TTC in August Looking for a BFP

libralady · 23/07/2007 15:57

Hi,
Thought I'd start a thread for those of us looking for a BFP in August. I'm ttc #2. Have a DS of 3.3. I'm current on CD15 - OD day - with a bit of luck. Have been bd'ing like mad over my fertile days and will continue to do so for a few more days yet. Then it will just be the 2ww. Anyone else in situation?

oooh good luck Bellie.

You know when I was at school, about half our form were born in April or May. Not just a popular month for anniversaries, eh?

AussieSim · 07/08/2007 05:15

Congratulations Scorpio and Upsidedowncake. Why pretend I am not though ?

daydreamer1 · 07/08/2007 09:48

Hi, I'd like to join you all if that's ok. I'm TTC no 2 and have 2.5 year old. I'm CD 4. How is everyone getting on?

kensgirl · 07/08/2007 10:47

YEY!!!

Congrats to Upsidedowncake too!

I hope these August BFP's are contagious! Particuarly liking Tigers theory about Anniversary antics.....It was ours on Sunday!

ronshar · 07/08/2007 10:55

Yipee to you both Scorpio and upsidedown cake, sending lots of Leo luck your way!!(Its my birthday this week).
If you are due in April you will have a fire sign baby. Watch out for them.

daydreamer1 · 07/08/2007 10:58

This sounds like a lucky thread. Congratulations to ladylush and upsidedowncake! Please send some baby dust my way.

My anniversary was 2 months ago but my first baby was conceived around my anniversary.

looneytune · 07/08/2007 12:47

Just spent ages catching up with this thread, well done to those with BFP's and good luck to the rest. I'm only on CD17 and last couple of days had sore boobs, crying for no reason, feeling queezy and sometimes dizzy, plus needing toilet lots more HOWEVER, I've had a chat with others on here and now believe it was just a sign of ovulating So.....will need to wait another week/week and halfish (not sure how long cycle is as first month after pill).

Congrats to all others who have anniversary's coming up, ours is Saturday and will be our 6th wedding anniversary (11 years together). Still trying to decide whether or not I can have a drink, don't want to risk things just in case but then I was drinking in first week of pg with ds as didn't know. Oh decisions, decisions!!!

Right, off to make some lunch but just wanted to say hello and fingers crossed to all others still trying!

ladylush · 07/08/2007 18:15

daydreamer - not me alas. You meant Scorpio I have no idea where I am in my cycle as I haven't yet had my period post ERPC. CM looking quite promising though

tigerschick · 07/08/2007 18:27

Hi ladylush. How are you today? Glad to hear that things might be looking promising

Everyone else OK?

ladylush · 07/08/2007 18:43

Hi Tigerschick. I'm on a bit of a downer this week but I suppose it's abnormal to be quite so ok after recent events. Could be hormones too. I am hoping I'm pre-menstrual (for once!) and that I don't feel like this for weeks. Have you started clomid yet? Sorry if I haven't been paying attention as much as I should - was distracted by the bfps

ladylush · 07/08/2007 18:45

What supplements are people taking? I've just realised that the ones I've switched too (sanatogen pronatal) only have 330mg folic acid which is too low. What a waste of money - will have to go and get higher dose now. Anyone taking magnesium or evening primrose oil?

tigerschick · 07/08/2007 18:48

Ooh - spooky - just got back from dd's bath (she's now watching In the Night Garden) and you'd just posted!! It's the vibes

Sorry to hear you've been a bit down. I guess, like you say, it's only natural. You must give yourself time to grieve (not sure if that is the right word). I can't imagine what it must be like, but I hope that you are feeling brighter soon

I haven't started the Clomid yet, I finished the Provera on Sunday and am now waiting for the period that it should have induced. Then I can take Clomid on days 2-6. Thing is, a lot of people say they turn into absolute crazy women when they are on Clomid, and, if things go according to plan, I'll be taking it over this weekend ... when I'm staying in Nottingham with some friends and going on a girly night out

moodymoo · 07/08/2007 19:54

LadyLush - I used to take pregnacare as a consultant recommended it to my friend when she was pg with twins. Told her it had everything that the babies needed.I aren't taking anything at the moment as am on such a large dose of folic acid I don't think I should add any more and all the supplements have it in. Strangely though I was in boots today looking at supplements and I saw one called mumomega, which is omega 3 & 6 specially blended for pregnant/ttc women. It is supposed to help with babies brain development. Was planning on asking if anyone on here had any info on this before I buy any.Reckon it is worth ago but is quite expensive at £12. Pregnacare do one called pregnancare plus which is usual supplement plus an omega 6 supplement.

Tigerschick - looks like you could be in for a good weekend - hope you have warned your friends though - don't want them thinking you have gone mad

Upsidedowncake · 07/08/2007 20:19

Thanks for all the messages everyone. And much babydust to you all.

