A quick introduction to this thread.. it has been running for many years and is a group of women who have experienced recurrent miscarriage and are now exploring immune issues as a cause. We have members at all stages, from waiting for first appointments, mid treatment, to take home babies. Please join us if you are experiencing this too, loads of friendly advice here and somewhere to share your hopes and fears.

@weddinghelp1 I probably took it for 6 months and then had one final miscarriage doing it naturally. To be honest they didn't suggest it to me; I broke up with my partner after the last miscarriage and I moved onto IVF with a donor of my own accord. It can be very stressful but I liked having some sort of control over the situation and knowing that the doctors were taking the best bits (eggs, sperm, embryo) at every step. I was incredibly lucky as well because it worked first time for me, which I had never expected...
How long have you been trying?

Crystal2020 · 27/01/2020 22:30

Hi ladies, just wondering if anyone experienced mild stomach pain while they were getting used to taking the baby aspirin? Not sure if it’s just a coincidence but my stomach has felt unusually sore the past couple of evenings & I can’t think what else could be causing it (I’m not on any other meds yet). I’m not in agony by any means but doesn’t feel normal either. X

FrannyAnny82 · 28/01/2020 13:54

I did my 10dpo test today and got a BFN. But I've now started with light brown spotting which isn't normal for me. Could it be the pred or cyclogest? Am obviously hoping and praying it's implantation. Would love to hear anyone else's stories!

@Crystal2020 I didn't have any pain with the aspirin, but I do bruise quite badly now. I've heard that it can irritate stomachs though.

@KittyKatSmile Good for you! My husband and I have been through hell and I'd do exactly the same as you if we split up. Hope you're having a fab pregnancy x

HoldingOn2Hope · 28/01/2020 18:30

@FrannyAnny82
I took my 10dpo on Sunday and yday started spotting and it could heavier today so AF must have arrived early.

Lots of cramping and feeling a bit shaky after stopping pred. Xx

FrannyAnny82 · 28/01/2020 20:55

@HoldingOn2Hope It's probably the same for me. I feel sick and shaky too and with all my other pregnancies I've had a BFP by day 10. Everything crossed for us next month xx

Ultra26 · 29/01/2020 12:28

For those of you who are pregnant by IVF or contemplating IVF - how did you know that IVF was the next step? I'm worried we are jumping into this to soon but also the idea of optimising all parameters is very appealing.

Eeviee · 29/01/2020 13:38

@FrannyAnny82 could the spotting maybe be because you have stopped taking the progesterone? x

HoldingOn2Hope · 29/01/2020 13:39

@FrannyAnny82
Mine is definitely AF, so I guess it's time to take letrezole and start all this again. It comes around fast I suppose.
Hope we have better luck this next cycle xx

Eeviee · 29/01/2020 13:42

I was wondering if someone may be able to hep me with a question.
After my last (3rd) miscarriage, I asked for it to be tested and they found it was chromosomally normal. I understood that to mean that this last loss therefore probably wasn't due to my poor egg quality, and was more likely to do to immune issues or the fact that I have clotting problems with diagnosis of APS which cause sticky blood. But not sure if I am I right? Thank you xx

FrannyAnny82 · 29/01/2020 15:17

@Eeviee @HoldingOn2Hope I just dismantled my first response because I'm a nut job and found the faintest of lines! Have tried to call the nurses as not sure what to do about the steroids! X

Crystal2020 · 29/01/2020 16:45

Will keep everything crossed for you @FrannyAnny82. Let us know how you get on! X

Eeviee · 29/01/2020 17:14

@FrannyAnny82 do you mean whether to keep taking the steroids? Sorry I'm not sure what you should o, hopefully the nurses can advise. Either way, don't stress as an extra day of steroids shouldn't do you much harm and if you slipped a day and then gt BFP then missing day shouldn't be a problem as they'll be in your system.

Eeviee · 29/01/2020 17:15

@FrannyAnny82fingers crossed for you! I'm due to test tomorrow, I always dread test day as before then I have hope!

ginandtonicformeplease · 29/01/2020 17:49

@Ultra26 We were on IVF from the start due to male factor infertility. It's a tough path: it's also worth remembering that an IVF pregnancy is as likely to result in miscarriage as any other. Not all IVF clinics are on board with the immune theories, so you'd have to be careful where you went. Also, look on the HFEA website - all clinics have to report their statistics (such as number of live births) to the HFEA do you can see how successful ones near you are.

Ultra26 · 29/01/2020 18:00

@ginandtonicformeplease thank you for the reply and advice- we are looking to go abroad and the clinic is held in very high regard and do steroid treatment alongside. I do understand that there is just as much chance of miscarrying but I believe by picking the best embryo + steroid treatment this brings up up to normal chances of miscarriage. I don't know if I'm kidding my self but something needs to change. Wishing everyone the best of luck.

Ladies, we are about 8 messages away from the thread being full and we are kicked off. Is anyone up for creating the 'pred thread 24!'? How about our lovely @KittyKatSmile before she becomes a mummy? 🐱

ceebee21 · 29/01/2020 20:15

@Ultra26 which clinic are you looking at abroad if you don't mind me asking? X

Ultra26 · 29/01/2020 21:16

@ceebee21 it's called ISIS clinic in Nicosia Cyprus (Greek side)

KittyKatSmile · 29/01/2020 21:45

@Chickjen awwwww. I was looking at our message count as well. Will set up pred 24 now and tag everyone. We'll have to move over once this one reaches capacity.

@FrannyAnny82 I would keep up with the pred. It won't make any difference if you take another day before stopping.

See you on the flip side ladies x

MrsMargot · 02/02/2020 10:49

@zoe16 apologies I have no idea how I have missed your question! I am reducing 5mg every 5 days. So far so good. I had no side effect. I am on 5mg from tomorrow. How is it going other than that? All well this end. 😘😘😘😘

pickledsausage · 05/02/2020 17:59

Could someone tag me in the new thread please? I can’t see it
