1st Dc - was on pill and fell pregnant by accident within a few weeks of dating now DH.
2nd DC (currently 26 wks pg)- one shag.

Seem so to be no reason why some are quick and others struggle. Also felt a bit guilty as had a good friend going through 7 years of fertility treatment. Sending everyone luck who’s trying.

I was 29 (3 months shy of 30) and got pregnant on first cycle with my son.

26, TTC for 2 months

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 29/10/2017 09:05

I was 37 when I finally got pregnant after 13 years of trying. No hint of a pg before that at all. Unexplained infertility.

willisurvive3under2 · 29/10/2017 09:06

Got pregnant on 3rd cycle TTCing at 35 but sadly MC. Pregnant again two months later, DS is now 1.

Decided to TTC #2 at 36, took 1 try but MC again. Got pregnant again that same cycle and it’s twins. I’ll be 37 when they’re born.

So pregnant 4 times really easily but lost half of them (all very early I should add).

33 and I've been trying for 6 months so far. It often seems to happen straight away or take a long time so I'm expecting a long road ahead at this stage.

36 when we said let’s stop using contraception and see what happens. I wasn’t paying close attention but I suspect I had a very very early miscarriage (at the time I thought it was a late and painful period). Started to track cycle so could be a bit more deliberate about it. I know exactly when we conceived. Took a couple of goes when being more conscious about timing. I was genuinely expecting it to be tricky given age etc, so we were very light touch about it and tried to manage our expectations. A lot easier than we thought. I turned 37 while pregnant, currently 30 weeks pregnant.

Just a consideration for people worrying re risk and maternal age: I had to have the blood test as they couldn’t get the measurements at 12 week scan (very unco-operative foetus :) ) .On the sheet that came back with the results, my age related risk is 1 in 240. However when that is combined with my other risk factors, individual risk was rated at 1 in 11,200. I happen to have no other risk factors for the genetic conditions that the blood test considers. I also happen to have no factors that have made my pregnancy so far be considered high risk. My midwife explained to me that age is one factor to consider amongst others. I know I’m only anecdata, but I also think I’m not that unusual. I wouldn’t want someone reading this thread to panic about age alone. yes there’s increased risk and lower fertility post 30 but it’s only one factor in many.
