Yay holidays are such a nice think to look forward to preggers or not. We have a holiday to Mauritius in March (I work for a travel company so got great deals) and I must be mad but we are going to Glastonbury in June. If I'm pregnant this month or next we will sell our ticket in the resell in April but if I'm only 3 or 4 months I'm still going....

@beau2020x yes men are strange creatures. Didn't help that I did a test with my FMU beforehand then had to fiddle with preseed by which point OH was saying hurry up as he needed to get ready for work. Think the pressure to finish quickly then got to him. I need to be nicer to him as I did not hide my disappointment afterwards which probably didn't help. Just thought "you have one job" !!!!

I think my OH would be the same, the best thing I have ever done was to not tell him anything about being in FW and just enjoy it as it comes. We have pretty regular sex life outside of FW and both have high sex drive. Maybe try not to talk to him about opks, ovulation and FW? I think you find that men in general cannot deal with pressure of having to perform in bed for a particular reason, they’re at their best if they think they’re just having a shag! Sorry if that’s a bit out of line, I mean it in the nicest way possible to help x

@Symptomspotter86 yeah @Katie1109 is totally right there! It feels sneaky but works for us. I even sneak out and 'insert' the preseed out of the room away from OH so he's not even aware I'm lubing up! He wants a baby and that's the only involvement needed haha! I do sometimes wish he was more interested in the trying part and ovulating etc etc BUT I think I'd honestly drive him away if he did (I am psycho about this whole TTC thing though).

Maybe next cycle (if there is a next) just try a more 'secretive FW' approach haha!

@Beau2020x my OH’s knowledge about TTC goes as far as knowing that ovulation happens once in a cycle and it’s more less in the middle between two periods 😂 and I’m fine with him thinking just that. He doesn’t need to know anything else, not I feel like having to explain different caveats of it to him x he doesn’t know I used opks, nor he needs to know x I do what I have to and he just needs to enjoy the sex which I do enjoy regardless of trying for a baby or not x

@Katie1109 yep exactly like us! My OH thought I was testing for pregnancy every morning and I was like no babes those are OPKs. Not sure he knows how often I do them or anything like that. His knowledge goes as far as there are only 3 days in a month you can get pregnant. Best way haha! Although I totally appreciate as well there are a lot of men out there that like to be 100% involved every step of the way - and that's pretty cute!

@Beau2020x @Katie1109 my DH is actually really well researched into TTC, but on the other hand doesn't really want to have much physical input in the way of OPK's etc. And tbh I'm cool with that. This group has made me feel so much less stressed than last time and I think that's helped us both massively! It can get so bland when you're having to pencil sex in 🙄

@Symptomspotter86 I agree with Beau above, if it gets to another morning where you're like.. right, need to get it in before work.. I've done the same - check OPK's and lube up in another room then just jump on him when he's asleep 😂 I appreciate everyone's partner is different but my DH loves being woken up like that! If I'd told him before hand he probably wouldn't have finished either, as we've also had that happen! Xx

@Beau2020x @Katie1109 thanks for the advice. I think the difficulty is that we dont really have sex that regularly outside of FW only at weekends and about once a week. He doesn't and never had a high sex drive. It has caused arguments in the past but we've been together 7 years so I've just got used to it. I tried to keep it secretive but he soon caught on that it was FW and we agreed when it comes to TTC he is going to have to up his game. I definitely think I need to go out the room and lube up and not worry about the opks so much as it is off putting. I'm going to try and be more sensitive to him and not make it such a ritual.

@Symptomspotter86 I'm in the same boat, I have a higher sex drive than my OH and we only really do. It once a week normally at weekends. 🙄 Mate I have rinsed him about it like bloody scheduling in do you want a spreadsheet with that fucker?? Hahaha no. Honestly it caused a lot of issues for us too but I've also gotten used to it, plus since last year our sex life got loads better, I dunno why, but still we just aren't a couple to do it a lot. So have to let him know OK this week we are doing it like 5 times and it's a strain because we don't do it much AND he like has difficulties finishing. What I mean by that is, it's actually an issue he has he's so used to finishing in the "other" way(by himself if you get my drift) God can't believe I'm saying this lol but this means he really really has to try to finish and it takes ages. (I must admit I miss quickies!!) so all in all its a blood mare!!!

It would be nice if they were more involved but unfortunately some men just aren't and it's shit but we can do this!! Lol

@Symptomspotter86 he probably feels extra pressure even though he wants to be involved. Maybe just have a nice little chat with him and ask him if he wants to know when the FW is or if he just wants to be a bit more relaxed?