Re pregnacare and other supplements, I thought you were only supposed to take folic acid and eat a very healthy diet - unless you have a specific condition. I'd be worried about taking too much of one thing if I was eating healthily too. [removes worm protein from organic lettuce thoughtfully]

ooh looney tune, could be good news. Fingers crossed! I ovulated very early when I came off the progesterone only pill. I don't know about the combined pill though.

Upsidedowncake · 07/08/2007 20:25

Oh and pregnancy symptoms ...

burst into tears at story about boss' ds2. When he was brought home from hospital, ds1 (aged 20 months) handed new baby brother his comforter, without which he had never been seen, and said, 'for baby now'.

Boss said he'd never made anyone cry at work before.

And I have these new water balloons floating around my chest. I'm only 5 weeks or something, and I've gone up two sizes, bigger than when I was bf. I almost suffocated ds1 this morning.

moodymoo · 07/08/2007 20:35

Upsidedown case LOL at the water balloons! When I was pg I went up 2 sizes straighaway - went to get measured and the lovely assistant at Debenhams felt it her duty to tell me that my boobs were going to be enormous by end of my pregnancy , not what I wanted to hear - they aren't exactly small at the best of times and they hurt like hell. Ended up coming away without a bra cos they just don't do them 'that big'!Load of rubbish - Mothercare didn't seem to have that problem.
Best start keeping box of tissues on your desk

moodymoo · 07/08/2007 21:28

whoops - cake not case

boozle · 08/08/2007 08:30

Morning all, and hearty congratulations to Upsidedowncake.

I am now waiting for AF at any time. I've decided not to test as all the signs are that it would be a BFN. My only hope now is that AF arrives today or tomorrow, or I will otherwise end up having to have next month off as I will be away from DH at the critical time (stupid miscalculation of holiday dates on my part; maths never was my strong point!).

looneytune · 08/08/2007 09:56

Upsidedowncake - I hope it is good news but I've got in my head that it was just me ovulating so we'll see. I feel terrible as been really ratty with ds too, he has been naughty but it's not any worse than usual but my reactions have been iyswim.

Can I ask a couple of questions to you experts who know these things ....

  1. Do you tend to be more horny and wanting lots of sex when you're ovulating? About a week and half ago I just couldn't get enough but since I've been feeling queezy, bloated, sore boobs, emotional etc etc, I've not been bothered (which worries me as if I'm ovulating now, I need to be doing it more but I like to want it and not just do it coz I feel I should - does that make sense?!)

  2. IF I am not successful and decide to take this route.....how do these ovulation kits works? Do you have to start on a certain day or can you use one when you THINK you're ovulating and they confirm?

You see, I'm clueless!!! Never watched out for ovulating etc. before and all 3 pg's I've had, I've conceived in first cycle and had symptoms really early.

looneytune · 08/08/2007 12:27

Getting really fed up with this metallic taste I've had since yesterday, worse today though - another sign of ovulating? Gosh, can't wait til I'm back with mindee tomorrow (I'm a childminder) as this not working is giving me too much time to think about it all!!!!

ladylush · 08/08/2007 13:16

Loony - hope it's good news

Tigers - hope you're not too mental at the weekend but don't worry as I'm sure you can claim diminished responsibility should anything untoward happen Tbh I don't know about grieving - I just want a baby. That is the only thing that is going to make me feel ok.

Upsidedowncake · 08/08/2007 17:00

Ladylush, I hope you get your wish soon. Good luck.

Tigerschick - let us know how it goes in Nottingham.

Looneytunes - I know when I'm ovulating as I behave like a teenage boy and then a nun for the three weeks after that. I would have thought that after horny period, you would have had to wait a few days without any symptoms for it to implant. But the other things sound exactly how I have been feeling.

Off to pick up ds1 from nursery.

looneytune · 08/08/2007 17:36

Cheers Upsidedowncake. I was really horny about a week and half ago and then since about Sunday (so roughly week later) I've had the following (starting with what came first):

Queezy on and off since Sunday (thought was Saturday but worked out that was wrong)
Sore Boobs
Crying for no reason
More stressed with ds than usual
Tired
Bloated & sore tummy (thought sore from lots of sex Fri/Sat)
Weeing more frequently
the following only started today....
Dull ache like period pains but not as bad
Funny metallic taste in mouth - some food/drink doesn't taste right
Spotty things on brown part round nipples

I'm trying not to read into it too much but it is hard isn't it. Especially want to know as I like things like strong tea, diet coke and other foods/drinks you shouldn't have when pg so obviously I want to know either way asap and stop things IF i am.

Here's hoping I ovulated early but I won't be able to do early test til Tuesday. Just bought pack of 10 on ebay cheap but not sure what they'll be like. God, I'm driving myself mad with this, I don't know why as I never did before!!!!

looneytune · 08/08/2007 17:38

Ladylush - thanks I hope you don't have to wait too long. I remember I had quite a wait for AF after ERPC but I can't remember how long. Hopefully you're will arrive soon so you can start working on TTC again
