ladyglittersparkle I'm in in a similar position to you (well except I'm already pregnant!) :) DD is 18 months, had terrible morning sickness for months with her, but wanted to have a close age gap. I don't have to worry too much about my career though, I'm at the bottom of the ladder really so can pick up when my DC are at school! It's a tough decision to make for sure, we originally wanted a larger age gap for various "logical" reasons but then decided the age gap would mean it's not the family dynamic we wanted (I want 2 toddlers running around at Xmas, shared days out etc.) Plus I'm much better at supervising play between 2 children than being the sole playmate of one, even though DD loves it! Good luck in what you decide :)

HeyJupiter · 08/03/2017 18:40

mummy I would count from the 13th? As OPK wasn’t picking up any LH on that day (or would you expect the line to get lighter and lighter before disappearing? I’m a digital CB user so don’t know about all the technicalities!)

laura silly AF (AB!) hope you’re looking after yourself today (and the pyjamas are okay!)

Really enjoying all this talk about SAHDs - isn’t it great! Won’t be like that in our house (despite the fact I earn much more than DH) as wouldn’t be for us. I’ll go part time and try and get as much maternity leave as I can afford (around 10 months probably)

parsnips Sorry about AB, hope you’re okay and not too disappointed. Lots of things to look forward to though. Enjoy the pub quiz.

orange ditto on the pelvic twinges! I think mine are all wind though ha. 6DPO and feeling very un-pregnant (although unlikely to have even implanted yet.) Mr Orange and Mr Jupiter would get on - both Kate Bush in the shower type of chaps :)

grumpy it’s so rubbish that any of the work stuff has to be a concern but I totally empathise. I’ve put off and put off TTC for work reasons (around 2 years in fact) but have got to a point where we seriously need to just go for it before I get too old.

MrsC I’m so sorry to hear about your work issue! That’s disgraceful, no wonder you’re so upset. When is the meeting? Good on you for organising one Flowers

If money wasn’t an object I would quit nursing and re-train to be a vet :D

buzz wanting to be a mum is a fantastic ambition! It will happen, Im so glad your ambition is attainable.

lady all of those worries are so valid - sounds like its been a tough few weeks. Maybe give yourself some time to recover from all that stress and then re-evaluate. It’s hard to make big decisions when you’re exhausted and drained and sounds like your previous rationale was very sensible.

Happy International Women’s day your glorious bunch (trying not to be cynical, but totally get why people are feeling that on the board..)

MrsC2017 · 08/03/2017 18:40

buzz oooo I would be a neuroscientist if I could!

HeyJupiter · 08/03/2017 18:42

MrsC - cross post.. just saw your update. Sorry that no-one apologised. That's tough. But am really glad you confronted it. Hope you're feeling a bit better tonight xx

HeyJupiter · 08/03/2017 18:43

Hb how is the fertile week going?? So exciting!

xlaura · 08/03/2017 18:48

Totally agree with buzz on this one. I think the only thing I'll ever be good at is being a mum. I'm totally different from other 21 year olds there all still going out getting drunk and playing hide the sausage with as many randomers as possible which is probably what being young is all about but I've got morals and respect myself more to not do that (sound like a complete bore but I am fun..honest haha!) I'm not really career minded and never have been really. I always wanted to be lawyer and academically I'm able to (studies business and economics, law, psychology, maths and photography at A-Level) but it just wasn't for me. Now I work as a P.A in a nationally known company but all I ever think about is being a mum every day. I wish I was career minded like some of you lovel ladies.

Pony no I know I'm a little distraught because vanish and Ace didn't get that bastard blood out and they were new ones for xmas. Couldn't of happened to my old scabby ones that have seen better days but I'm too attached to chuck away haha! I've done 6 paracetamol so far today and one have touched the sides for these cramps!

Now gonna have a nice hot shower, get a hot water bottle and get in bed. More decorating for me on the weekend. New carpet arriving tomorrow ready to be fitted on Tuesday. Also got some new bedding which is lovely for my spare bedroom. I will share pics once it's all completed.

confusedat23 · 08/03/2017 19:07

It's so nice hearing about what everyone would be if they could =)... i would be a midwife or a paeds nurse either would suffice but i cannot afford to retrain... i've never been able to but i hope maybe in years to come i'll be able to go to uni to do it Smile

Wiggleyfingers · 08/03/2017 19:24

Hey all!
Grumpy and Parsnips I think we may be holding off until July/August too. Realistically we can't do it all and after speaking to my mum about her horrific morning sickness, I think it's best to wait until just before or just after our wedding. I'm having visions of me running to the toilet in front of all our guests and letting the cat out of the bag! 🙈 Then again...we are incredibly impatient to so who knows what will happen!

Loving the new AB! We can add that and "get humping" to our thread phrase book.

Buzz I really want to be a speech and language therapist or perhaps an educational psychologist! With my teaching background I could do it fairly easily but it still involves so much further education and I just don't have the time. It would mean putting off ttc for at least 5 years and I'm already hating that I have to wait 5 months!! It's a later life goal though.

Happy hump day everyone!

Mummyme87 · 08/03/2017 19:59

I don't know what I would be if I could be anything I wanted to be... never really thought about it.

jupiter I think OV day must have been yesterday aswell as negative OPK. I use CB OPK aswell as IC but even that gave me a negative followed by a peak on day 10. Very bizarre. Just when I thought I understood my cycle!!

