A quick introduction to this thread.. it has been running for many years and is a group of women who have experienced recurrent miscarriage and are now exploring immune issues as a cause. We have members at all stages, from waiting for first appointments, mid treatment, to take home babies. Please join us if you are experiencing this too, loads of friendly advice here and somewhere to share your hopes and fears.

Hi @Ultra26 I've had three but none while on pred. I've only had one cycle on pred so far and that ended in a BFN. Will start again in about a week, joy! Good luck with your treatment, I've got everything crossed for us all.

Wewin · 15/11/2019 23:41

@Wishing5tar I ordered my deoxycycline from another website. I can try and find it if you like?

@ginandtonicformeplease I really hope your FET works and we are all rooting for you!

@KittyKatSmile so pleased all is well with you.

@williteverhappen great news on your scan and this is a sticky baby! I have fibroids but not sure if size and type. Apparently the sub-mucous ones aren’t great.

In summary for me. I’ve had 3 cycles on the pred. Cycle 1 was a very brief cp. Cycle 2 bfn. Cycle 3 bfn and think it was actually an annovulatory cycle due to the heaviest period of my life and looking back, no ovulation pain.

I have an appointment with the RMC next month so will hopefully get more insight. If not, have the private appointment as a back-up.

OT: Been avoiding my mother. Welcome relief and achieving deeper awareness of her inability to have a loving authentic relationship. Think I’ll stop banging my head against a brick wall on that one.

Been preparing for Christmas too. Decluttering, shopping & decorating. It’s been kinda fun 👍🏻😊

Wishing5tar · 16/11/2019 06:30

@Wewin yes please as I must’ve clicked a wrong answer on Superdrug & the doctor has come back with questions 🙈 great news that your finding yourself in a better place with your mother. I too have been decluttering in the run up to Christmas - it feels almost therapeutic to throw out crap doesn’t it?! ☺️

@williteverhappen congratulations 💛 one day at a time & the next milestone will be here before you know it!

@FrannyAnny82 I also have acupuncture weekly & find its time for me to relax and have a bit of me time 💕 plus it also helps me sleep soundly afterwards which is a blessing with the Pred insomnia 😴

williteverhappen · 16/11/2019 07:26

Thank you everyone for the well wishes 😘 I am trying to remain positive and taking each day as it comes. At the in laws this weekend which is nice as I get to be pampered but not sure they believe my reasons for not drinking (dodgy stomach!). Hope you all have a lovely weekend xx

williteverhappen · 16/11/2019 07:32

@Wewin, totally understand you on the mother front! I have a similar relationship with mine. I also decided to stop trying to force it especially when we are going through such tough trying times. It just used to make me feel worse. I just focused on the positive people around me xx

Wewin · 16/11/2019 17:49

@Wishing5tar I’ve just looked through my email and can’t find it :( but looked online and clickpharmacy.co.uk looks ok - simple questionnaire - you can order 2 weeks supply for £23.99.

Hope everyone is doing ok this weekend.

Wewin · 16/11/2019 18:08

@williteverhappen (and everyone else who has difficulty with their mother or someone close to them who is impossible!) I totally agree, you have to save your sanity and minimise contact and save your energy for people who build you up and not cut you down. My mother really isn’t capable of therapy or taking onboard any feedback and she’d rage if I called her out on it. So discussing with her isn’t an option. It’s just best to know what you’re dealing with and accept that. Then find other loving people in your life who respect your boundaries. I’ve had enough of being humiliated, mocked, put down, made to feel I’m never good enough. I’m leaving the game as I’ve seen it for what it is. I feel blessed for this understanding. I hope all of you who might be experiencing this understand that you can never change a person like this and love yourself to walk away (as much as you can). You are beautiful and unique and are worthy of much love and blessings in this life xxx

zoe16 · 16/11/2019 18:41

Was anyone feeling sick on pred? Since yesterday I’ve been feeling warm and overall unwell, like I’m about to come down with something. I truly hope my body isn’t trying to attack if anything happened this cycle and I have a strong suspicion something happened.....I gave in and tested @8dpo and I swear I saw a vvvvfl but waiting for 10/11dpo to test again.

williteverhappen · 17/11/2019 04:08

@Wewin, its not fun not being able to get the support we need from our mothers but, as you said, totally thankful for the other amazing people that are helping us through these time. It's not nice but coming to terms with the fact that they aren't going to change allows me to move forward and you never know maybe one day the light bulb will come on for them. I've only been on this thread for less than a week but the support is amazing! I love the following quote from Winnie the pooh which I try and say to myself: "Always remember you are braver than you believe stronger than you feel and smarter than you think" xxx

williteverhappen · 17/11/2019 04:15

@zoe16, I felt quite the opposite whilst on pred when TTC, more like I was "wired" or on something. Fingers and toes crossed for a BFP and a sticky bean when you test in a couple of days!!🤞🍀xxx

zoe16 · 17/11/2019 13:44

@williteverhappen I was scared of the potential side effects but luckily I’ve been feeling normal save for my moonface. Yesterday was my only off day but I’m feeling better today.

