped...

OP posts:
LS2020 · 22/06/2020 08:15

@cariboucarafe I ended up doing an OPK last night just to help me poas need! I don’t think I ovulated this month as didn’t get a positive OPK so not overly worried.

How many DPO are you?

Yeah for some reason I’ve got my heart set on 2 months time as then will be due April and my new holiday year will kick in so will be able to take a bit more time off before baby gets here which I’d like

CaribouCarafe · 22/06/2020 08:30

Haha I do that with the OPKs too!

I'm 8dpo, so not super early but just unlikely to get a positive yet.

I know it's unreasonable, but I was kind of hoping I wouldn't end up with a summer baby just because I remember all the kids born in July and August ended up having smaller birthday parties as other members of their classes would be on holiday/not available to send invitations to etc.

Also, am currently living in a country where the temperatures reach 50 degrees in summer so would end up spending my mat leave living like a hermit indoors all day!

But then again, I just want a baby at this point so I don't mind too much!

OP posts:
Ughmaybenot · 22/06/2020 13:12

Shame it was a negative but I’m glad you both seem to be feeling okay this month Flowers
I don’t know how I feel really. I’m doing OPKs and hoping for a positive (according to Glow, it should be in about five days) but generally I’m feeling pretty chilled about it. Hope it happens but kind of expecting it not to (again!).
It’d be just my luck to have a late spring/summer baby, when my husband won’t be around much at all until the autumn 😂
