Here we are again! Some of us been here a while & finding it hard ttc our second, but we've been supporting each other and chatting since June, so let's carry on!

Can I make suggestion? To recap now, & to help us all keep up as thread gets long and new people join, how about we all put quick recap at end of each new message (or once a day if posting lots back and fwd as we do sometimes?!) (bit like email signature!) with the vital stats and anything else you want to add (like if IVF for example) so mine is:

36
DS age 3
Ttc#2 since Jan/Feb (early mc in Aug)
Af/bfp due Oct 12th

Might be a bit of a pain typing it each time but would help everyone know where we're coming from? Good luck all for another cycle, we can do it!

Thanks june, I really do hope you have a nice surprise in the morning. I know how you must be feeling, but fingers crossed for you xx

Kashy the tests I had were lh and FSH (egg reserves) which was around day 3 or 4 I think, and progesterone at around 21 days to check ovulated. I saw on the notes they'd tested hormones like testosterone and other things as standard as well. They wouldn't do AMH for me as the above were all normal and because I conceived so recently, but that's the other one i know of for egg reserves.

Cariad sorry you're feeling crappy :( . It's no wonder we're all starting to get completely fed up... I've put on a good few pounds too, just because got sick of depriving self of caffeine and wine, so I hit the chocolate instead! Then with everything else that happened, I got worse. The monthly rollercoaster and anxiety that comes with it... it's not easy to focus on diet is it xx

Good luck Mynameisjune and Elle85 please let us know how you get on!

MynameisJune · 04/10/2017 19:46

Thanks impatient it’s my birthday tomorrow so I’m really hoping that I get a nice present, but preparing myself for a rubbish one. Although at least I can drink over my birthday if it is a bfn!

Thanks bunnie good luck to you too!

lexijadye · 04/10/2017 20:09

@MynameisJune - how long after you started on the injection did af stop completely? For me it was about 6 months, and haven't seen her since march!
How long after you stopped the injection did you conceive?
Happy birthday for tomorrow! SmileCake

MynameisJune · 04/10/2017 20:14

Lexi my periods stopped almost straight away, as expected. It’s a known side effect of the depo because of how it works. It took 6 years after stopping to conceive. Sorry if that sounds scary. I don’t think it had anything to do with the injection. We haven’t used contraception since 2008 and I’ve only ever been pregnant once with DD in 2015. So pretty sure it’s us as it hasn’t been any easier this time round really!

lexijadye · 04/10/2017 20:59

@MynameisJune - I remember being told they may or may not affect my periods. To be honest they were never really regular anyway.
I've spoken to a few ladies that have been on it before they TTC, it seems to be different for everyone. Someone I know got pg after only being off it for a month.
I had my DD in 2015, my body was ready for another pretty much after I gave birth! My brain however, was not! We conceived her after coming off the pill in Jan 2014 conceived in Nov 14.
Sort of wishing I'd looked into how long it can take for things to settle after having the injection. - just seemed easier at the time as I was useless at remembering to take the pill 😂🙈

MynameisJune · 04/10/2017 21:16

Lexi the depo stops the egg from being released at all. Which in turn stops your body from preparing for the egg and sloughing off the lining afterwards. So I’d be surprised if it didn’t affect periods. I started the depo when 18 bad was on it until 24. I think it was due to the length of time I’d been on it that caused my periods to take a year to come back properly.

To be honest I have a huge problem with the way contraception is prescribed here. All the GP/nurse tells you are how affective they are against pregnancy but fail to tell you that they may or may not have long term effects on your fertility. My mum was not clued up on contraception and I wish someone had told me about what they really do to the body.

MynameisJune · 05/10/2017 05:38

So this happened at 4am this morning. In complete shock. Haven’t been able to sleep since!

This is truly amazing news Mynameis. I am absolutely delighted for you. Such wonderfully strong lines. This is one amazing Birthday present! Enjoy the celebrations! Xxxx

Cariad2017 · 05/10/2017 06:22

BFN this morning at 12dpo which (as predicted) means that I’m definitely out. I was expecting it so I’m feeling ok. Onwards and upwards to Cycle 13 (groan).

MynameisJune · 05/10/2017 06:26

cariad I’m so sorry for the bfn 😔 I’m hoping so very much that you get a bfp next cycle. Huge hugs lovely xxx

Cariad2017 · 05/10/2017 06:34

Thank you Mynameis. If it happens next month (and sticks), not that I’m holding out much hope, it will have taken the same length of time this time round as it did to conceive DS (it’s just that last time I managed to have a ruptured ectopic and a cp in that window)... We’ll see. I fear we might be in for the serious long haul this time though....

RhiBee29 · 05/10/2017 06:37

Congratulations & Happy Birthday @MynameisJune

Sorry it’s a bfn @Cariad2017

OvariesForgotHerPassword · 05/10/2017 06:39

Huge congratulations mynameis !!!

I'm an observer this month, life got a bit topsy-turvy and we haven't had chance to DTD so no BFP for me this month. Best of luck everyone!

MynameisJune · 05/10/2017 06:41

cariad it’s so hard isn’t it, the only thing I think we have done differently this month is that I’ve not been worried about it never happening. After my tests came back normal it felt like a huge weight off. Could be coincidence though. Just remember you’ve conceived before successfully with only one tube, you can and will manage it again xxx

rhibee thank you 😊

MynameisJune · 05/10/2017 06:41

Thank you ovaries 😊

Elles85 · 05/10/2017 08:25

**MynameisJune I'm so happy for you congratulations and happy birthday Smile

Hope we're joining you soon Grin

Fillybee · 05/10/2017 09:01

Great work @mynameis how many days post ovulation are you? Have you done any other tests this cycle?

Sodasoda · 05/10/2017 09:13

Congratulations mynameis! Fab news! Remind me what cycle this is?

Sorry for bfn cariad

Been getting EWCM for 4 days now but stark white ovulation sticks. CD13 here.

lexijadye · 05/10/2017 09:24

@MynameisJune - WOW! Shock massive congratulations! Can I just ask - as I'm really curious, why 4am?! 🙈 I can imagine you haven't slept since getting your bfp!
I completely agree though, they never explain the details of how some of the contraceptives they use can affect your periods or fertility. Will definitely be looking more into the affects next time I use them!

MynameisJune · 05/10/2017 09:42

filly I’m about 19dpo today, af was due anytime from Sunday to yesterday so didn’t want to test until I was properly late. This was the only test, probably won’t do another.

soda I’ve had a look on ovia and this is cycle 8 but only month 6 as I was having short cycles at the start. We’ve been ntnp since Feb 2016.

lexi DD woke me up coughing at 4am, and I was desperate for the loo but knew I needed to test. So it had to be done 😂

Impatientmummy36 · 05/10/2017 09:42

MynameisJune wow congratulations!!! I know how long you've been trying and I'm so happy for you :) happy birthday, best present ever! xxxxxxxx
