Hi everyone, I'm new to this so bear with me but I was just wondering what advice people could give me for how to handle coming off the pill. My husband and I are trying for a baby and coming off the pill has knocked me for six. I've put on weight (even though my diet hasn't changed and I walk a lot), my spots have come back (feel like a bloomin teenager again lol) and my mood is all over the place. My husband didn't even think it was possible to laugh and cry at the same time lol x Anyhoo any advice is welcome x I'm taking folic acid, vitamin d and with the advice from my doctor keeping on with my antidepressants which I've been on for quite some time. Will this pass or balance itself out coz I'm going to go loopy if not lol x

Oh you poor thing, try some corsodyl mouth wash for your mouth ulcer, should help heal it a bit quicker. Hugs to you too xx I know you always imagine you will get pregnant the minute you are one pill late!!
They definitely are good though can get quite obsessive!! But I like to know where I stand! Lol. I get the cheap ones off ebay like £6 for 50!! So you don't mind when you do 4 in one day, just to check!! Lol.
I hope your sore tummy is in some way linked to a wee egg being released!! Fingers crossed!!
Are you starting to try straight away? This is our first week of actively trying, I came off pill a few weeks early to get the cycles started again cos I knew from last time it could take a while.
I was on combined pill last time and mini pill this time and have got first period a bit quicker but not an awful lot, less than two weeks.

HOD32x · 07/04/2017 21:08

Thanks chick, luckily I got some of that so just had some x My stomach feels weird, feels like I've pulled a muscle and I had that a while back so could be an egg releasing. Yea I'm guna get the cheaper sticks as the ones I saw in boots were 30 quid for 20 sticks!

Hi ladies, i came off the pill at the end of jan, not to ttc but just because it made me crazy, now im thinking i may always have been crazy lol. I had my four day withdrawel bleed that started on day one after my pills finished, then (as pre pill days) i had my af bang on 28 days later. Always had 28 day cycles before and as ive never had any issues with my cycles and had been on the pill for less than a year i just avoided dtd during fw or used withdrawel method (im aware some people think this isnt a forms of contraception but i did a bit of research first and tbh im just fed up of putting my body full of unatural hormones) i was going to stick to doing that for a couple of months while i considered what to do next. Just wanted to get my hormones and body back on track because if anything the pill made my cycles irregular. Well im now on cd42. No af and two bfn during the week so im assuming my ovaries decided not to play along this cycle and are just completely doing their own thing for now.
Its horrible isnt it? Feel shitty, hormonal (im crying at everything) exhausted and such bad painful bloated (gone up a whole side) and tummy cramps that i actually went to the docs friday, he yesterday for a UTI as constant peeing (went three times while waiting half hour for my appointment) to the amusement of my dp.
Guess the only thing we can do is wait it out, ive got to go for blood tests and urine tests this week at the hospital, in my unbalanced state (im that moody im even pissing myself off lol) ive managed to convince myself theres something seriously wrong, my dr was very dismissive and made it perfectly clear he things im being an irrational female lol. Fingers crossed we all get back to normal soon.

InsideOutUpsideDown · 10/04/2017 07:29

Oh lots of typos, sure youll all get the gist of it.

Littleonek · 10/04/2017 19:44

My period finally arrived today. After four months of nothing and two weeks late this month. Totally randoml and unexpected had no idea it would start today so wasnt prepared at work.

Hang in there as your body will go back to normal after a few months, and its totally normal for your period to not show up for up to 6 months. I was totally convinced there was something wrong with me but there wasnt.

Popcorn15 · 10/04/2017 20:14

I came off the pill in August & had s withdrawal bleed but no period since. I started taking agnus castus and about a month into that I had spotting for about 5 days. I thought it was going to lead into a full on period but it didn't. 😩
I've been to the doctor who has referred me for a scan to see what is going on with my ovaries.
Hopefully you all will get AF back without having to wait as long as me!

Hotpinkangel19 · 10/04/2017 20:25

@HOD32x can I ask which Antidepressants you are taking? X

Littleonek · 10/04/2017 21:11

I tried taking vitamim b12 for the last month which seems to have worked as my period is back (might not be linked though). You could try that, they are cheap in Boots.

