I am honestly so scared of MC/MMC after hearing about everyone's stories that when I eventually get my BFP I don't know if I will even feel excited for 2 minutes before the dread sets in.

Sorry your period turned up @Sunshine1984 have a long weekend relaxing and remember that your period is the start of a new cycle and new opportunity xx

@lucyrp I felt that way after I had a MMC, they were quick to tell me how many people this happens to and how it was all fine, I knew something was wrong so ended up paying £70 on the day for a private scan in central London just so the hospital 5mins away from me would actually take me in 😕 there are quite a few places around us that do early/ viability scans.

@33Carr I had no follow up after my MMC I had surgery they signed me off for a week and they said just go back in if I'm still getting positive tests 3 weeks later x

@blodyn91 fingers crossed that just means you'll be one of the first to get a BFP in this group ☺️

@lucyrp I thought it stood for some sort of loss. Thats so sad. Do they have any idea what causes it? Lack of proper implantation?

Vil10 · 23/05/2020 18:02

Hi girls, please can I join in on this thread? I haven’t been on here for long but been getting involved in a few TTC threads!
I’m 23, OH is 30 next month, came off the pill at the end of jan but this is the first month of proper trying due to an operation in Feb and irregular cycles since! It’s baby no.1 for the both of us and I’m on CD17 and in my fertile week, I got a strong positive on opk today for the 3rd day in a row, so I’m guessing either yesterday or today were my ovulation day!!

Hi

I'm 31 TTC for our first baby! Cycle 11!!! Very stressed out over it all. Especially with last month I was a whole week late on my period. DH got very excited and convinced himself 'WERE HAVING A BABY!' And blamed the cheap pregnancy tests. As soon as he ordered the fancy clear blues ones.... Mother Nature turned up! So this month we're not bothering to test for ovulation just carry on taking the vitamins but try and be a bit more relaxed.

@SmileyT that makes me nervous! 😂😂 Having some G&T tonic to help spice things up in the bedroom 🤣 (now that I've read you all are not completely cutting alcohol out). Think I was over thinking everything

Sunshine1984 · 23/05/2020 18:08

Oh my goodness. I’m so sorry. My comment couldn’t have come at a more insensitive time. I really should have read the entire thread first .. I’d only got as far as sex toys & cups 🙈

@lucyrp I’m sorry for your loss and that the midwife wasn’t nice. Kindness costs nothing and they really should know better :(

@SmileyT @33Carr I’m sorry to hear about your MC’s too :(

There are often early scan offers on local clinics (& groupon 33carr says) where you can get them for half price on certain days of the week etc.

Wishing you lots of baby dust & happy news very soon ❤️

33Carr · 23/05/2020 18:09

@SmileyT @unluckyducky
Nah I didn't get any follow up after my MVA really either. Got a phone call three weeks after to check that I had had a -ve pregnancy test and but that's the day I found out my best friend was pregnant so wasn't really in the right frame of mind for a chat and ask what happens if I got pregnant again. Agree though that I will probably have a lot of private scans done though, as you said, I would want to be able to enjoy the pregnancy and not worry so much!

Georgie31 · 23/05/2020 18:11

Thank you @unluckyducky! I almost feel relieved actually that I won't be peeing on a stick everyday!

33Carr · 23/05/2020 18:14

@Sunshine1984 I wouldn't worry about it, everyone knows that it's hard to keep up with these threads sometimes and I highly doubt anyone would say something purposefully offensive! Im sure we'll soon be talking about sex and toys in no doubt!

OH hasn't long got back woth the food shop, bought me a pair of big lovely pineapples 🍍 Woop!

Bear127 · 23/05/2020 18:14

What are ICs when we’re talking about ovulation sticks? I’m intrigued 👀

33Carr · 23/05/2020 18:21

@Bear127 Internet cheapies (OPK strips) I only learnt this the other day too!

lucyrp · 23/05/2020 18:24

@33Carr i honestly feel lost so have kind of made my own scenario to what i think happened as a way of coping because they didn't really explain sid there were no terms used

@Ltay2 that's how i feel after this, i'm so scared to actually get a BFP incase it isn't really a positive!

