TTC in August Looking for a BFP

Hi,
Thought I'd start a thread for those of us looking for a BFP in August. I'm ttc #2. Have a DS of 3.3. I'm current on CD15 - OD day - with a bit of luck. Have been bd'ing like mad over my fertile days and will continue to do so for a few more days yet. Then it will just be the 2ww. Anyone else in situation?

ooh looneytune - it does sound hopeful . I know it is hard as you read into absolutely every symptom.

I am not feeling hopeful this month as I have been having my usual light bleeding for the past 3 days, but at least I am one step further forward in having a date to hopefully sort this out!

ladylush · 08/08/2007 19:42

Thanks upsidedowncake and looneytune. LT - really hope your symptoms are pregnancy ones. The bumps around the nipples sound promising as does the metallic taste. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

ladylush · 09/08/2007 12:40

Everyone out enjoying the sunshine?

looneytune · 09/08/2007 12:57

I was but just popped back as about to make lunch. I know this sounds really sad but I have a crystal that I ask questions to like if I've lost something etc and it's usually right and it says I'm definitely NOT pg So, ignoring this taste etc. and just waiting to see what happens.

How are you?

ladylush · 09/08/2007 14:40

How does the crystal answer you? Maybe the crystal can't detect early pregnancy

tigerschick · 09/08/2007 14:43

Hi ladies

Ladylush - that is exactly what I was just wondering. Maybe it's too early for the crystal to be able to tell.

Loonytune - it's probably best if you try and relax - I know, I know - and see what happens. Don't get too excited either way, it you can possibly help it ... and if you can't, tell me to sod off and vent away

looneytune · 09/08/2007 14:51

Ladylush - you hover it over your hand and it's still, then you ask questions and it swings up/down for yes and left/right for no. It's got some remarkable things right before but thinking about it, it has been wrong. I feel stupid for trying it tbh, no idea why I'm like this when just started TTC, I'm just getting on with my day now as lost hope and then IF I end up with a BFP then great.

tigerschick - I know, I'm being REALLY STUPID. Never been like this before and only just came off the pill before last AF so first month of trying. It's like I put off trying for another for so long due to being busy looking after everyone elses children (ds now 4.4) and then now I've started trying, I want it NOW. Crazy I know, don't know what on earth has got into me. I suppose because I have babies here every day who started at 7 weeks (now 7 months) and 8 weeks (now 5 months), I've become very broody and don't want to wait.

Anyway, I've been busier today so sort of managing to take my mind off it more. Just hard when you have a constant funny taste in your mouth to remind you of what you hope that means!!!

Anyway, little baby mindee just woken up so need to go and get her.

If I start going off on one again later, give me a huge virtual slap as I need it

ladylush · 09/08/2007 14:58

Well it sounds fascinating but I think I would lose my patience with it and throw it across the room or something if it gave me an answer I didn't want, then I would worry about 7 years bad luck for breaking glass (or does that only apply to glass mirrors). Anyway, I think you need to try and chill out (as Tigerschick suggests)but I know it's difficult - especially as you look after babies. The 10 miu pregnancy tests are very sensitive so you can get a bfp only 8 days after ovulation. Have you got any? If not, you can get them on-line. Access diagnostics have a range.

looneytune · 09/08/2007 15:04

PMSL I know, I seriously need to chill out!! I'm really surprised at my own behaviour, I really am!

And.......yes, I bought some tests from ebay and they were dispatched today. It's a pack of 10 and were cheap so not sure what they're like but the write up was good, lots of positive feedback etc. so fingers crossed. They said they are the NHS 10miu ones so going to at least try them.

Right, baby has gone back to sleep so I'm going to go outside and get the washing down and keep myself busy til she wakes up for her bottle.

ladylush · 09/08/2007 15:12

Don't feel ashamed - we all do crazy things when ttc.

tigerschick · 09/08/2007 15:19

Hmmm, crazy, hmmm ... I've just been trying to decide whether to order some opks from ebay today, or leave it until after the weekend. I don't want them to arrive too late, but, if I order them today there is a good chance they will arrive on Saturday when my mum is staying and I'll get the third degree about what the parcel was!! Crazy, crazy, crazy

ladylush · 09/08/2007 15:31

Tell her it's sex aids - that should end the conversation

tigerschick · 09/08/2007 15:37

Have decided to order on Saturday morning before she gets here. Should be here Monday or Tuesday which will be plenty early enough - hopefully

ladylush · 09/08/2007 15:46

What ones are you ordering? I bought some cheap ones in Tesco before I conceived so might try them soon. Instructions say to avoid liquids 2 hrs prior to testing. Bit difficult if weather hot.

tigerschick · 09/08/2007 17:09

I found some on ebay that come with 20 opks and 10 hpts. Not sure how reliable they will be but worth it as they are about £6 inc p&p. Planning to go for the 'every other day rule' anyway, just to be on the safe side

Dh is gutted

Bellie · 09/08/2007 19:20

ladylush - I use them first thing in the morning - don't have to worry about the 2 hour drinking then! Also means that if +ve you can go back to bed!!

ladylush · 09/08/2007 20:43

Your dh is lucky - wots he complaining about?! My ones say not to use fmu - not sure why.

moodymoo · 09/08/2007 21:56

Hiya , the opk's are supposed to be done mid afternoon as that is the best time to detect the hormone - you only have something like 36 hours after it has been detetected so if you do it in the morning and it isn't strong enough to be detected you may end up missing it comletely. They say not to drink for a few hours before testing as it could dilute the sample. Can't u tell I have been doing too much reading!. You can get some good prices on ebay for opks - bought some clearblue ones the other day for £5 - not bad considering I paid £4 for the cheap ones that werent even very good.
Am now CD22 - so AF should be here soon - have had niggly belly pains last few days so reckon little chance of a BPF this month.
Got really upset yesterday when heard that a friend had given birth - know should have been happy but was really hard and a colleague is due any day now and I feel actual hatred towards her. Can't even talk about it. Not cos I am a horrible person but cos they have got there babies and I haven't and mine would have been due 14 days ago. Sorry to get all heavy but just needed to get off my chest. Wouldn't dream of telling anyone in RL cos they would just think I was a horrible person. Anyway just ignore this little rant.
Am going to Durham for the weekend with SIL and her kids - hope it doesn't rain. WIll help pass the last few days of the 2ww - should know by Wednesday anyway.
Looneytune - when are you planning on doing a pg test?Got my fingers crossed for you anyway.

boozle · 10/08/2007 07:42

AAAAAArrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh!!!! Now between two and four days overdue and still a BFN.

All I want are two little matching lines. Is that really so much to ask for? It's hardly a race horse or a string of pearls.

Bellie · 10/08/2007 07:46

oh moodymoo it doesn't make you a horrible person at all. I know exactly what you mean - I had a friend who was due 2 weeks before my edd and I couldn't have her come and stay when she was 4 month pg as I couldn't bear to see her! .
You let it out on here thats what mn is for!!!

ladylush · 10/08/2007 09:07

Moody you really can't help how you feel so don't beat yourself up about it. I feel ok about people I don't know being pg but if it was a mate I would find it very difficult.

ladylush · 10/08/2007 16:06

Good news ladies - my period arrived today (4 weeks after EPRC) so I am very pleased. It means next week I will be able to start using my opks.

Bellie · 10/08/2007 16:35

it's not very often you see people pleased on here to get their period!!

looneytune · 10/08/2007 18:32

Great news Ladylush, now you can get that out of the way and get down to business

I couldn't believe how excited I was to get last AF but that was because I'd just come off the pill and couldn't wait to get started. Any future AF's are NOT welcome unless it's after having another!!!
