Hi Ladies,

So we seem to be absolutely hammering through our May Bus 2 thread. My gosh we can chat! But you have been vital to my sanity this cycle ❤️❤️❤️ I've tagged as many as i can think of at the end of a working week 🤯 please tag the others as I absolutely haven't the brain power!

@MrsEmilyB I'd say give yourselves a break tonight and then go for Sunday and Monday morning. If you haven't got your peak yet I reckon actual ovulation will be tomorrow. Plus I did read a study that 7.30am sperm is better than evening sperm (this could be BS but 🤷🏾‍♀️). Yeah some of my apps predict ovulation day after peak and some 2days after I guess there is no way to confirm until a few days after with BBT 🙄 really hope this is your month as you won't be trying next month 🤞

@Newbie0818 oh that'll be good to know the results if only for your own peace of mind. My Dr is crap they didn't even offer me a blood test after my MC let alone any investigations, probably should've pushed a bit xx

Newbie0818 · 09/05/2020 16:26

@SmileyT I think it’s just the luck of the draw with gps :( sorry your experience wasn’t helpful after you MC. Ours is really on the ball, lovely man. I think he was more worried about me having irregular periods at such a young age after the pill then ttc, as he said anything to do with that would have to wait until the 12 month mark x

ApplePie86 · 09/05/2020 16:51

Well, I have no idea if I'm sticking around or not. Declared myself out yesterday but what I thought was AF has not turned into anything. Could be some weird 1 day thing. Still brown spotting again but nothing else.

Might stick around to see how everyone else is getting on but may just see you in the June bus in a few weeks.

MrsEmilyB · 09/05/2020 16:53

@SmileyT the peak has arrived 😍 quicker than I thought, too! I've bargained with DH to take full advantage of morning glory and to give us both a break tonight...I'm just super worried I'll ovulate before then?!

Thank you for the welcome, so nice to be here with people going through the same thing.

@SmileyT Thank you! I have PCOS and my cycles are sometimes irregular, but have been around 35 days so I went with that. I want to test again, but the leaflet seems to say to use FMU or you may get a false positive? (photo below). Or I may be misinterpreting it? I can’t think what you else the ‘unexpected HF’ might mean. It’s worded quite confusingly!

@MrsEmilyB What are you using to test LH? How are you getting the numbers? I love how accurate that looks! I have just downloaded Natural Cycles, which looks much better than Ovia.

Thanks both, really appreciate the help. I’m new to testing, I did temp using DuoFertility with my first and got lucky after about a year. But with the time pressure of now being over 40, I’m trying to maximise our chances.

Also DS1 sleeps in our room and it is really difficult to find time to dtd! Today we dtd in the spare room at nap time 😂

@lorylondon - I use cheap LH testing strips (currently using Femometer ones - £10 for 50) and then use the intelligent recognition feature on Femometer for the numbers.

Natural Cycles is brilliant. I've been using it long before we were TTC. I'll never go back to hormonal contraception again, we used it to prevent pregnancy for months. I think I have a voucher code if signing up for a year, if that's helpful for you?

@ApplePie86 keeping my fingers crossed for you lovely, and sending baby dust your way!

lorylondon · 09/05/2020 18:19

Thanks for the info. That’s clever! I’ll look into Femometer, too. It’s sounds easier than Clear Blue where you rely on the holder to give the result (or not, in my case this morning), and I like that you can see the LH increasing.

I would love the code for NC, thank you! It certainly looks like a good app to use. I’m so glad I joined this chat - so much useful information.

Skyla01 · 09/05/2020 18:27

@MrsEmilyB yay to peak!! I think LH surge is ~24hrs before ov, even 36? So you can absolutely have today off- sounds like you both need it! Sunday and Monday am would be your best chances.

I've started to get the odd lower belly cramp. Could it be AF? I hate this time in my cycle where every cramp makes me think "uh oh, AF on the way?!" At least I'll be put out if my misery soon If it AF. Or could be wind...? Confused

Franklydear · 09/05/2020 18:38

Ladies, tmi alert, I had today white thick hold between the fingers cmm, I never had anything like this, that I noticed, any theories? Only 6-7 dpo I think

MrsEmilyB · 09/05/2020 19:09

@lorylondon - here you go! I think it gives you 20% discount for an year's subscription and a free bbt thermometer. It has a "prevent" "ttc" and "track pregnancy" mode.

@MrsEmilyb 🤞will be well impressed if it works on just the once on ovulation day, or the one before though

Newbie0818 · 09/05/2020 19:28

@ApplePie86 I’m having something similar, but I’ve only just started so I’m sure it’s just everything kicking into gear.
Are you having cramps?

