Could be worth doing another pregnancy test then? I read that this is true about OPKs but also by the time they show on them, it would just as clearly show on HCG. Otherwise perhaps you are actually ovulating which might explain some symptoms maybe?

DamnShesaSexyChick · 23/09/2019 10:44

Not a single one of those tests was positive so posters really shouldn't have been saying they were. When you are pregnant the positive test is really obvious you should never have to stare at it for ages to see a line, there's always going to be an indentation line you can just about make out but it doesn't mean the test is positive.

DamnShesaSexyChick you can't speak for everyone. I can see a line!? I haven't said it's positive but I can for sure see a line.

Also, with my last 2 pregnancies I had to hold the test up to the light to see the positive. Normally just means you've tested way too early. . This was mine .. I'm now almost 15 weeks pregnant.

Agree with @jeffsar4, I'd BD today tomorrow and every other day after that for the week as well as keeping an eye on the OPK's, if it is a surge it's a good one so wouldn't want to waste it! Good luck.

LochNessMumster87 · 23/09/2019 13:48

Ive been so bored and anxious waiting to go to doctors and I started thinking maybe the opk was just a fluke. So I done another one for the hell of it.... Hey I've got like 100 why not lol its even darker now. Top ones the one I just done.

Hardheadedwoman39 · 23/09/2019 15:30

I hope the appointment goes well and you get some clarity x

NoseringGirl · 23/09/2019 16:20

How did the GP appointment go? Hope you're closer to getting an answer!

sredwards · 23/09/2019 17:28

@LochNessMumster87 I have done OPK's whilst I'm pregnant and they look
Exactly the same as yours. I'll show you a pic (green opk) xx

How did it go at the Doctors @LochNessMumster87?

LochNessMumster87 · 24/09/2019 08:53

Well.....well.....well......i have an update. I went to the doctor and explained everything. Showed him the tests. He said the first definitely looks positive. But he was worried they all got lighter after that. He explained chemical and asked if i had been bleeding or anything.... Which I haven't. I told him I haven't had a period for months because of pcos and the last time I done a hpt was about 2 and a half months ago. He done a test negative. But wondered why I still had so many symptoms. So he explained that its possible that because I only tested when I started feeling so strange that I could actually be a few weeks and not know, then he explained the hook effect. Where the hcg becomes too high and overpowers the tests. So he diluted my urine with some water, tested it again.... And..... Faint line. He said I could be anywhere from 6 to 8 week pregnant and instead of the tests becoming darker in early pregnancy the tests are becoming lighter to almost negative because the hcg is too high. So he took a blood test and we just need to wait and see now. I'm actually in shock. I could be a couple of months pregnant and I didn't even know shock shock shock! He said if the bloods come back positive I will be sent for a scan immediately! So maybe I'm not crazy after all lol xxx

SOooo happy to read this update! How exiting. OMG I bet you can’t wait to hear your HCG result! Have you kept your partner up to date or doesn’t he know any of this?

NoseringGirl · 24/09/2019 09:41

Very exciting! I had wondered about the hook effect when you'd posted but have only read about it as a theory on forums and never heard of it actually happening! Hope you don't have to wait long for the blood test result!

LochNessMumster87 · 24/09/2019 09:43

He doesn't know any of it! I've been waiting for a dark positive test to surprise him because he's so desperate for a baby I wouldn't want to get his hopes up and then he would be devistated if it was a chemical or something! I haven't told anyone anything! I've just bought loads of tests off ebay and I'm gonna get a cup of urine. And test then dilute then another test and dilute so every test has more diluted urine and see what happens!

LochNessMumster87 · 24/09/2019 09:46

Well I thought it was so strange why the tests were getting fainter but my symptoms were getting worse. It just didn't make sense. I knew something was going on, if I had tested earlier it might have been different, but I only took a test because I was constipated and I never ever have that. I can't believe I might be like 2 months pregnant, my head is spinning!

Omg how exiting!! I can't wait to see your update 😊
I soooo hope you are pregnant!

Rose87777 · 24/09/2019 09:54

How wonderful if you can surprise him. Makes me well up!

AloneLonelyLoner · 24/09/2019 09:58

I can't believe they haven't just sent you for a scan! So much quicker! Good luck OP!!

sheshootssheimplores · 24/09/2019 10:05

I thought the hook effect was nonsense? I can remember triggering an HPT fine throughout DS’s pregnancies!! Now I’m totally over invested and have everything crossed for you OP xx

emojisarentwords · 24/09/2019 10:27

Oh wow that is an excellent update!!! Fingers crossed for the blood test @LochNessMumster87 can't wait to hear your next update! X

LochNessMumster87 · 24/09/2019 10:49

The nightmare of pcos! You just don't know when to test! At least with regular periods you miss one... You test. With pcos you can not have a period for months and ovulate without even knowing it. Which clearly and hopefully is what's happened here!