DancingUnicorn · 08/03/2017 20:03

So much to catch up on! I left my phone at home today fail and am now letting my lovely oh drive me many hours back to my parents house! :) My week is over, which is nice (although it's because I have to go to a funeral, which is not so nice).

I've got no idea what my ideal 'job' is. Have two professional qualifications, and like my current job, but would it be my ideal? Honestly, I'm like you buzz and Laura and I can only ever remember wanting to be a mum. But I'm not convinced I'll be any good at it... I do think I might write a book one day though. I have some chapters of something autobiographical started... but always feels a bit self indulgent!

Mrsc I'm so sorry about work issues. I hate being blamed for someone else's mistake!

I found my company mat leave policy today snooping through the network and turns out I should have waited 6 months until a significantly better may policy would have kicked in. :s oh well. Don't think I'll be able to take as much time as I'd have liked now, but I guess we shall see.

Grumpy I'm so sorry you've been made to feel like this. I hope it's something that will pass. International women's day... sigh. I'm still terrified about telling work, I'm determined to do it on Monday!

Parsnips how do feel about waiting longer?

Sorry... long post!

Flowerpot15 · 08/03/2017 20:04

I always wanted to own a B&B in rural France before I realised I would have to work weekends.

Glitter my DS is 22 months. I have friends with DC's of similar ages who have already had #2 & other friends who want to wait until DC is at school. I am hoping DS will be potty trained & not need picking up as much before #2 arrives but I'm not sure there is a right time. Definitely pros & cons to both.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 08/03/2017 20:14

Yeah wiggley I wouldn't have wanted to be pregnant on my wedding, the whole thing is stressful enough as it is!

Flowerpot15 · 08/03/2017 20:25

Sort of on topic, has anyone been watching The Replacement?

HeyJupiter · 08/03/2017 20:25

Ohh Wiggley I was nearly sick with anxiety on the morning of my wedding day so can't imagine throwing morning sickness into the bargain... I guess what will be will be though and certainly wouldn't be the end of the world. This is very outing but my mum is a speech and language therapist and well known in her field - amazing profession but hit very hard by NHS cuts unfortunately...

There is always time for us to make changes with our careers.. maybe after the babies have left home Grin

HeyJupiter · 08/03/2017 20:26

Ohh you've reminded me about the replacement flowerpot, need to watch this weeks on catch up! Very tense last week eeeek.

HeyJupiter · 08/03/2017 21:34

mummy that is all confusing but sounds like good day to officially start 2ww... hope it goes quicker than mine is :)

HbH04 · 08/03/2017 21:37

Gaaaaah... The Replacement was nearly unwatchable in places this week, no spoilers for the people on catch up, but was so many cringe/uncomfortable moments! Still have no idea where its going tho!

Wiggley My sister is in the last few months of training to be a speech and language therapist... i didn't really know they existed before but it's relevant in so many ways, very interesting! (She'd probably know of your Mum jupiter !)

Rubbish about your PJs Laura im sure something will sort it out! Have a nice hot water bottle snuggle this eve!

I've never really thought about a dream job either... love mine but if i could ditch the late nights and saturdays it would be perfect!

Baby making is a go! DTD every day since CD 4 apart from the two days DH was away... and will probs continue this for the next week or so... Ovia has FW down for tomorrow until Tues but we know she can off sometimes and I'm not tracking Ov so not taking any chances!

Anyone else in FW?? (You've already Ov'd did I remember mummy ?)

HbH04 · 08/03/2017 21:38

Ah i just re-read your post mummy Is that early for you?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 08/03/2017 21:46

CD4 and only light brown spotting today, I'm loving new 3 day AF! Ovia has me on 33 day cycles now, so FW is ages away theoretically

My mum is coming to London tomorrow to help us out a bit at home, I'm so grateful. DH has agreed he definitely will become SAHD after parental leave, we won't cope otherwise.

Mummyme87 · 08/03/2017 21:51

HB yes early OV for me. If I'm counting it as CD13, I'm 1dpo today and AF due 19th March

HeyJupiter · 08/03/2017 22:04

Hb very impressed by baby making efforts! That's fab. Good luck! You must be so excited :)

And good luck to mummy too.. this is the month.

Have a great time with your mum grumpy

The Replacement makes me feel quite mentally ill watching it. Reckon there will be massive twist at the end..

TheGrumpySquirrel · 08/03/2017 22:11

Hb that's impressive humping! Grin

MrsC2017 · 08/03/2017 22:15

Ooo jupiter snap so is my mummy dearest!! Also well known in her field and stressed over cutbacks.....!

Cocktails30 · 09/03/2017 00:26

I would be a nail tech. I'm trained in shellac/gel nails and would love my own salon. Unfortunately mine dictates what I do and I spend my time worrying that I am not good enough, my manager wants to sack me etc. Maybe one day I can do what I love.

Currently where I work there's s nursery and you can salary sacrifice the whole amount which makes a huge difference. J read in the nighty today though there would be a salary sacrifice limit so not sure if that will apply to that.

Today I am annoyed. At the weekend I saw cheap flights did car hire to America. Today, now our hall is approved, it has shot io! By s lit! 😡

parsnips where in UAE are you?

buzzmoon · 09/03/2017 02:05

Bloody hell laura you are literally my twin!! I'm a PA in a nationally known company too!!
