Morning Guys.
Sorry I've been missing for a while. The whole ttc situation had me getting stressed and felt like I needed some time away. But I was wondering if you guys had any advice.
I had some light spotting/bleeding yesterday with some cramping and thought that af had arrived but after a big temp dip on Sunday below cover line it went really high yesterday and even higher this morning. I've just taken a test and have a bfp. Could I be bleeding because of implantation or do you think I'm losing my bean before it's even had chance to get started?
Any advice would really help.

Welcome all the newbies 😊

@ValidUser sorry you are having a rubbish week :( hopefully the sunshine will give you a little pick me up! Maybe the break this cycle will be a positive thing, and then your body might be all geared up for next cycle!

@Lemonysherbet welcome back, hope you had a lovely time!

@Lozzlepop hope you are doing ok, and date night tomorrow will be lovely 😊

@hopeandpray1988 hopefully the bleeding will have been implantation, With the temp dip too it seems it could have been? I'm not totally sure but I don't think there will be a way to know, apart from just waiting it out. The temperature increases are definitely positive though, so will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Morning ladies!

@hopeandpray1988 what colour is the spotting?

@Lottiepink I am doing ok thanks hun, how are you? Yes looking forward to date night tonight!

Its meant to be 26 degrees here today, far too nice to be at work!

Lottiepink · 23/07/2019 09:45

@Lozzlepop haha sorry didn't realise you had posted that last night 🙈 it's far too nice to be at work 😢 especially in sweaty offices lol!

hopeandpray1988 · 23/07/2019 10:04

@Lozzlepop it was brown with some red. Thought af had arrived and was so sad... but today there's little to nothing and I got the positive on the test. Not sure what to think. 😕 xx

Lozzlepop · 23/07/2019 10:17

@Lottiepink haha its ok don't worry. I know, I am quite glad that I am in a shady office today so hopefully wont get too hot.

@hopeandpray1988 it could be implantation, just keep an eye on it and phone EPU if you are concerned/ gets any worse.

ELW85 · 23/07/2019 11:00

@ValidUser - so sorry you’re having such a terrible week, my dear.
Wish I could give you a hug or at least send you a pizza or something, but just know we’re here for you x

@hopeandpray1988 - this sounds really similar to what I went through last week (see my previous posts).
As @Lozzlepop has said, keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, or it goes to a fresh, bright red, get in touch with the Early Pregnancy Unit at your nearest hospital.

The advice I was given was that it’s likely to be implantation bleeding given the colour but that you need to take another test in 10 days/2 weeks to make sure you’re still pregnant and then they may get you in for an early reassurance scan (from 6 weeks).
Good luck and try to stay positive- I know how terrifying it is!!

hopeandpray1988 · 23/07/2019 12:17

@ELW85 and @Lozzlepop thanks for your advice. Been having some cramping this morning with a few sharp twinges.
Just worrying that the bleeding is a bad sign and don't want to get my hopes up. My positive line was quite strong on the test this morning (much better than on the picture I posted). I'll ring the epu tomorrow but do I need to go to the docs first to get referred there? Xx

@hopeandpray1988 - I honestly think the twinges are quite normal just based on my experience, but if you are worried, definitely call the EPU. You don’t need a GP referral.
The EPU may direct you to A&E (that’s what happened to me) but A&E will likely just tell you to do an HPT in a couple of weeks.
I’d take comfort from the HPT you have and ask a midwife for advice via the EPU.
I honestly get how scary it is, but it’s quite common in early pregnancy (about 30%) and if it’s brown, it’s old blood which is a good sign that it’s not an active bleed/likely implantation.
Some women also get hormonal bleeds when their periods would have been due, but this stops around 8-10 weeks when the placenta takes over.
Good luck, and call the EPU to put your mind at rest! X

Mrskcam · 23/07/2019 13:46

Just popping in to see how everyone is getting on?

LokiCat · 23/07/2019 17:13

@Lozzlepop thanks! The weather here is brilliant, as well - 31degrees currently so definitely enjoying myself (should probably try and learn something as well - got an exam on Friday!).
Enjoy date night tonight, you definitely deserve it! Let me know how The Lion King is Grin

@ELW85 hope your surprise date night on Sunday was lovely 😊

@ValidUser I'm so sorry for the bad week you've been having. I hope your car can be fixed and you're able to organize another night to celebrate your anniversary! Fingers crossed for you for your next cycle ❤️

@hopeandpray1988 as advice already given here, if it is worrying you then speak to the EPU, hopefully they can do some bloods to try and give you reassurance? Generally if it's active, fresh red bleeding then visit A&E/EPU.
Have everything crossed that all is okay!

