Hoping this is our lucky month! Fingers crossed for everyone x

Evening everyone!
Hope everyone's ok.
I'm trying SMEP this month so just DTD as on cd8... sorry if TMI. Fingers crossed it works! 🤞🏻 I've DT every day (during fertile days) in the past so hoping this gives me a bit of a break! I've read things about spermicide not being as high quality of u DTD every day anyway but I also have friends who swear that's the only reason they've gotten pg... who knows?! All luck really I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️ x

Sorry that autocorrect was bad... should double check before I post! X

@ttc19 welcome Smile

@mumof1hants Your 2 days behind me we have managed to DTD CD 8 and CD10 so going good so far. CD 11 today whoo hoo rest day!!!! Are you starting OPKS tomorrow. I started this morning and had a blank circle on CB (4 day) so I think i'm going to wait until CD 13 to do another one. I'm hoping to get a static smiley on CD 14 it will work out perfect to do the SMEG method that way with OH shifts. Are you going to try the Pineapple?

PheobeBuffet · 11/06/2019 09:49

Hopping on board if that's OK!

TTC : #1 (MC Jan 18)
Cycle: 2
Age: 35
CD: 1
AF: 10/7 (roughly)

Had a weird month as af was early in May, which made me think I was late this month - cue mucho peeing on sticks!! When I checked back though last months seems to have been a blip and I'm back to normal this month... Hopefully.

First two months proper trying, rather than just going bareback and hoping for the best (sorry! 😂) Using bbt and opks for the first time this month - maybe seems a bit early on to be breaking out the big guns but i feel if I know more rather than leave it to chance it will stop me obsessing so much in tww.

Fingers crossed we are on a lucky bus 😬

mumof1hants · 11/06/2019 10:02

Welcome @PheobeBuffet & @ttc19

@Sophieb15 yeah I'm going to start the cheapy one step OPKs tomorrow. I think my partner will be on night shifts when I ovulate so he'll just have to wake me up! The temping isn't going so well... it's all over the place! I wake up a lot in the night and think that's affecting it. I wasn't going to do the pineapple, I got awful heartburn for days when I tried to use it to induce labour with DC1... its put me off a bit! X

OP posts:
Sophieb15 · 11/06/2019 10:29

@PheobeBuffet Welcome!!!! The OPK's are good because at least you know exactly when you ovulate and hopefully you will be lucky. I'm on cycle 5 and feeling very positive this month Smile

@mumof1hants My OH works 7pm-7am and my LO wakes at 7am (sometimes 6.30Shock so we can't BD when he comes in Sad The temping is so hard when you wake at night it def wouldn't work for me. I found it stressed me out!! Everyone is very quiet at the moment on this I'd say it will get very busy in a week or so Hmm

PheobeBuffet · 11/06/2019 11:32

Thanks @Sophieb15 ☺️ fingers crossed for you this month 🤞🏻

The 'later' my period was getting this month, the more I was getting my hopes up and imagining symptoms and lines on tests - was all I could think about, totally skipped the gym and then stuffed my face so I really want to get back to normal this week. Couldn't do this every month it would drive me mad. I'm feeling like it's a fresh start this month! At least I'll be able to pin point ovulation (hopefully!) it fascinates me as well 🤓

mumof1hants · 11/06/2019 12:36

@Sophieb15 ah I see, that's annoying. Hopefully O will fall when predicted for you then. Yes I definitely think it'll start getting busier on here in a week or so... I'll probably be on here asking opinions on every little 'symptom' once we start the dreaded TWW! You will need to help keep me sane! 😂

@PheobeBuffet so frustrating about the period. Mine was a week early the first month we started trying... I then had no idea when to test and got all excited when my period was 2 days late 😤 I started taking seven seas conception to help regulate a bit more. Are you taking anything? X

OP posts:
Sophieb15 · 11/06/2019 12:57

@mumof1hants we will need to help each other!! I have a very busy month planned to keep myself busy. I'm away for a night this weekend for my in laws 25 year wedding anniversary. Then have a concert next Tue. Then have a spa day and night out with the girls sat week. Then another concert on Fri 29th Smile. My downfall is work is quiet at the moment so from Mon - Fri my i end up driving myself mad during the TWW.

