AF arrived this morning, I was so positive about this cycle but obviously not meant to be. Good luck to everyone still in and hopefully won't see too many of you on the June bus!

pickle162 · 16/05/2017 09:40

So sorry to hear this @Emz01 @KubaLeebre
Were you doing iui/ivf or au naturale?

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 16/05/2017 09:56

Sorry to all with visits from shitty AF and also bfns.

I did another test this morning and am definitely pg but nervous as my last one ended at about 5-6 weeks. So tentative fingers crossed.

Thanks for all messages of support and help - I have been frantic since my mc in Feb and being able to vent here and obsess about everything has been so cathartic.

Fingers crossed for you all Flowers

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 16/05/2017 10:35

We're all here to listen Cashmere Smile My aim right now is to take it one step at a time (because somehow that will help Hmm). Sorry to hear about your earlier MC. Hoping for a healthy pregnancy for you!

...........

In other news, my plan for today is signing up with a new GP practice (should have done this a while ago). Does anyone know roughly how long it will be until they can confirm everything with a blood test. I have NO idea what I'm doing or supposed to be doing. Send help Confused

ladydolly · 16/05/2017 10:48

unicorn When I had dc1 they didn't do any further tests, blood or urine. I was clueless and made a docs appt and he made me feel quite silly by saying, if you've a positive test then you're pregnant. Book in with the midwife.

MotherofBoy · 16/05/2017 10:54

Yes unicorn gp don't do anything. You should make appt with midwife for when you are approx 8 weeks. They will take blood then but not to confirm pregnancy, they do other tests can't remember what, iron levels and things like that. If you look on nhs choices there is a schedule of antenatal appointments that will give you a guide of what to expect :)

Thank you for the link and info Mother! I'll have a nosey through it.

That's a shame ladydolly, you would've thought they could have told you that beforehand!

It's a bit weird that they... I don't know how to word it... leave you on your own for a while. I'm not sure why but it's a bit disappointing, but I can understand why I guess.

MotherofBoy · 16/05/2017 12:14

I guess it's cos otherwise they'd have hundreds of appts to tell people they're pregnant when a hpt can do the same thing! Know what you mean though it is unnerving to have to wait to 8 weeks as you still have the 'but am I really pregnant' thoughts

UnglamorousMum · 16/05/2017 12:20

Can I ask how reliable opks are to detect pregnancy? I'm 12 dpo, af should have arrived today and hasn't. Don't know why I did it (I'm stupid and obviously enjoy torturing myself) and did an opk at break. 2 lines. I'm not reading anything into it, but thoughts?

May the bfps commence! May train part 2
hopingforabfp · 16/05/2017 12:30

Who else is 2dpo today?

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 16/05/2017 12:32

I'm not entirely sure how accurate they are (it seems to be but who knows) but here's mine from yesterday morning. I've had positive pregnancy tests from 12DPO so if you can later, grab a test.

May the bfps commence! May train part 2
UnicornsandRainbows1 · 16/05/2017 12:34

I didn't think of it like that Mother, you make a good point. That's exactly how I'm feeling. Everything is saying yes, I'm two days late and don't have my usual AF symptoms but I need someone else to say it to my face.

MotherofBoy · 16/05/2017 12:41

Give it a couple of weeks unicorns and your boobs will hurt, you will be off your food and exhausted and your body will be telling you you definitely are Grin

MrsHandles · 16/05/2017 12:45

Hi all, seeing all the BFPs is great! Unicorns you'll have to keep us updated with what goes on re: docs/midwives etc and their schedules as I've no idea either.

I still haven't tested yet as I'm waiting until the weekend; I'm so scared to do it, but the test is there, just staring at me. Waiting. Watching. ARGH!

PhoenixMama · 16/05/2017 12:53

Unglamorous I'd def do a frer. Opks usually come back very dark like Unicorns but there are high false positives as well so put yourself out of your misery lol!

PhoenixMama · 16/05/2017 12:53

Hoping Me! Me! Me!

pickle162 · 16/05/2017 12:58

Phoenix think we are classed as 1dpiui (1day post iui) as yesterday is classed as
Day 0 x

UnglamorousMum · 16/05/2017 13:04

@UnicornsandRainbows1 can you repost your opk picture? So I can compare!!! Why on earth I did it I don't know, to torture myself obviously.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 16/05/2017 13:35

Mother I'd say I'm excited by that prospect, but on second thoughts I can wait for that, it's fiiine!
...........
I can certainly do that Handles, though it might seem like I'm MIA for a while until something happens Grin I'm so ready for you to test!

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 16/05/2017 13:37

There you go UnglamorousMum :) Test line is on the right side Smile

May the bfps commence! May train part 2
Deepatel · 16/05/2017 14:27

@unicorns im in the same boat, even did another test this morning to check i was still positive... i rang docs this morning i have to fill out a form they will pass to midwives.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 16/05/2017 15:15

That sound much simpler Deepatel.

I've just come back from trying to register with a new GP surgery (I'm out of the catchment area for my old one) and they apparently NEED my NHS number. Everywhere else was just able to find it Hmm Anyway I have it now so it's another trek in the rain for me Grin

Timpani · 16/05/2017 19:46

Day 27 of normally 29 and brown spotting. :(

Pretty much out then. Boo. See you all in on the June train and July, Aug, Sept... forevermore

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 16/05/2017 21:48

Timpani Take it day by day, it might not mean the arrival of AF. Most importantly, look after yourself Smile
