@cupcakesandglitter intrauterine insemination. In an office it usually involves some kind of semen purification process. We'd skip that bit and just create a sterile field and put a catheter into my cervix and inject the baby batter. Highly glamorous.

cupcakesandglitter · 30/05/2019 23:36

@ValidUser ooh sounds sexy 😂 is it something everyone can do? X

ValidUser · 30/05/2019 23:38

@cupcakesandglitter not a difficult process but poses a risk of infection if you're not well versed in aseptic technique/able to prescribe yourself antibiotics.

@ValidUser I'll leave it to the professionals then 😩 let us know how you get on!! Although I have a really good feeling for you tbh, I'm certain you're getting your BFP soon x

ValidUser · 30/05/2019 23:43

@cupcakesandglitter here's hoping we all have babies this time next year. X

@FlapJackered got a response from an Adia expert already! On aspirin she says:

‘There are clearly a proportion of people who have issues with blood clotting, and treating this issue, if diagnosed, makes a difference. However, taking aspirin without evidence of any clotting issue is not of any benefit, and may in fact increase your risk of miscarriage. So I would not suggest that you take it without having done these tests.’

So I am definitely not going to take it now unless the consultant next week says I need it. So glad I looked it up!!

They also sent me some really, really useful information in the email too - i’m going to print it and take it with me next week :) It sounds like progesterone pessaries really couldn’t hurt.

She also included the below info:

‘One line of research you may find interesting is that which suggests that ‘hyper-fertile’ women, who conceive very quickly, may be at higher risk of miscarriage. There is a growing suspicion that in women who conceive very quickly, the linings of their wombs may be too ‘accepting’ of lower quality embryos which are destined to miscarry.’

I find this so interesting and it would explain a lot I guess given I’ve conceived three times in 9 months. So going to ask about this line of research too!!

All in all - thanks so much for the Adia recommendation and if anyone has any burning questions for the pros I’d definitely suggest sending them a message!

@MrsEG that must be such a relief to have some clear advice on the Aspirin. On the hyper fertility thing my cousin had two missed miscarriages and she thinks it was to do with hyper fertility too. She gets pregnant every month she tries. I know it's not always comforting to hear these sort of comparative stories but she is now nearly 30 weeks with her baby. There is some information on it here too if you're interested:

The Asia website sounds so amazing. I wonder if I might go on and see if they can answer my supplement question. Did you have to pay anything? Your friends sound like such babes with your party- you must be such a fab lady to have such lovely pals. So glad you're getting your private appointment quickly too- can't put a price on peace of mind as they say!

@ValidUser your "highly glamourous" comment made me smile- if you can do it yourself then for sure worth it! You guys sound like such an impressive couple!

@rose555 Any sign of af yet?! Those symptoms are sounding promising!!

@Tashdreams no I've not done much more googling on the supplements but might contact Adia as @MrsEG did. Part of me thinks what harm could it do to take them but then of course if don't want to risk anything.

@Kiza Thank you! Haha god no I don't remember them all!! I've realised that if you type in the box on the app and then cross out of it on the top right you don't lose what you write- means you can go back and check what you're meant to be replying to. I'm useless with remembering it all too- I used to write it in a little notebook to try to remember 😂

@Larrydavid I know exactly what you mean about trying not to be stressed by it but no matter how hard I tried TTC always stressed me out so in the end I decided doing ALL THE THINGS 😂 would help me feel more in control. I would really recommend ovusense if you ever want to try temping- takes the stress out of having to wake up at the same time and rememebr to take your temp orally as you pop it in your vag at night and then can forget about it!

Lola871 · 31/05/2019 07:15

@MrsEG that's good that you got a quick appointment. I actually work in private healthcare and people are always surprised at how quick they can get seen!

@ValidUser oooh that sounds super sexy 🤣 although if you're OH knows what he's doing then why not I guess!

Still no sign of AF for me, now on CD37 - actually considering OPKs for the first time, as when I first started TTC my cycle seemed to be fairly regular at 34-35 days now it's fluctuating a bit!
Can anyone tell me how to use them? Thanks!

orangeloo · 31/05/2019 07:16

@MrsEG I'm so glad u got some answers from somewhere. That adia sounds so useful.

Sorry to start the morning on a shitter but I got a BFN - of course - hate doing it but I tested as I wanted to know if I can have a drink or not this weekend and also if I'm not pregnant I really wanna step my workouts up. I'm determined that if I can't get pregnant I'm gonna get in shape and healthy as poss which will help in my ttc journey anyway. Sooo crap. FX for cycle 6 for me then. I hope anyone due to test soon has more luck than me. Would welcome any 'I will have a baby' mantras haha. I will also be carrying my fertility crystals around and meditating like a new age hippy. My DP is seriously going to think I've lost the plot. Grin have a good Friday all.

MrsEG · 31/05/2019 07:52

@Bettythecat Thank you, that’s so helpful! I really do love hearing success stories - makes it all feel a bit less hopeless! Adia was totally free and I was signed up in 2 mins, definitely send them your supps question!! How are you feeling today, has it sunk in yet?