@Mrskcam hope you're doing well!

Think we're going to enjoy a rooftop dinner somewhere tonight! Have a lovely evening all 😊

ELW85 · 23/07/2019 17:27

@LokiCat - hiya my dear! We went to our little restaurant on the quayside; it was lovely, thank you!
I hope the week away with work is ok so far? A rooftop restaurant sounds ideal!!

whatsthecraic91 · 23/07/2019 18:14

Been following this thread for a while, any advice/reassurance would be lovely!! CD18 and still no positive OPK! This is my second month using them and last month my positive was on CD17. They have been blank so far this cycle and last month I got a few with 2 lines leading up to the peak day! What does this mean! I am so worried my body isn’t working properly this is cycle 7 or us Confused

PippaPug · 23/07/2019 19:15

Hello ladies,
How is everyone?

@lozzlepop and @mrsh497 - The wedding was totally perfect and everything I dreamed of would be, the weather was a bit iffy but we managed to have the ceremony outside in between the rain, I loved every moment of it and I didn’t want it to finish! 72 hours later we have reached our first hotel for honeymoon Smile how are you both? X

ELW85 · 23/07/2019 19:37

@pippapug - congratulations!! I hope you have a wonderful honeymoon :)

@whatsthecraic91 - are you tracking any other signs like CM or temps? Your Ov day can vary from month to month, and you can go from nothing to peak in a space of hours, so you might not have caught it yet.

Anny27 · 23/07/2019 19:44

@pippapug congratulations - glad it went well :D

Hope everyone is managing to keep cool! And that those in their fertile window Still manage to DTD even in this heat haha!

Macbless · 23/07/2019 19:55

@PippaPug congratulations- so glad you had an amazing time. Enjoy the honeymoon!

@whatsthecraic91 I think I would advise not stressing too much about it and continue to DTD. I’ve had months with no positive OPK but i’ve had a temp rise afterwards to know i’ve Ovulated. Xx

Macbless · 23/07/2019 19:58

@littledinosaurs I always seem to have wobble in temp around ovulation. Also my temps on average are lot lower than everyone else’s. I feel well but i’ve Read that low temps can be a sign of hypothyroidism. Part of me wants to rush to the GP but I don’t have any other signs and i’ve Just put it down to checking my temps at 3.30am!!!!! How long have you been doing natural cycles? X

whatsthecraic91 · 23/07/2019 20:47

@ELW85 I’m not temping but I am monitoring my CM which has been EW the last few days so that’s a good sign I suppose! I can only do my OPK when I get home from work around 5.30pm and I always limit my drinks and do a 3/4 hour hold!

@Macbless yea we are DTD a lot so hopefully we have it covered! Just getting worried as I’ve never been pregnant before and we have been trying since new year

ELW85 · 23/07/2019 21:39

@whatsthecraic91 - ah I see. If you have a short surge, you might miss it if you do them once a day, but the EWCM is usually a few days before Ov so it sounds like you’re gearing up for it!

Larrydavid · 24/07/2019 01:10

@ValidUser sorry to hear your having a crappy week. Hope it gets better for you 💛

@LokiCat roof top dinner sounds lovely!

@hopeandpray1988 fingers crossed everything is ok for you and you get some reassurance x

@Lemonysherbet welcome back! Your travels sound interesting! Was it for work?

@PippaPug so happy your wedding was everything you'd hoped! Enjoy your honeymoon

@Anny27 we seem to get hysterical DTD in fertile week/ the heat. It's ridiculous but very amusing. I think I'm ovulating tomorrow/ Thursday then we might take a couple of days off!

Larrydavid · 24/07/2019 01:12

Guys, a quick book recommendation from me if you haven't already read it: Period Power by Maisie Hill. It's the most informative thing I've read about cycles and hormones - kinda wish I'd found it sooner rather than all the internet black holes I've fallen down.

MrsH497 · 24/07/2019 06:23

@ValidUser hope your week picks up sorry it's been crappy
@PippaPug so glad you had a good day! Where are you on honeymoon? I'm ok thank you plodding along and hoping to smep this cycle!

Everyone else have a cracking thunderstorm last night?!

Makingawish · 24/07/2019 08:19

How is anybody managing to DTD in this heat?! I’m starting day 1 of SMEP tonight and I’m dreading it already! Think I’ll put my bedsheets in the freezer beforehand 🤣
