@c0c01979 did you use fmu on the second test?

Xxx

c0c01979 · 19/05/2017 16:09

Hi @poppylou27
I did in a fashion- probably about 4 hours since prev toilet visit as I constantly need to go. Last drink at 11 pm, wee at 2 am, test at 6am. Can't go any longer Hmm x

Congratulations @Siarie you must be over the moon!! X

DT2016 · 19/05/2017 16:18

Congrats siarie 🎉

poppylou27 · 19/05/2017 20:50

@c0c01979 I would wait a day or so and test again ... as you'd already been it could be it was more diluted but also each test can vary and you may have got a faulty one on the second go... don't count yourself out and test again with fmu, even if it is a 4am wake up haha!

Xxx

He's still asleep! Grin I was desperate for the loo and don't want to wake him as he's had a busy week.

I think I'm right in thinking it was the birthday shag-fest that did it (28th April) can someone confirm due date would be around 5th Feb? Reason being, as some of you know, my DM died in October '16 and 5th Feb would have been her birthday.

What do I do now? Doctor? Shit I can't think straight.

When do I tell my Dad? My Grandma (mum's mum)?!

MrsHandles · 20/05/2017 07:48

I'm 31, married and scared to tell my dad and grandma. Bonkers! Trouble is, they'll then know I do rudiesGrin
Also, I must've DTD at a similar time my DGM did to have my DM - God, why is my brain working this shit out?!

CinnamonSwirlGirl85 · 20/05/2017 08:26

Mrs - congratulations! How lovely that the baby may have a similar birthday to your DM. If you google "pregnancy due date" there are a few websites that work out a rough due date based on your last period Smile. Good luck with the pregnancy!

poppylou27 · 20/05/2017 08:34

Congratulations @MrsHandles

If you dtd around the 28th April then it'll be around the middle of January your due date .. you'd be classed as 5 weeks pregnant if you have abnormal 28 day cycle as you count from the day of your last period, not from conception.. hope that helps!

Xxx

poppylou27 · 20/05/2017 08:34

A normal*

MrsHandles · 20/05/2017 08:35

Thank you, that's useful to know

MrsHandles · 20/05/2017 08:36

Do I ring doctor and say I've had a BFP? So many questions!

MotherofBoy · 20/05/2017 08:50

Yes, call the doctor say you just found out you're pregnant and need to make a midwife appointment 😁 So lovely if due date near dm birthday! Yes if you go on google you can work out due date either by last period or by ovulation. When you make midwife appt they will ask when your last period was as that's how they calculate due date until you have 12w scan to date the pregnancy. So exciting!

poppylou27 · 20/05/2017 08:52

When I was pregnant, I was told to just ring straight to the early pregnancy unit at the hospital to book in for a booking appointment which usually take place when you're about 8-9weeks pg.. if you want to make an appointment at docs beforehand so they can do bloods to confirm pregnancy you can but mine just told me to just ring straight through to the midwifves - all they'll say for now is make sure you're taking pregnancy vits and folic acid xxxx

MrsHandles · 20/05/2017 09:03

I think I'll ring doc as I know the nurse quite well and she mentioned something about doing all my pre-natal(?) stuff if I am pregnant. So many emotions right now! Thank you everyone for your advice

MotherofBoy · 20/05/2017 09:14

Yeah I had all my antenatal care with midwives at the GP surgery. Only had to go to hospital for scans. Think it depends on the area as to where the midwives are based. Hope dh is awake now haha!

MrsHandles · 20/05/2017 09:21

He's STILL asleep! He's starting to irk me now and I think he's doing it deliberately

MrsHandles · 20/05/2017 09:47

He's awake! I threw the test at him (gently) then had a little cry. I think he's a bit stunned to be honest. I've also warned him on pain of losing a bollock that he tells no one! Although he's rubbish at keeping secrets Grin

c0c01979 · 20/05/2017 10:05

Huge congratulations @MrsHandles. Over the moon for you!! X

BlueeSpottyTiger · 20/05/2017 10:06

Awwww yay fabulous news mrshandles so pleased. I know what you mean about telling family its like telling them you have sex.. i was soooo embarrassed telling with dd. My step mum was like "oh i didnt kmow you was trying" i was thinking yeah because that's like saying oh guess what we're having sex 😂

MrsHandles · 20/05/2017 10:26

Haha! Blue that's exactly it! I don't think my DGM will be impressed initially, she's always saying it's better not to have children as you can do what you want then. She's a mother of five and been married three times!

PhoenixMama · 20/05/2017 11:14

Congrats Siarie & Mother! Nice to know we're still getting some bfps!