@Lola871 The only OPKs I’ve ever been able to get on board with are the Clear Blue digital ones - pee on them first thing and you get a flashing smiley face in the days leading up to Ov, and a static smiley for Ov. I’m so rubbish at deciphering lines so having it as clear as day like this was the best for me! They are often on offer on a amazon too.

@orangeloo I’m so sorry - getting AF never gets any easier. Sounds like you are heading in to your next cycle in a great frame of mind though!! Chant away!

flossy12 · 31/05/2019 08:07

Cycle day 31 and still awaiting AF, however BFN for me today

Bettythecat · 31/05/2019 08:33

@MrsEG it hasn't yet sunk in properly I don't think. As we know a BFP is only the start of the journey so whilst I am cautiously optimistic the road to my baby actually being here seems like a very long one. Wish I could just fast forward to the 20 week scan and avoid the anxiety of the first few weeks! Symptoms wise, I'm hot, felt very bloated yesterday and think I feel the beginnings of nausea...secretly wishing I get morning sickness as I didn't last time. Thanks for the info about Adia- I'm going to sign up on the way into work.

Also please do tell me to eff off if my lurking is annoying anyone! I won't be offended honest!

Kiza · 31/05/2019 08:33

@Bettythecat wow have just tested this out and that's amazing! Still learning how to use this forum!
@Larrydavid @ELW85 did you see Betty's response on how you can type a response to someone, then go to the cross symbol top right and it takes you back to the thread so you can then see who you want to reply to then go back to tor response and it doesn't delete what you've written!
Boy this is going to save me some time, I'd even though of jotting down on a piece of paper people's names and what I'm responding to 🤦🏼‍♀️

Bettythecat · 31/05/2019 08:39

@Kiza haha that's exactly what I was doing. My dad and brother once caught me doing it on a long road trip- there I was scribbling down all these random user names and comments- I pretended I was on a cat forum and they believed that 😂 says a lot about me.

Also ladies if anyone would like a full pack (maybe one missing) of pregnacare conception and a load of OneStep OPKs please let me know and I will post them to you (free of course). I'm going to think positive and think I won't be needing them.

Kiza · 31/05/2019 08:46

@Bettythecat haha the things we do!!

Lozzlepop · 31/05/2019 08:54

Morning ladies, wow I have missed a lot last night!

@Bettythecat haha it was a decaf as I have switched from regular coffee as it gives me bad anxiety and lord knows I don't need that! 😂Please stay with us as long as you like!

@Larrydavid oh enjoy New York hun, I was there at Xmas - literally my favourite place in the world!! Fingers crossed AF stays away!

@MrsEG so happy to hear you have managed to get a private appointment that sounds really positive! Also such a lovely idea to celebrate your birthday by doing the fundraiser! Hope you have a lovely weekend with your girls! Also I would totally recommend the new Galaxy Darkmilk 😋

@Kiza I am constantly scrolling backwards and forwards 😂

@Fivebyfive2 hope everything goes well with your booking in appointment stay positive!

@LokiCat awww bless him he sounds like a good un!

@MrsEG glad to hear you got some further info on Aspirin, thanks for sharing!

@Bettythecat looks like an interesting article to read with my morning brew! I never knew you could do this hence why I hardly reply in the evenings as I can never remember what everyones posted!!

What's everyone up to this weekend?

rose555 · 31/05/2019 08:56

Morning everyone. I think I might have a little bit of good news to share after yesterday’s weird feelings. After work I saw some friends in the pub (one told me she was pregnant) and I was SO genuinely happy for her. But by the time I got home I felt completely and utterly exhausted, like I couldn’t keep my eyes open, and I was grouchy to the point that DH called me out on it, and I confessed that I’d had these weird uterus feelings all day and didn’t know whether to be excited or whether the worst AF of all time was about to arrive. I was visibly swollen down there and went to bed feeling really quite flat and sad. By the end of the night I’d convinced myself AF was coming. Anyway, I tested this morning with FMU after another little rise in my temp on Ava. And I saw this....

@rose555 yaaay congratulations!! Do you know what DPO you are? X

Lozzlepop · 31/05/2019 09:06

@rose555 amazing news!!! Huge congratulations to you, what a lovely way to start the weekend!!!

Bettythecat · 31/05/2019 09:10

@rose555 wohooooo I knew it!! Congratulations! What cycle is this for you? How exciting! Xxx

rose555 · 31/05/2019 09:11

@orangeloo @lozzlepop thank you both. I think I am 11dpo according to Ava. I really don’t feel like it’s real, having gone to bed so deflated!! I’m not getting excited yet and will test again tomorrow and Sunday. Haven’t told DH yet as he had already left for work so am just heading off to work myself with a big fat secret to keep. I don’t know if it’s just my mind, but I feel really quite nauseous... maybe it’s the shock!

rose555 · 31/05/2019 09:12

Oh @bettythecat I missed your message above, sorry! And thank you! This is cycle 6....

Kiza · 31/05/2019 09:33

@rose555 I understand your feelings of 'is this real? Am I in shock?' It's hard to fully accept it at first but wow congrats for you!
Such a lovely way to start the weekend ☺️

cupcakesandglitter · 31/05/2019 09:34

@Bettythecat you're not annoying us!!! Stick around XX

Congrats @rose555 xxx

PaintingOwls · 31/05/2019 09:41
