@FlapJackered got a response from an Adia expert already! On aspirin she says:
‘There are clearly a proportion of people who have issues with blood clotting, and treating this issue, if diagnosed, makes a difference. However, taking aspirin without evidence of any clotting issue is not of any benefit, and may in fact increase your risk of miscarriage. So I would not suggest that you take it without having done these tests.’
So I am definitely not going to take it now unless the consultant next week says I need it. So glad I looked it up!!
They also sent me some really, really useful information in the email too - i’m going to print it and take it with me next week :) It sounds like progesterone pessaries really couldn’t hurt.
She also included the below info:
‘One line of research you may find interesting is that which suggests that ‘hyper-fertile’ women, who conceive very quickly, may be at higher risk of miscarriage. There is a growing suspicion that in women who conceive very quickly, the linings of their wombs may be too ‘accepting’ of lower quality embryos which are destined to miscarry.’
I find this so interesting and it would explain a lot I guess given I’ve conceived three times in 9 months. So going to ask about this line of research too!!
All in all - thanks so much for the Adia recommendation and if anyone has any burning questions for the pros I’d definitely suggest sending them a message!