@PheobeBuffet I did the skipping the gym during the TWW last month and drove myself crazy!! so this month I am making sure I work out at least 4 times a week and I'm even making sure I go walking at the weekend for extra exercise to keep my mind off everything. I love being able to come here though and talk about it during the day and talk to ladies in the same position.

Emma272 · 11/06/2019 14:58

Hi @Sophieb15

Thanks for your post re: SMEP
I showed my DH and he says let's give it a go!! I'm on CD5 in TTC cycle 8, so we're going to go out tonight and get some OPKs ready for CD10!

Xx

PheobeBuffet · 11/06/2019 15:17

@mumof1hants definitely frustrating! At first I was trying not to think of it then by Saturday I had convinced myself I was up the duff. That bfn on Sunday was a hard one so I'm gonna lay off the tests! Plus £££😳 Im going to start taking evening primrose capsules for ewcm as I don't seem to get any (or am not rummaging enough!) and I was going to pick up some seven seas after work. Read good reviews about them so 🤞🏻

@Sophieb15 I feel a bit silly actually looking back on it! I've been working so hard the past few months and was really feeling a difference mentally and noticing improvements and feel like i ruined it all (I know I didn't I just have the grumps today haha) but yeah, definitely going to keep it up and stop bloody googling!!

Am glad I found this post, we can all help each other with the tww madness

mumof1hants · 11/06/2019 15:31

I think you're both amazing for going to the gym! I went loads before DC1... never now! I need to do something to keep me busy in the TWW this time.. I was reading into every little thing last time. So disappointing when you then get a BFN. Determined not to this cycle.

On another note, has anyone tried pre-seed?

OP posts:
Sophieb15 · 11/06/2019 15:48

@mumof1hants I have tried preseed 2 of the months but I really didn't like using it it makes it too slippy even if you only use a tiny bit. Sorry if TMI but it made it not enjoyable. I find I have a lot of EWCM mine has started already on CD 11 and it is there when I wipe I don't have to check for it.

@PheobeBuffet Our Plan is to not test until after 14 DPO so everyone on this thread is going to try help each other out to be strong.

'@Emma272 That's brilliant I think anything is worth a try and I find it good so far I'm on CD 11 and we DTD on CD 8 and 10 so far. I find it ends up like doing the dishes if we do it too much. With SMEP there is 3 days in a row which will be hard but I will try anything.

I think I may have gone mad though. I applied for a new job yesterday and got a call today I've an interview Thursday morning. Shock I don't want TTC to take over my life and stop me from a good opportunity and it is a lot more money too Confused

mumof1hants · 11/06/2019 16:31

@Emma272 & @Sophieb15 totally know what u mean about DTD too much. It makes it a huge chore. I think this'll be better.

Wow Sophie, well done on the interview though! I agree, u cant let it hold it back... especially if it's more money. That could really help in the long run. Are you definitely going to go for it? Xx

OP posts:
Sophieb15 · 11/06/2019 16:40

@mumof1hants Thanks Smile I'm going to go for the interview anyway and see how I get on. The job i'm in currently is okay but I've been waiting a year for an answer on whether they will pay me 4 months maternity leave (when it does happen) and I'm the only girl working here so its not like they will need to give it to everyone, they just keep putting me off maybe if I do hand in my notice they will pull their socks up and offer me a better package Confused

mumof1hants · 11/06/2019 19:49

@Sophieb15 what!!? That's not on. I thought I'd you'd been in a job more than 26 weeks they had to pay u maternity? I may be wrong tho! X

OP posts:
MrsFoggy · 11/06/2019 20:29

I'm jumping on!

TTC: #2
Cycle: 1
Age: 36 (turn 37 in July)
CD 25
AF/BFP due: 19th July

Sophieb15 · 12/06/2019 11:55

@mumof1hants I live in Ireland and everything in still behind. It is up to the company to pay maternity leave. We just get 26 weeks paid from the government but its not much so its up to an employer then whether to give you the difference for the 26 weeks x I'm in my current position 3 years and I am the only female in the company it is a joke I'm waiting so long for an answer.