Franklydear · 09/05/2020 19:30

I also started having quite strong cramps for the last hour, enough to lay down, I am only cd19, bit early for af but surely to early for symptoms.

SmileyT · 09/05/2020 19:35

@Franklydear I'm also 7dpo and the last couple of days noticed loads of CM, almost like having moisturiser on my fingers here's hoping it's a good sign x

@lorylondon I just pulled my instructions sheet out to read it as I was sure I'd seen somewhere you can test more than once a day but it was on their website (attached a pic) it does say that you can test more than once a day once you have high fertility (basically when it has identifies oestrogen surge) but I definitely didn't wait for that but I had already checked on cheap tests so just used it to confirm. Maybe stick to the mornings on CB while it's looking for oestrogen but when it's a flashing smily face you can switch to twice daily or get some cheap ones to use in the afternoon. Sorry that was really long hope it makes sense.

@MrsEmilyB with your peak being late afternoon even if you ovulated straight away you'd still cover yourself by having sex in the morning. Some say it's perfect if the egg is travelling down as the sperm is travelling up as it doesn't have as far to go, although I'm sure you are full of healthy sperm by now👌🏾

ApplePie86 · 09/05/2020 19:41

Hey @Newbie0818

I don't have normal period cramps but have pain in my side - like ovary pain. Twice, it's been bad enough that I've needed to take painkillers and I NEVER need painkillers. The pain was bad enough that I couldn't sit comfortably and generally couldn't bear it.

TMI (But isn't this whole site!)...yesterday was the only day I had red blood (hence thought AF). Back to brown which is what it's been for about 11 days now (since I believe I ovulated). I can kind of feel twinging in my side but nothing obvious.

If this was much further into cycle I'd maybe even think ectopic or something but I'm only CD29 (if I'm not CD1/2).

So complicated.

Hope things get easier for you!

Newbie0818 · 09/05/2020 20:18

@ApplePie86 hmm that’s odd. Perhaps if it continues a visit to the gp if you’re able to?

I usually get really awful cramps but am having nothing, and seem to have stopped bleeding. It’s so annoying isn’t it! God knows what our bodies are doing. Hope yours resolved soon too x

Sausage1990 · 09/05/2020 20:51

Ahhh you see this is why I'm still testing on opk daily...because @MrsEmilyB you've got a late surge and @newbie0818 had one too. My tests are still low and testing about midday. I'm only doing 1 test a day atm be I'm running low but I just need to check.

Symptom spotting wise it's way ton early as im only 5dpo but I have low opk results, a decent amount of watery/creamy cm, cramps, backache and fatigue that comes in waves... All progesterone symptoms but for some reason this cycle I can't help but get my hopes up. I think it's all these BFPs getting me carried away. I've got 1 more week to wait to see if af arrives before I even think about a test.

So nice to see some new names popping up here 👋🏻 hello to everyone - welcome to the chatterbox bus!!! Xx

Sausage1990 · 09/05/2020 20:56

@MrsEmilyB remind me... when you had what you thought was your LH Surge how many dpo were you and what was the number? How does that differ to your clear peak now?

I'm just so conscious that what I classed as my peak was 71 because I did think I've just missed the peak wee (lol) but I'm still 2nd guessing myself.

Me and DH have stopped DTD because we too ended up sore and uncomfortable. But now I'm like right should we get on it again just incase?! I said this to him and he said just chill, I think we did it enough... I don't know why this has got me overthinking so much 🙈

Newbie0818 · 09/05/2020 21:22

@ApplePie86 as my af has decided to go awol since the random bit of blood I got earlier, I found this. Just thinking about what you described, could be? www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.motherandbaby.co.uk/amp/pregnancy-and-birth/the-difference-between-implantation-bleeding-and-a-period

Juno231 · 09/05/2020 21:34

@ApplePie86 just remember to stick to paracetamol just in case you're pregnant xx

ApplePie86 · 09/05/2020 21:36

@Newbie0818 I don't think it's implantation bleeding for me because it basically started when I was ovulating and I think implantation bleeding is meant to be around 5-8DPO. Apparently 3% of women have ovulation bleeding but then I guess it wouldn't have gone on that long.

Where do you think you are in your cycle? Could be implantation for you? Fingers crossed!

ApplePie86 · 09/05/2020 21:38

@Juno231 this is how stupid I am. Didn't know I should only take paracetamol. I took Nurofen. Really don't think I am pregnant although can always hope. Will know about paracetamol for next time (hopefully there isn't a next time though!)
