Hi ladies,

I've been gone from thread for a few months now I think. No particular reason but maybe subconsciously needed less focus on ttc.

I was supposed be having private HYFOSY next week but that's not happening. Just trying to concentrate on making myself as healthy as poss and still hope for a BFP. I can see some familiar names and new.

Sorry for what your going through at the moment @XjustagirlX fingers crossed for you.

How did your HSG go @Kiza ?

How are things with you @Anny27

MrsEmilyB · 07/04/2020 17:33

Hi gals, I'm new here and in first cycle of TTC baby #1. Please can I join? Xx

Kiza · 07/04/2020 18:18

@orangeloo hi, good to see you back. How did you find the break from the thread? Did it give you a bit of headspace?
My HSG wasn't the best experience due to her struggling to get it through my cervix but I kind of expected that due to a retroverted uterus and unusual cervix positioning. However once it was in place there was no pain, just bad cramping the following 24 hours similar to bad period pains.
However it has messed up my cycles a bit.

@XjustagirlX when do you find out your blood results? Keeping fingers crossed for you that it's a viable pregnancy.

@rathernotshare sorry you had such a crappy birthday and then a full on AF to top it off! Maybe try and do something nice for yourself these next few days- a bit of self care.

@MrsEmilyB welcome to the group ☺️
@whatsthecraic91 sounds like you've got a great weekend planned! Work is super busy for me too so also looking forward to 4 days off to chill

orangeloo · 07/04/2020 19:07

Hi @MrsEmilyB you've picked a good thread here.

@Kiza sorry to hear it wasn't that easy an experience and that it has messed your cycles up. Do you know if it's common to have an effect on your cycles after? I take it they found no blocks?

orangeloo · 07/04/2020 19:09

Oh and @Kiza I will say it helped a bit. I don't feel like ttc has taken up so much of my focus these last few months, which is good. but I've still had my down days and struggles.

Lily501 · 07/04/2020 19:24

Hi all, could I join this lovely thread too?

New to mumsnet and have been TTC for 6 cycles for baby #1!

MrsEmilyB · 07/04/2020 19:54

Thank you @Kiza and @orangeloo

orangeloo · 07/04/2020 21:15

Welcome @Lily501

@MrsEmilyB from what I've read you will most likely ovulate 12-48hrs after a positive OPK. Personally I think 48hrs is a push and mine always seems to be within 24hrs. Good luck.

Lily501 · 07/04/2020 21:31

Thanks @orangeloo.

I'm currently 19DPO and for the past couple of days have been having pregnancy symptoms, but AF came this month - has this happened to you guys? Did you test?

Annny27 · 08/04/2020 09:01

Morning:)

We basically decided to not try to try but not prevent this month. E.g no opks, no temping, no scheduled set, just dtd as and when we want.

Glad to see you again @orangeloo it can become overwhelming at times, especially as the number of cycles increases :( I am going okay, not overly focused on ttc at rhe moment with the whole virus situation

@kiza haha I can chart everything. I have put my thermometer away this month - slowly becoming less obsessed :p

@XjustagirlX sorry that they couldn't see anything conclusive. I hope it a positive outcome for you, please let us know!

@rathernotshare ah happy birthday to you from AF haha! Sorry she arrived

@whatsthecraic91 its hard to keep up sometimes isn't it. The long weekend will be well deserved xx

XjustagirlX · 08/04/2020 09:27

I will get my blood results later today after my second blood test at the hospital.

I am highly doubtful that I’m pregnant anymore. I think my best outcome is a miscarriage and the worst is ectopic.

orangeloo · 08/04/2020 10:33

@Lily501 sorry do you mean your 19DPO with no sign of AF? If you are then yes definitely test.

@Annny27 I totally understand that. Two weeks ago after my Ov I felt a bit bad and panicked that what if I am pregnant In This current situation and now feel bad as I almost hoped I wasn't pregnant but in all honesty that feeling quickly went. The thing is this situation could go for a year or so. Do I want to wait another year, no. Plus there will be those people still falling pregnant as they do without a single thought. But it must be nice to have a month off all the tracking and obsessing.

Lily501 · 08/04/2020 13:06

@orangeloo - AF did arrive, but was slightly lighter and much longer (9 days!) So confused...surely it means I can't be pregnant, but hope it's not a sign of something wrong

@Annny27 can completely relate! Checking temp every morning and desperately searching for implantation dips is driving me a bit mad when it's not the result I'm 'expecting' to fit into the perfect chart... OH must think I'm hallucinating half the time...enjoy your tracking-free spell!

@XjustagirlX - keep us posted, sending lots of hugs

orangeloo · 08/04/2020 14:54

@Lily501 periods change for many reasons I had a virtually non existent one back in September and then went more normal. Just monitor it going forward.

Lily501 · 08/04/2020 15:37

@orangeloo true, just going to see what happens next time...

Is anyone only using BBT to track ovulation/FW? My bbt has stayed high this cycle, whereas it normally drops the day before AF - I'm worried it might mess up my ovulation window, or at least make it difficult to track?

orangeloo · 08/04/2020 19:52

@Lily501 has ure BBT not dropped at all on any day since you last ovulated? This can be a pregnancy sign but your period would obviously suggest you aren't pregnant- depends how light an Af we are talking I spose. Do you have any tests?