@unluckyducky i probably wouldn't be able to afford numerous scans but would maybe get one around the 7-8 week time as the 8 week wait for the scan is horrendous!

@SmileyT yeah that's all i had just oh its very common it's fine nothing to worry about it will happen to you again soon you're only young pretty much get on with it ☹️🤷🏼‍♀️

@blodyn91 the only theory i was given was that the embryo was created and it didn't implant/attach properly and that caused the loss but no idea why, they're quick to talk about babies but not so much comfort you when it's a loss

@Sunshine1984 it really isn't hard to offer a few words of comfort rather than move onto saying don't worry you'll be pregnant again soon. p.s don't worry about interrupting the thread i find it hard to keep up so just post and by the time i've posted there's normally another message to reply to! 🙈

ICs are internet cheapies so when you pay like £3 for 30 ovulation strips!

SmileyT · 23/05/2020 18:33

@Vil10 @Georgie31 welcome to our little group... hope you both have a lucky month 🤞 x

@Ltay2 ahh sorry definitely don't want to bring the mood of the group down 🙈 although I will be nervous I've decided that if I'm lucky enough to get a BFP I will enjoy every moment and hope we can have a graduates group from here and this time next month many of us our celebrating together ❤️

Enjoy your drink @blodyn91 🥂

And as the other ladies have said don't apologise @Sunshine1984 by the time I write a reply to one thing another 10 things have been posted.

I'm really excited for this month and so glad I've joined this group 🥰🥰🥰

Hi All

Hope it's ok to join.

I'm 28 DH is 32. We're trying to conceive first baby. I took my last pill on 15 April and had my withdrawal bleed that week. Currently waiting for my first natural AF. Ovia says it's CD 34 :(

Georgie31 · 23/05/2020 18:40

@SmileyT awwww thankyou!!!

lucyrp · 23/05/2020 18:54

welcome ladies @Georgie31 @Vil10 @Justkeepswimming91 hope you both have some luck! Baby dust to you all x

Ltay2 · 23/05/2020 18:55

@lucyrp I am in the same position, probably only one early private scan for me too but I think now I will definitely have one when I do get my BFP.

@SmileyT Don't apologise! It's obviously not nice to hear what you and others went through but it's also important for me to know. I knew MC was relatively common in early pregnancy but I've never personally known anyone that's gone through it or heard anyone's stories firsthand so I think it's just made it more real for me, especially with MMC - that thought is more scary. On one hand it's made it more nerve wracking but on the other hand it's made me aware that if I do happen to be unlucky enough to go through it, I now know I won't be alone.

lucyrp · 23/05/2020 19:00

@Ltay2 i am not keen about finding out i'm pregnant so early. i've only ever found out at 8 weeks before and then its only 4ish weeks until the 12 week scan but now i'm trying il find out at like 4/5 weeks so will be 8 weeks to wait so don't think i can wait that long! it felt like an eternity when i went to my booking appointment and she said you'll have to wait until your 12 week scan until you hear from me again!

Cocoblue22 · 23/05/2020 19:04

@lucyrp window to the womb are good and there’s other companies too I think they charge about £40 for a general well-being scam. It’s more expensive for gender 4D etc but due to covid 19 they aren’t offering those atm just well-being scans. It’s nice as you can normally take up to six people in with you including your kids but atm they are requesting you go alone or take your partner at the most they won’t let anyone else in which is understandable in the circumstances x

lucyrp · 23/05/2020 19:06

@Cocoblue22 i think the closest window to the womb to me is like 2 hours away but all worth it!😂 £40 isn't bad, i've never been keen on 4D scans myself 🙈 would be good if they let your partner in as thats one of the things i worry about OH not seeing the scans until in the car afterwards which isn't the same 😂🙈