It is though, we are similar! We maybe only have sex 3-4 times a week and most of that is on a weekend. Sometimes it's only once/twice a week others it's like 5 times a week. My OH has quite a high sex drive but at the same time he likes his peace as well 😂 if he's tried it's a no go!

@Ellsbells112 sounds like we have very similar situations! We have good sex when we do it, it is just weekends. I also have to warn him that "this week we will do it 5 times" too.

@Beau2020x yeah you are right I should ask him what he does and doesn't want to be involved in and ask him what can help. Us women are bloody superheroes I tell thee. Periods, opks, carrying a baby, hormones, pills, contraception and so on. Yet we are still trying to be as considerate as possible for our OH having to DTD more lol!

Evening all ! So I did OPK on 13th Jan with a strong line the first time in 2 years!! so DTD with OH I am now for the last 8 days I have had really painful cramps everyday and sore nipples!! This has never happened before ! I am worried because of the PCOS that my body is tricking me.

@hampshirerose34 Have you done any other OPK's to determine a peak in your cycle at all? And are you using any apps to keep track of symptoms and days you've been DTD?
If you ovulated on 13th (using it as a reference) then you could technically be 8dpo, not necessarily too early for symptom spotting!! 🤞🏻 X

@hampshirerose34 hey lovely! I don't suffer with PCOS but I do get really sore nipples for about 5 days after ovulation and really heavy cramps. I haven't had the cramps this cycle but it has been normal for me previous. I've read somewhere that rising progesterone after ovulation can cause all these symptoms. Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼💪🏼

@Mumofboys17 I did it over a few days and 13th was my strongest line. Been using the ones of amazon 1 step I think they are called going to get some better ones for next month. I have been using The Femometer app and also writing it down in a diary to keep track of everything. Not sure when I should test as not sure when AF is due.

@Beau2020x because this isn't that normal for me and my AF in December was the first decent one I have had for so lone I don't know what to think. Thank you I hope something happens not getting any younger lol and my mum is badgering me to make her a nan lol.

Managed to DTD last night luckily! However still flashing smiley this morning. It is CD16 and usually ovulate this day so hoping will get my surge later on today.

How is everyone else getting on? When is everyone due to test?

@hampshirerose34 hmmm that's so tricky... keep a log of your symptoms, then I'd say maybe do a test 2 weeks from your suspected ovulation day so end of Jan maybe??
I use those strips too! I've ordered a CB digital smiley one for this cycle though so will use them both alongside each other and see how we go!

Those of you taking evening primrose oil, did you take them during AF or wait for it to finish? I don't normally bother much with folic acid during AF either x

@Symptomspotter86 well done you x I read somewhere that day before O day is the highest chance of conceiving, even higher than O day!
I think I'm 3DPO today if my O was on Sunday or max 5DPO if it was on Friday. Occasional twinge here and there, but last night felt a bit crampy, actually put a hot water bottle on. My lover stomach feels like its bruised, similar to when I exercise my abdomen muscles too much but I haven't done so in the last week.
How is everyone getting on?

@Symptomspotter86 AF due for me 30th so I'm really going to try and hold out testing until 29th. Although I am convinced I'm out. I've been googling symptoms about painful sex in the cervix/ovary area around ovulation and now I' convinced I have either cervical cancer, PCOS or Endo!! I know I've had these pains for a few years but I can't remember if I had it last time I conceived - I don't think I did! It's like OH is bashing my cervix when we have sex around ovulation and sometimes my ovaries hurt too. Weird.

@Katie1109 cramping can only be a good sign - surely??

@Beau2020x I don't know anymore what is a good sign! No cramping today, just tender lower belly and weird twinges in right side lower back/side almost just above my hip bone. I'm sure its all nothing anyway even if I am 5DPO and not 3 it would be too early for anything to show x What DPO are you?

@Katie1109 I think I'm 6PDO but could be 5. I'm booked in for a smear on 29th - talk about bad timing! I'll either maybe on my period or pregnant haha! I really don't want to have to miss it though!

@Symptomspotter86 yeah @Katie1109 is totally right! Last time I conceived we DTD the day before ovulation (or at least what I thought was the day before)

@Ellsbells112 @Symptomspotter86 well I too am on CD 18 so I don’t when to test, maybe the weekend too early? Usually my cycle varies 23-26 or should I test now? Almost took a test yesterday! Only 5 DPO. Too early huh?

@Beau2020x you know I'm thinking the same but it's not all cycle long that sex hurts? It's only when he's really deep and at certain times it's weird, does that make sense? It doesn't always hurt anyway so I don't know if that is normal or an issue lol does it always hurt you? Like every time?

@katie1109 it is so hard to know what symptoms are different when we are looking out for it more isnt it? Hopefully the cramping is a good sign.