InsideOutUpsideDown · 10/04/2017 23:02

Yeah im just hoping, like everyone else it seems, and waiting lol. I know from reading so may stories that it can take a while but i just thought it would be plain sailing. Ive come off bcp about four years ago with no affect, this time i was on it for less than six months and its gone crazy.
After a couple of days of resbite today the bloated feeling, extremely sore boobs and cramps are back. They do feel different to normal pms (never really suffered with either too much), so i thought af would have arrived but still nothing. Oh well moan over, hope we are all a little less stressed about it soon.

InsideOutUpsideDown · 10/04/2017 23:06

Ill wait til the blood tests are done, just to confirm nothing more sinister, and to give me peace of mind lol. Im sure once i chill the fxxk out my af will arrive, but its easier said than done isnt it? How much fun is it being a woman lol? If not i will look into some other ideas, vitamins etc.

HOD32x · 12/04/2017 20:17

Aw bless you insideoutandupside down hugs It really is pants isnt it? I do wonder if it may be better for you to see a female doctor though, quite unfair for your current doctor to be so dismissive of how you're feeling x

Ive been off the pill for a year now and not preventing since July last year.
Cycles are anywhere from 23 to 33 days at the moment and its frustrating now knowing when (or worryingly IF) im ovulating.
Sorry youre having a rubbish time of it. But if it helps youre not alone

HOD32x · 13/04/2017 13:34

Thanks chick x I don't like that others r going through it too but it is good to know im not alone x All this makes me think why was I worrying so much if I missed the pill before we wanted to try for a baby lol x Anyhoo lets keep our chins up, us women can do anything xxx

HOD32x · 13/04/2017 13:39

Oh and hotpinkangel im on 20mg of fluoxitine x Ive had numerous conversations with my doctor about it, apparently it is one of the safest x during pregnancy x

OP posts:
Hotpinkangel19 · 13/04/2017 13:46

I'm concerned that I'm on Venlafaxine xx may ask to change back to Fluoxetine xx thank you x

InsideOutUpsideDown · 13/04/2017 13:48

Lol i know all the advice they give is like 'miss two pills and you can get pregnant ' lol. I used to start bleeding (not an actual period i know) if i missed one pill, been off it three months and after withdrawel bleed and one normal 28 day cycle thats it lol.
I am thinking about changing my doc soon i walked out of his office crying the other day.
Cd45 now, no sign of Af and i still feel shit lol. Cant get an appointment for my bloods etc until 24th which is day before my april af is due...arrrggghh. Hows everyone else doing today.

HOD32x · 13/04/2017 23:54

All you can do hotpinkangel is discuss it with your doctor and work out what is best for you x Deffo see if u can change doctors tho insideoutandupside, you don't want to feel like that when u go, u want support and understanding x

OP posts:
InsideOutUpsideDown · 14/04/2017 07:13

Cd46 still no sign of Af, after a day (yesterday) of feeling really good, lots of energy, not emotional, dp saying how well i look, no bloated, healthy appetite ive had the worst night ever. Up five times to pee (and about a million times before bed) accompanied by really low pain across my pelvis. Really strange feeling like so much pressure, ive never had this before as a pms symptom but then ive never gone this long without a period so who knows. Im now tired, fed up and dehydrated lol, god im never going on the pill again, i just want to get this cycle done. Im really concerned there may be something more serious and my dp said if im no better by tonight when hes back from work hes taking me to casualty. Im going to try and get an earlier appointment for my bloods, ill just have to take some time off work, and im considering doing another hpt today,i dont think i am UTD, surely id feel pregnant, i did last time but it would be a simple solution to everything im feeling, what a bundle of laughs i am lol.

PenguinDi · 14/04/2017 10:01

I'm now on cd61 and really fed up, is it worth seeing a doctor or just ride it out? I'm starting to fear the eventual tidal wave.

InsideOutUpsideDown · 14/04/2017 10:29

Hi penguin, i would see the dr, im not exceptionally clued up but im sure once everything has been checked they. Can prescription something to bring your af on.ive rebooked my blood tests for tuesday, can you ask for blood tests to rule out anything to worry about, have you done a hpt?
