5 days late... BFN

Hi, me and DP are TTC. Last month I had a BFN and AF showed like clockwork CD31. This month I had spotting a week after OV that lasted around 2-3 days that was light pink then brown at the very end. I have been off the pill since Aug 16 (only TTC 2 cycles) and my AF got into a 31 day cycle by about Jan 17. I've never ever had spotting before and now I am 5 days late.. however I keep getting BFN's! I did a FRER this morning and there maybe is a real squinter, too faint for a camera to pick up. But it's really getting me down that it's still BFN/No AF. If AF is coming then that's fine I wish she would hurry up and get on with it, but I've had none of my usual symptoms. I tracked OV with OPK's so I know when I ovulated so I'm not ovulating late. I'm not overly stressed and as I've stated already my periods are normally like clockwork! Other symptoms I've had are lots of watery CM, extreme tiredness, food aversions (too early?) achey back and dull aches in pelvic region.

Did anyone get a BFP later on? Is there still hope? I've read lots online that BFP's can take around 6 weeks for some people but on here it's like if you didn't get it on the day of your missed period or before then it's gonna be a BFN Sad

Reading more online (someone stop me) and everywhere says if you're over a week late and still no AF or BFP then to call your doctor. So what do you do when you see your doctor and they give you no answers?!? In limbo and I can't take it.

@peterpanwendy. I think I might go into meltdown if I'm over a week late. I read that the lining needs to shed every 6 weeks max to keep your uterus good. I once saw a gynae doctor who said that a space of more than 12 weeks wasn't good. Conflicting info everywhere.

What I want to know is what happens when you're ttc.

It's very confusing and I'm even more concerned as I had a medically managed (with tablets) miscarriage in early September. I've had two periods since then but they were terribly heavy.

@LookingAtTheStars89 oh really? You can never get a definite answer!
Sorry to hear about your MC, so sad :( have you been to your doctors recently? From what I've read on here that seems quite common after a MC, I doubt it'll effect your fertility hugs x

@peterpanwendy. How's it going?

peterpanwendy · 16/12/2017 00:30

@LookingAtTheStars89 good! You? Been at my work Xmas party, had a couple but not many just in case! I'm gonna test again Sunday :)

@peterpanwendy. Not so good actually. I've had spotting and felt quite ill. Im testing tomorrow to see what's going on.

BusterBluth21 · 16/12/2017 13:12

I've still had no sign of AF. Felt a bit sick yesterday (which I've put down to hangover from Christmas do!) and suddenly felt really sick 20 minutes ago but ok now. WHats going on?! Spoke to my friend who's a GP who said it can be normal to miss a cycle so nothing to worry about unless it goes on for longer so putting it down as an oddity!

peterpanwendy · 16/12/2017 20:07

@LookingAtTheStars89 sorry to hear you're not doing great. Did the spotting stop? Did you test? Hugs Thanks

Hope you get answers soon. I'm doubtful you can just skip a period if you aren't pregnant tbh. I did find my cycle played dirty tricks on me when I was ttc though.

Just to update anyone who has been following the thread I got my BFP clear as day today 13 days late! CD44, 28DPO. I think I'm about 6 weeks, due mid August and completely and utterly over the moon! X
