Hi all!
So the old thread died and I can't remember the old spiel or anything.
Basically I started a thread almost 2 years ago as I was TTC and symptom crazy!
I found lots of likeminded lovelies and we joined together to help each other :)
We did have some rules - mainly things about being nice, no apologies and nothing is too gross to discuss, we are all adults and here to help :)

Of course I'd never put my own fear above baby's safety & im trying to be open to all - it's just the recovery from major surgery plus the extended hospital stay that concerns me re: CS

OP posts:
ItsBritneyBitch82 · 22/04/2017 14:22

I got a private room (husband was allowed for stay) and was out in two days. Actually was good as had more breastfeeding support and time with lactation consultant. Felt fine after three weeks too so really don't worry!! Wink

neetie1 · 22/04/2017 20:04

There is one called Sperm Count it's £40 and has high ratings.

PrtyPsn · 22/04/2017 20:19

flowers private rooms are chargeable here... otherwise it's luck of the draw. The thought of even staying one night is bad enough.
neetie that seems fairly reasonable, I love the Internet!

OP posts:
ItsBritneyBitch82 · 22/04/2017 22:29

Yeh I got given the private room - result! But it was because of having a CS, couldn't have coped on a ward!! Shock If you do stay just use it as an opportunity to take advantage of the support available. Honestly having the time to establish bf was invaluable as it really helped me with latch and positioning, amongst other millions of queries! The food was atrocious though! Sent the husband out for pizza on the second day! Grin

PrtyPsn · 23/04/2017 07:45

I'm not too worried about bf... it's almost sort of partly my day job Blush plus I'm friends with a few lactation consultants I can call on.
The food most definitely is crappy here too and that will be part of OH's visiting duties!!

Well then it sounds like you're all set. I hope things go the way you want.

neetie1 · 25/04/2017 17:54

Results letter here and very confused by second paragraph

Prty · 25/04/2017 18:49

Hmmmm but that's within normal levels from what you said previously - could it be a way to get more cash from you?

CinnamonSwirlGirl85 · 27/04/2017 14:30

Hi! Could I please join you? I was TTC around the time of your old threads and remember them as I also stalkerishly lurked on them like Confused, though never actually posted on them. I mostly posted on an infertility thread (although under a different username) that was going at the same time. That thread died, as 5 out of 6 of us ultimately ended up pregnant and we all ended up being friends IRL instead!

I do recognise a few names though and am so pleased that things have worked out for most of you (MrsKitten I am so sorry things haven't worked out so far. I really hope the CBT is helpful and that the ladies on the infertility board are supporting you. They were brilliant back when I was on there).

Prty - I'm so pleased you got pregnant. How are you finding pregnancy? I hope you're not too anxious (although it's pretty hard not to be when it's a hard fought for pregnancy!). That's so exciting you're having a boy! They're fab Smile.

My story is fairly similar to yours: we were trying for ages, had lost all hope of it happening naturally, were due to start IVF in Jan 2016 but when we turned up they cancelled it due to some bullshit admin reason. We were absolutely distraught and were looking into doing a private cycle abroad. We went on holiday and, you guessed it...I came back pregnant. If I have one more person tell me it was because I "relaxed" or because I "stopped thinking about it" I will probably slap them. I was in total hysterics for much of the holiday and all we did was read books about fertility and google IVF clinics. It's hardly like we came back to the UK thinking "Oh what was that thing we were obsessing about before we went on holiday? Can't quite remember because of all the relaxing we've been doing...".

Anyway, thankfully we had a healthy baby boy in October Smile. We're now TTC#2. We started quite quickly after DS was born as we know how long it can take, and that there's a high chance it won't happen at all.

I hope everyone else is doing well. Congratulations to those who are pregnant! Neetie - any update on the tests? The letter does seem a little odd. Is DH going to do that test you can order online (are the results accurate?!).

Hello to everyone else Waves x

neetie1 · 27/04/2017 18:58

The test seems to be accredited by several people which measures the sperm quality and their ability to swim. Going to order this weekend.

Prty · 27/04/2017 19:12

Hi Cinnamon so pleased you've joined us... I knew there were still lurkers out there :p
Congrats on DS :) hope your journey this time is quicker and easier but we'll be here to support you through it xx
Yeah, I mostly anxious- as you point out with a long awaited pregnancy there's so much to fret over! Just hoping he decides to turn and soon!
Totally agree with the frustration over the 'it's because you stopped trying/stressing' comments, so frustrating!!

CinnamonSwirlGirl85 · 27/04/2017 20:41

Awww I think that's totally understandable Prty. How far along are you now? About 33 weeks? That should give you some comfort: you're well into the viability stages now if he does come early (obviously I appreciate there are loads of other concerns!).

My only advice is to call the midwife if you have any tiny concerns. Also, if you think the movements may be even a little bit different, call them straight away and go straight in. It's hard with an anterior placenta though (was it you who has the anterior placenta?) I had that and it was quite nerve wracking not having the full on kicks.

As for him turning, there is still plenty of time. If it needs to be a c section, that's what it will be. It's tough, especially if you want your birth to go a certain way, but as long as you and him are ok then that's all that matters (I say that as someone who had an EMCS that went badly and which I'm still recovering from, but without it my son would have almost certainly died so I really don't give 2 tosses what my body is like now Grin). Trust that the professionals know what they're doing. You never know, you may end up being one of these people who gives birth in 10 minutes and hardly feels a thing Grin.