Lily501 · 08/04/2020 20:09

@orangeloo thanks for replying! my bbt dropped 9DPO which I thought could be an implantation dip because it was when light spotting started too, which I don't usually get before AF...?? I was so excited and completely convinced I'd be getting a BFP until bleeding got heavier 2 days later. There was a slight decrease in bbt throughout AF but its been steadily rising again for about 5 days and is now the highest it's ever been, even in luteal phase. Can't think of anything I'm doing differently that would cause a rise in temp though

Sorry - TMI - but AF is usually very heavy with clots, this time no clots and definitely lighter, but still very much not any sort of implantation bleeding I've looked into. Also - again so sorry for TMI - but the last 3 or 4 days were more like brown discharge rather than bright red period blood, again not something that usually happens.

Paired with preg symptoms I thought it might be a chemical or ectopic pregnancy or something but really don't know much about any of that...

And no - I don't have any tests!! It's killing me. I live in Italy and the lockdown is so strict here atm...4000 euro fine for leaving the house without good reason so we're really trying to limit when we leave!

Sorry for rambling, google is giving me no answers whatsoever...just going to have to do a test asap i suppose...

orangeloo · 08/04/2020 21:30

@Lily501 if it did drop and you did have some bright red blood it probably was your period. Are you using OPK's? What cd are you now if it was a period?

Lily501 · 08/04/2020 21:39

@orangeloo No, not using OPK's - hadn't heard of them until I came on here! Tracking ovulation with BBT and CM and has been fairly accurate so far I think...would you recommend OPK's?

Now day 10 of cycle and bleeding finished yesterday, ovulation usually around CD17 so just going to have to base it on previous cycles to predict FW if my temp doesnt sort itself out I guess Confused

It's so frustrating isn't it...had no idea how little I knew about my body before I started TTC!

orangeloo · 09/04/2020 08:35

@Lily501 BBT is better to confirm Ov rather than predict so pay attention to your CM more as to when you should DTD. I would recommend OPK's however they do make things more pressurised and is one more thing to worry about so if your new into it I'd say carry on as u are for a while.

CoalCraft · 09/04/2020 08:49

Oops, this thread had been moving fast, apologies if I miss things! No news here really. I haven't been tracking but if this is a normal cycle then I think I should ovulate just say the end of back holiday weekend, so good timing for DTD (DH gets tired from work, so every two or three days is about the most we can do during a normal five day week. Lots of rest time with for days off though!)

@Kiza yeah I think it must have been pre-period spotting, just surprised me as I never had spotting likes that before starting the pill. That read almost ten years ago though!

@whatsthecraic91 things are still busy in work for me to, I oscillate between being a wee bit envious of my furloughed friends and super grateful that I still have work as a distraction. That's great that you can get your test done yourself.

@rathernotshare sorry your birthday was a bit crap, but yay for AF showing up I guess? Hopefully your cycles can start to settle in now X

@orangeloo welcome back! I don't think we meet before so good to meet ya!

@MrsEmilyB and @Lily501 welcome! May your TTC times be short!

@Annny27 enjoy your relaxed cycle! It's good to take a break now and then

XjustagirlX · 09/04/2020 09:08

I got my blood results back. First one was 104 and second one was 121. The doctor did it’s inconclusive. I need to go again in 48 hours while they do another one.

MrsEmilyB · 09/04/2020 09:25

@Lily501 worth doing a test when you can get out!

@CoalCraft thank you for the welcome! My 2ww starts today or possibly yesterday (not sure if I ovulated yesterday or the day before. The day before I had CM signs, yesterday my CM was thicker/less but that's when my app predicted and my temp spiked this morning) we have done BD every day since Sunday so, wait and see I guess! Sending lots of good vibes for your bank holiday baby making.

@XjustagirlX I'm sorry. That must be really frustrating :( hope you get an answer soon!

Kiza · 09/04/2020 18:23

@Lily501 maybe see if you can order some internet cheapies of both opk and hpt. I usually buy mine from eBay and it's about £4 for a pack of 20.

@orangeloo luckily no blocks, have had a bunch of other tests and have now been referred for IVF however have been warned it's all delayed due to CV19 so no idea when it will start. How many cycles are you in now? I'm currently in cycle 19 so hoping we get a BFP before ivf is needed 🤞🏼

@XjustagirlX does that mean you're going back on Saturday? It's positive that the hcg hasn't gone down but completely understand you feel in limbo right now and would just want to know either way.

Soooooo looking forward to a 4 day weekend as work has been pretty busy. Lots of self care and pampering on the cards with hopefully some time in the garden of the sun comes back out. Sod's law it's been sunny whilst I've been working all week 😆

orangeloo · 09/04/2020 19:46

@Kiza glad there were no blocks. Yes FX you won't need the IVF. I'm on cycle 16 now it's a long old slog isn't it.

@XjustagirlX sorry to hear this. Really hope the next one is good news for you. How frustrating.
