Hi everyone! I’ve started a new thread as we are dangerously close to 1000 posts in the last one! I’ll add a link to it now :) Here’s hoping it’s a lucky one!

@MrsH497 so sorry to hear of your loss too. It is totally heartbreaking and will take a while to feel normal again. Just don't put too much pressure on yourself. ❤️

@Fivebyfive2 I am ok thanks lovely. I have been taking a bit of a step back this month as I think I have just been putting too much pressure on myself to get pregnant again quickly after the mc. Also I just found out my thyroid level has shot up, so it is doubtful it would happen in any case this cycle as I have had my meds upped and it takes a while for it to start working.
How are you? How many weeks are you now? Have you told all your family? X

purplefig · 18/05/2019 17:37

@MrsH497 oh I can't even imagine, sending you both huge hugs over the ether. I know you say it's not unusual, but that doesn't make it any less horrendous a thing to go through.

@LokiCat sorry to hear that. Big hugs. Take it easy and try and do some nice things for yourself. And if you need a cry, go for it. I always feel better after a weep.

@Dollywilde I love that. TTC geekery at it's finest.

ValidUser · 18/05/2019 17:37

Sorry @LokiCat.

Day one of hormones, slightly sweaty but ok!

Wingz93 · 18/05/2019 17:47

Hope you don't mind if I join? I'm 26, TTC(trying to conceive)#1 since November of last year. Never thought it would take this long, or be this stressful for that matter. Nothing worse than when AF arrives, so disheartening!
Don't even know when my AF is due this month -first cycle I have used OPKs properly and had any clear signs of ovulation (EWCM(egg-white cervical mucus)etc.) , but I got 2, borderline 3, positive OPKs around a week and a half apart. No idea what that means but heyho. Onwards we go!

Good luck to you all! 🤞

ValidUser · 18/05/2019 17:50

Welcome, @Wingz93!

Fivebyfive2 · 18/05/2019 18:44

@flapjackered, I'm 6 weeks, just! Got my midwife apt on 3rd June. Our parents know and so does my bro and sis in law, that's it until 12 weeks though. Mum is soooo clearly trying to be a bit restrained because of last time bless her... Although we were at the villa shop today, as the boys were getting 'lucky' shirts for Wembley (🙄) and they had loads of Aston villa baby stuff. She almost died of excitement I think 😂

I'm glad to hear you're OK. It's hard when we start putting the pressure on ourselves, so take care and do whatever works for you xxx

Dollywilde · 18/05/2019 18:54

@fivebyfive2 oooh you’re a villa fan!!!

If I fall this cycle I’m due to test on bank hol Monday... DH has said it would be the best day of his life to see villa go up and get a BFP Grin no pressure!

Fivebyfive2 · 18/05/2019 19:06

@Dollywilde, ha ha that's brilliant! Fingers crossed for you guys on all counts for the bank holiday! Xx For a long time I've liked the name Jack, it was my grandads name; when my sil found out she said 'yes please take that name, your brother wants it, but only because of Jack Grealish' 😂

cupcakesandglitter · 18/05/2019 19:06

@Fivebyfive2 omg are you a west mids girl?! Please say yes!!! @Dollywilde another one with a massive villa fan DH!! X

cupcakesandglitter · 18/05/2019 19:07

@Fivebyfive2 omg that sounds like something DH would say too 😂

cupcakesandglitter · 18/05/2019 19:10

Ooh @Dollywilde I've just checked and I'll be CD27 on bank hol, so I could test too! I don't think I've ovulated this month but if I had then it was a few days ago... might join you in testing x

Fivebyfive2 · 18/05/2019 19:18

@cupcakesandglitter, I live in Tamworth, just north of Birmingham but not far at all really. My dad is from Erdington and mum from Kings heath, so I've definitely got a hint of Brummy when I talk! You're West Midlands too?! Xx

Dollywilde · 18/05/2019 19:22

@cupcakesandglitter @fivebyfive2 ooh villa fan thread! You’re doing better than me, DH mooted Tammy after the play offs and I said hard no Grin also DH is from Kings Heath!

Cupcakes let’s have a BH Monday test chat! And if not there’s always getting drunk watching the game... DH might be able to get tickets to Wembley through work but I’m not sure I could handle the pressure!

MrsEG · 18/05/2019 19:26

@MrsH497 I am so sorry lovely. It really is heartbreaking, there is nothing anyone will be able to do or say. Please look after yourself.

I have just got back from the EPU. Waiting on bloods but I basically broke down in there as I know what’s happening so they spared me the physical exam and just took bloods to confirm it, which will lead to my referral. The nurses were amazing. She did say that in 50% of cases of recurrent MC the tests don’t find any cause so will need to brace myself for that I suppose. Stopped at M&S food on the way back and bought so so so much junk so that’s my Saturday night sorted.

Thanks again for your messages ladies and the best of luck to you all x

@Dollywilde @cupcakesandglitter that’s so weird; I’ll be CD27 on the bank hol too! I’m in Newcastle though, so that’s where the similarities end, haha! Don’t think I’ll be able to resist testing next Friday though...

@LokiCat - sorry to hear you’re out this month - I hope you’re indulging in something to try and forget about it!