Neetie - good luck. Let us know how you get on! I may get DH to try the test in a few months (he had poor motility when we were TTC#1).

Prty · 28/04/2017 07:14

cinnamon yeah, viability is less of a worry now but I also know there's no 'safe point' in pregnancy.
I know a few midwives personally and they're great at answering any worries and having a quick listen to his heartbeat for me Smile
Anterior placenta, yep, but I've no experience of anything else so it's just normal to me. He's had a very defined pattern of movement from about 21 weeks so I always make sure movements are normal for him :)
I just don't want major surgery... I'll do what I have to but I'd rather avoid it, it's the recovery time & having to stay in hospital that I don't like.
neetie glad you've decided to go ahead with it, FXd for positive results!

youngmummy3105 · 28/04/2017 14:50

Hi all can I join? I'm on cycle 3 day 4 of TTC and AF finished this morning!!x

Prty · 29/04/2017 09:00

Hi! Of course youngmummy you're very welcome here Smile FXd for this cycle!!

BrumKP · 29/04/2017 09:10

Hi all, please could I join?! Congrats to all os BFP!

TTC since Aug 2016, AF has only made 1 appearance since then (Jan 2017). Had endless bloodtests which have all come back clear, course of progesterone in March which did cause a bleed and booked for scans to rule out other things too. Had a false positive result in Nov but trying to keep positive!

This week I have had a huuuge amount of CM, more than ever before (sorry tmi), nausea and whilst I was on my lunchbreak yesterday I came very close to fainting. Got v excited so tested this am but BFN. In need of cheering up and support please!!

Prty · 29/04/2017 09:44

Hi Brum :)
How frustrating for you but glad tests are coming back ok.
What CD are you on? Any chance you could have tested a little early? You sure of your O date?
(raids the clubhouse cupboard for chocolate)

BrumKP · 29/04/2017 10:30

Thanks @Prty! Not too sure about CD - last 'natural' bleed was Jan, so day 100++! If I count from prog then cd33. I have to admit , I was a little naive about tracking cycles etc - I just thought it would happen! It doesn't help that I have a group of friends who only have to smile at their DH and they are pregnant! GP did say it would be hard for me to track, but thinking about getting OPKs in May.

So could have tested early, or on time....it's all a mystery to me! Thank you for having me, I will try not to be too obsessive Grin

Prty · 29/04/2017 10:54

Don't worry, I thought the same when I started TTC - who thought tracking cycles and FW were necessary? You just jump into bed, don't ya? (Cynical laughter)
I also know people who get pregnant just by thinking about it... they're always chipping in just how easy it was for them!

CinnamonSwirlGirl85 · 30/04/2017 13:26

Aww I do understand your worries about a c-section Prty. Hopefully you won't need one. (I know...that's a really helpful comment from me!)

Hello fellow newbies. I'm so sorry about the false positive Brum. That really sucks. Do they have any idea what's happening with your periods? Was it Aug 2016 you came off contraception? I really hope things regulate soon and you get some sort of 'normal' or regular cycle.

Oh I know - I feel like most of my friends got pregnant just by thinking about it. I had some friends round the other day and they were asking when we were having number 2. I said we'd love to one day, but obviously it may take a long time and may never even happen (we're not telling anyone we're actively TTC). They just looked at me totally confused, because all 3 of them fell pregnant their first month of trying (and one wasn't even trying: she stopped taking the pill, had one shag a few days later and...hello baby!).

CD9 here. About to enter shagathon territory...I think we're both already exhausted by the old TTC routine (AF, piss sticks, shagging, symptom spotting, waiting, waiting, waiting....and AF and tears) and we're only 2 cycles in!

BrumKP · 30/04/2017 14:09

Thank you CinnamonSwirlGirl85. They have absolutely no idea! My gp is really great, but she is baffled! They have ruled out a lit if the usual things, but still scanning for PCOS etc. Yes, came off microgynon in August. All my teen years I would have loved to never seen AF, now I really miss it! I'm going to leave it for another week and test again, I still maintain that I don't feel 'right'. Fxd for everyone - we've got this!!

Prty · 30/04/2017 15:53

brum it took me almost an entire year for my cycle to come back after stopping Microgynon (with a sprinkling of Cerazette along the way too!!) so frustrating!
cinnamon it can get so draining being constantly so aware of your cycle, what you need to do and when... the joys of TTC!

CinnamonSwirlGirl85 · 14/05/2017 22:46

Hi! How is everyone doing?

Brum - how did the testing go last week? Any sign of AF?

Hope everyone is well x

hippybird · 21/07/2017 11:43

Hello! It's me - I was on your old boards prty!

Just wanted to stop in and say congratulations! I'm so happy you got there prty!

I'm still not preg. But have stopped trying. Long story, and won't go into my whole back story. I stopped into this thread because I am late, but getting negative tests, and so am googling of course. But also, as we're not trying, have no idea when I ovulated, or if I even did. Cycle normally 25 days, longest ever 31 days. Currently on day 35 and no period and negative tests. So frustrating! Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any experience of this sort of thing, and what happened...

xxx
