TTC first baby cycle one! Anyone else out there?

So.... first baby 🤞🏼🙏🏽🤞🏼🙏🏽 Meant to be ovulating tomorrow. Main challenge atm is keeping things fun with the husband and not making him feel like a baby making machine 😂 How’s it going for other hopeful first time mummy’s?

Did two more strip tests and the lines seem wider but not darker?!

But I also did a FRER which I think is looking ok?

Period due Friday / Saturday so desperately thinking sticky thoughts til then!

I think they definitely look darker!! It's a BFP!! I think it's time to celebrate! 🎉 🎊

@FlapJackered thank you! But I'm just sticking with optimistic until the weekend is over.

Month. Even though I feel I done it dead on the right times. Ever since they mentioned about me being like my mum I've worried that I'm not on the right diet and will struggle getting pregnant like she did xx

@Delilah7 try and stay positive as you don't know if you'll have trouble just because your Mum did. I know it's hard though. It took my mum 10 years to conceive so it is always in the back of my mind that I will have trouble.

I have a midwife appointment tomorrow to see if we can try and workout how far I am.. my test line on my FRER is way darker than my control line and a CB digital is showing 3+ weeks so my doctor reckons I’m around 6 weeks? Who knows though

@hamandpease that is definitely darker! That is pregnant for sure 🎉 Don't worry over the weekend, I'd be amazed if AF popped up now. How's your OH taken the news?? Have you told your parents?

@hamandpease lol just thought about our conversation before last weekend about having a glass or two of vino on a Friday, none for you this weekend 😂 Not that you'll care with such amazing news 🎉

We hope to get a private scan at 8 weeks (seems to be the norm here rather than 6???) and then will tell close family. (Will probably have to tell my boss before this for practical reasons but I'm fine with that)

Then wait til nhs 12 week scan for everyone else

@Flapjackered I never took any HPT’s until Sunday as With my messed up cycle I didn’t even think I was ovulating.. I guess I was wrong 🙈
We’ve only told my mum and we’re keeping it quiet from everyone else until after we’ve had a scan.

To the ladies who have BFPS. What cycle were you and how long did it take? Did you use OPKS or just an app? Zz

I wouldn't call mine a BFP just yet but...

I used OPK sticks

but I haven't used hormonal contraception for 18 months before we started trying, only condoms x

@hamandpease well I'm hopeful for you it is! I can normally tell ovulation by CM especially now off the pill xx

@Delilah7 We started trying in august.. don’t really know how many cycles with my irregular one...

I used Ovia and used to check my CM and cervical position but tbh with you I don’t think I was doing it right as I said before I really thought I hadn’t ovulated 😬🤦🏻‍♀️

Showed up on a 'after your missed period' test this morning and also thicker again on the cheaply strips

Still 2/3 days before my missed period though.

Spoke to the lovely midwife on the phone earlier and she booked me in at 7 weeks. She was far more confident about it than me!

Only showed up faintly on that 'standard' test though obviously!