@MrsEG - so, so sorry again for your loss. You’re so strong, and I wish there was something I could say of comfort, but I won’t try xx

cupcakesandglitter · 19/05/2019 01:20

@Fivebyfive2 yay!!! It'll be super outing if I put where I am but you are literally not far from me at all!! In fact I was in Tamworth last week 😂😂 Brummie here though!! Without the accent

OMG @Dollywilde that's crazy! Such a small world 😂 Yes! BH testing! I'm sure I'm out this month but won't stop myself from testing either way 😂 @ELW85 don't worry, when we first started this thread we were all located over the UK, I'm sure many many threads later there's bound to be some north girls on here 😂😂😂 BH Testing club!!

@MrsEG I'm so so sorry, you deserve all the happiness in the world 😩❤️ enjoy your junk food, an M&S binge is always a good idea. Really hope you get some answers and closure soon xxxx

Girls I've had such an emotional week - my mum was in an accident and has been in hospital so I've been with her all week and have also had a super hectic work week. To top it all off tonight I saw my estranged dad (things messed up big time after my parents divorce and basically had nothing to do with him)... had a massive sob with him earlier and have finally got home to just catch up on sleep and relax. Definitely think I've had far too much of a stressful week to have got lucky this month but I'm still going to test because I'm addicted to POAS.

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend xx

Lozzlepop · 19/05/2019 08:24

@Lokicat sorry to her AF got you, she’s such a witch!

@MrsEG @MrsH497 I hope you are both doing ok, I know it’s a horrible time but be assured you will get through this ❤️ Be kind to yourselves and take all the time you need!

@cupcakesandglitter oh hun that does sound like a mega stressful week! Is your mum ok? Sending you lots of love

I have had such a lovely weekend I think it’s just what I’ve needed to reset! Went to the gym and then a swim and sauna then out for dinner and back to the hotel for some delightful cocktails then have DP a treat but slipping into something sexy 😂 was nice just being relaxed and not thinking about TTC! I’m starving so hope he wakes up soon then off to meet our friends new baby today! Hope everyone is having a lovely xx

Lauraloop1516 · 19/05/2019 09:32

Oh my goodness. 11dpo and I just couldn't resist - tested with frer. It's positive. I absolutely can't believe it. DH's away until next week and I want to tell him in person - I see him briefly today in a setting that just isn't ideal. HOW do I keep this to myself?!

ELW85 · 19/05/2019 09:38

@cupcakesandglitter Wow that sounds like a hell of a week. I hope you’re ok, and that your Mam is on the mend :) have a nice chilled day today to try and offset the madness? At least we have a bank hol to look forward to!

@Lozzlepop - your weekend sounds great! I remember cocktails, haha!

It’s just been a weekend of housework for me, and getting to see our wedding photos for the first time - need to pin DH down to picking the final 200 for the album today when he gets home from work.

Next weekend though, we’re going to the Harry Potter studios...yep I’m that much of a child 😂

ELW85 · 19/05/2019 09:40

@Lauraloop1516 - congratulations!! That’s fantastic news!!
Why don’t you figure out how you want to tell him, and distract yourself with that to keep yourself busy?

PippaPug · 19/05/2019 11:00

I got a flashing smiley face today on the clear blue advanced and the OPK test line has gone a lot darker too, feels like it’s taken forever and I really know it hasn’t!
I’m now just waiting for my Fiance to come home from his stag do, wondering how much of a hangover he will have!

@ELW85 - Harry Potter Studios is fantastic, have you been before?! I really want to go again to see the forbidden forest and the gringots bank 🙈

ELW85 · 19/05/2019 11:12

@PippaPug - yay for the smiley face! I’m sure your OH will power through 😂

Not been to the studios, but went to Universal last year in Florida, which was great. The iced/slush butter beer was unreal, haha!

PippaPug · 19/05/2019 11:25

@ELW85 I’m hoping he will 🤣 I sent him a photo (or three 🙈😂) and got I’m on the plane NOW! 🤣

Do you like the butter beer?! It’s horrid! We went last year to Florida (it started all because I wanted to try the Grey stuff from beauty and the beast 😂) but didn’t try the butter beer there as I had already tried it, although I don’t remember it being a slush!

DanceMagicDance1 · 19/05/2019 12:34

Hello again. So we DTD and now it's my first two week wait. I was just wondering (and I'm sure I'm being over paranoid!!) should you stick to a pregnancy diet during the 2 week wait?

Obviously I'm not drinking and am being reasonably healthy but should I avoid mouldy cheese and only have 2 cups of tea a day (not enough 😩) for 2 weeks a month while we're trying???

cupcakesandglitter · 19/05/2019 13:15

Thanks @Lozzlepop she's on the mend, hopefully she can come home soon! Also sounds like you had an amazing weekend!! Xx

@Lauraloop1516 congrats!!! Post a pic!! Xx

@ELW85 definitely planning on chilling at some point soon 😂 omg yeeeees enjoy it!! Massive HP fan here, but I've not been in a couple of years! Xx

@PippaPug doesn't matter how hungover he is, if you're coming up to ov he needs to step up to the game 😂 happy BD!! X

@DanceMagicDance1 I've just tried to stick to that sort of diet throughout TTC (I've even cut out alcohol!) just to try and get my body used to it, but equally I'm pretty sure in the first early weeks it wouldn't make a difference anyway... do whatever you're comfortable with x