CB 4 day can be frustrating too CD 12 now today and plain circle(negative) but loads of EWCM since yesterday and dull ache in lower abdomen. Last month I was getting flashing smileys for 5 days before I got my static smiley!!!

Does anyone else get back O pain?

Welcome @MrsFoggy

NLouise123 · 12/06/2019 13:16

Jumping on!

Finally AF arrived 6 days late on CD 36.

TTC: 1
Cycle: 2
Age: 26
CD : 1
BFP/AF: 10th July!

Not too sure if I OV last month. Just happy that I've completed one full cycle after my pill. Onto the next!

mumof1hants · 12/06/2019 16:59

Welcome @NLouise123 & @MrsFoggy to the July bus!

@Sophieb15 oh I didn't realise that rules were different there - sorry! How annoying for you. Hopefully you get some answers soon!

I don't get O pain so not sure about that. I've never used clear blue OPKs either... I hear a lot of people talking about them though - are they expensive? So does no flashing smiley mean that you're not near O yet? X

OP posts:
Sophieb15 · 12/06/2019 17:10

@mumof1hants It's weird the first month I used them I had 2 flashing faces which meant high fertility then a static face which meant peak. Then 2nd month I just had peak Ovulation on them which was a static face. 3rd month 5 days of flashing and then peak. Now I'm on CD 12 and negative so it's weird.the first 2 months was the one holder. and now this month its the same holder as last month so I wonder does it store the data from the previous month.

They are supposed to be the best but yes they are expensive.

MrsFoggy · 12/06/2019 18:23

@Sophieb15 @mumof1hants Thank you! I'm excited (and terrified) to start this journey again.

I'm going straight in with the ClearBlue & Conceive Plus. After 6 cycles and no joy last time, they worked the first month we tried them... I need to get this show on the road before my DS convinces us that one is enough (currently a stroppy angry toddler).

Which given I think we've DTD maybe five times in 18 months, this could actually kill my DH 😂

Lauralozzle · 12/06/2019 18:27

Thanks @Sophieb15 - I have so much to learn! I'd been tracking my periods for a while, as I like to know when my period is roughly due, but it feels different now we're actually TTC. It's cool that we're on the same cycle day! Wow, I thought my cycle was ahead of most people's here!

Think my period might be a tad late this month, no sign of ovulation yet and this time last cycle I was having EWCC. Started using OPKs these past two days, but they're all negative at the moment.

I've been reading sperm meets egg plan, managed to schedule BD today. We did also BD on Sunday but he had drank too much (we went out) so that didn't really go anywhere.... I don't want to pressure him, or make it feel scheduled, but I hope we can keep it up as I've heard lots of good things in my googling!

Sophieb15 · 13/06/2019 10:32

@MrsFoggy We are on Cycle 5 and my OH doesn't know what hit him the last few months. We would normally only DTD once a weekShock Maybe try SMEP as at least its every 2nd day until positive OPK Smile

@Lauralozzle Cycle day 13 today whoo hoo and I had a flashing smiley this morning(high fertility) I had EWCM last 2 days a good bit of it when I wiped. Some months I get more than others I had 5/6 days of EWCM last month. I ovulate between cd 15-cd 18. Just when you get your positive OPK expect you period 14 days later Smile
I try not to tell me OH when I'm ovulating but i did tell him about the SMEP so every 2nd day up until Positive OPK. I will just have to instigate it then for the 3 days in a row Shock I try to make it interesting and not stress out too much if it doesn't happen.

Lauralozzle · 13/06/2019 13:13

@Sophieb15 yay for positive opk!

So, this morning had EWCM, did an opk with FMU and got a negative. Did another one at about 12 at work, negative and lighter than the one this morning. Will do another after dinner this evening- it must be approaching as I’m feeling very lubricated (sorry TMU)

I’ve not told DH about SMEP as I don’t want to freak him out and have him change his mind. But given EWCM will instigate BM - all he knows is ‘we’ll have to have more sex’ to which he applied, rather sarcastically, ‘oh dear’ so I do not think he’ll mind a bit!