I actually took two tests this morning at what I think is 10dpo and they were positive even my dh saw the lines. I’m 4 days away from my expected AF so still waiting to miss then go in for bloodwork (will probably track line progression over the next few days like a mad woman). I’ve never gotten a positive this early but it’s hard to get excited because this is usually the easy part, the next two weeks will be critical for me! This will be the longest week of my life and I’ll probably be a complete nervous wreck all week and upcoming weeks if I manage to cross the danger zone. I need to do my intralipid but I’m thinking to wait until I’ve missed AF, what do you ladies think?

williteverhappen · 17/11/2019 13:55

@zoe16, that's great news! Yes that's exactly what I did - A couple of tests to check the lines were getting darker then I stopped as I was able to get bloods for HCG. All I can say is to try and stay positive and take each day as it comes (I know much easier said than done). I'm not on intralipids so able to comment on that. Keeping everything crossed for you and a sticky bean!!xx

KittyKatSmile · 17/11/2019 17:00

@zoe16 congratulations. It is a very scary time but just remember the mantra: 'today I am pregnant'. Sending you best wishes x

FrannyAnny82 · 17/11/2019 22:16

Congratulations @zoe16!! That's great news! Are you under Dr S? He told me to have the lipids within four days of a BFP if that helps x

zoe16 · 17/11/2019 22:46

Thanks ladies. I’ll take your advice @KittyKatSmile as it seems to be working for you and @williteverhappen 🙂

@FrannyAnny82 no I’m not but my doc follows a similar protocol. Do faint positives count as bfp? AF isn’t due until Thursday so I was thinking of having intralipids on Friday but I’m scared it will be too late...I think I’ll just have it done tomorrow so I’m not worrying about it.

FrannyAnny82 · 17/11/2019 22:55

I reckon it counts @zoe16, I would go and have it done just to set your mind at restSmile

Wewin · 18/11/2019 00:25

@zoe16 that’s great news!!! Congratulations 💕 I remember you also need to start your clexane so you are doing all you can and being very proactive. So just take it a day at a time. Also, it might have been the hcg kicking in making you feel sick. Did you do anything different this cycle? (Me shamelessly looking for tips!).

@williteverhappen I used to have that quote on a sign in my house! I always wondered who originally said it! Good old Winnie the Pooh eh? Brilliant. And yes, the girls on this board are so supportive. Such a great group and I also feel very blessed as this journey is so hard and we need each other.

zoe16 · 18/11/2019 00:46

Thanks @Wewin yes I will start clexane after my first ultrasound week after next if all goes well (praying it does). I hope it was the hcg and not my NK kicking up a fit!
Things I did differently: pred, course of doxy and probiotics like we had discussed plus a huge med diet including lots of fresh veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds and beans. Also had fresh beetroot/ginger juice every morning an hour before my fertility smoothie. I will be staying on this diet for as long as I can. Have you tried the pineapple and Brazil nuts combo after ovulation?

Ultra26 · 18/11/2019 07:45

@zoe16 wonderful news! Wishing you nothing but the best!

Wewin · 18/11/2019 20:01

Hi @zoe16 your diet sounds great!! And yummy!! Yes I have tried that and everything else. I thought I ovulated yesterday but not sure, CD10. Awoke with really sharp uterus pain in middle of night. I seem to be getting many of the symptoms and clinical signs for adenomyosis which complicates things further. I just don’t think this is going to happen. Beginning to wind myself down off this journey.

chlo04 · 18/11/2019 21:01

Hi,

Just wondering how many months on dr Sheatta plan it has taken everyone to fall pregnant ? I've just done my second cycle and I'm 10dpo tomorrow and have a negative test .. feel like this is going to take forever.

What happens when you go back to visit him after you been on the medication for 2 cycles?

HoldingOn2Hope · 18/11/2019 23:06

Hi All,

So what seemed like a life time away, today was finally the day - my appt with Dr S!
I think It went well. He's not the caring type but more matter of fact and straight to the point - which is fine as long as he sorts my issues out!
Had a number of tests all done via blood test, I think about 12 in total. Cost a fortune so I hope it's worth it. I get results bk in 2 weeks and have a follow up with him.
I was only with him for 22 mins! Expected it to be at least an hour with the amount he charges for a initial consultation! I was then given the tests info and referred to the midwife who did my blood work.
I do feel positive as he's the only private consultant that's asked questions and carried out the tests. The others told me it's just bad luck however Dr S seems to think 3 consecutive mc's all at 8-10 weeks isn't a case of bad luck.
He's told me I can't ttc until results are bk - it's ovulation week this week so I feel a bit rubbish. I seem to get pms symptoms souring ovulation which I never got before my mc's. Was very teary and emotional last night but felt positive afternoon today's appt.
I'm not sure what to expect at the follow up appt, I'm just hoping I get sorted.
Xx

KittyKatSmile · 19/11/2019 06:51

@HoldingOn2Hope that is great news. I know it's frustrating about not being able to TTC this month but he would be very cross if you got pregnant and he didn't know how to treat it (I speak from bitter personal experience here!) There will definitely be something in the bloods that he can treat then you can really get on with things. Well done! This is the start!

HoldingOn2Hope · 19/11/2019 09:17

@KittyKatSmile Thank you! I can imagine him being cross as he was very firm about not ttc! Very firm! My nhs consultant has been very caring and supportive so I've been used to that, but saying that he's restricted to what he can do. Dr S on the other hand isn't very approachable (I did ask questions though) but I felt he will get things moving.
Where are you at now? Did he put you on a plan?

KittyKatSmile · 19/11/2019 09:51

@HoldingOn2Hope I don't think we should go into whether he put me on a plan as it doesn't make for comfortable reading although it's all there a few times lower down if you'd really like to read it! But I'm 24 weeks pregnant (thanks to IVF, pred, intralipids and not Dr S!!)
