Thread 25. TTC #1 - February Fertility Fighters on the FRONTLINE

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

If you love the name skip you should use it! You can always say that you've always loved the name and looked for ways to use it until you had a baby to use it for!

God the 2ww is dragging. I know I should be enjoying the fact that I am largely spotting free but I can't because I so want that bfp! The madness!

I'm using a hot water bottle today to keep my uterus warm in case there is an egg in there trying to get snuggly. I have been wearing slippers at works and socks to bed to keep my feet warm too.

Loving the name chat. I've got a long list of names on my phone! My fave is forever changing. Problem is with friends around falling pregnant by just looking at their OH, I reckon all the good ones will be gone by the time we manage to make a human!

jam totally with you about not testing. I love that feeling of thinking yep I could be pregnant. Don't want a stick to take away that hope!

Thanks for the lists of food back on the old tread. Investigated kiwi, apparently it increases EWCM and is rich in folic acid.

I'm trying not to think about TTC too much, have enough to worry about at the mo. I've put the sticks away so just DTD every other day until AF and trying to eat well (food already mentioned), yoga and run. This means I don't know exactly when AF is due so basing myself on longest cycle length.

Good luck to those is in the tortuous TTW

skipper I wouldn't think twice on it, I think when your lovely baby comes everyone will just be too in love to think, hang on wasn't that an online name? It's probably a nice way to plant the seed of it, really!

flash have you had no more blood since?

I got nothing, except sore boobs. No cramps, but looking back I don't always get them until I start bleeding. Every time to the toilet I am bracing for blood. It's so bloody nervewracking!

When is your AF due again jam? I'm so rooting for you!!

Wish me and DH could dtd every other day mac so I could ditch the opks, but I know we just won't (we're typically a once a week couple and only if on weekend!) and my ov date shifts sometimes. So I'm impressed you can do it!

Oh no hep - how close together are the rooms? Same thing happened when DH's dog came to stay once - luckily his bedroom was downstairs and he doesn't sleep with his hearing aid 😂

Jam this afternoon when I pee its pinky, and red if I poke around near my cervix. Boobs still sore but as I understand it 1st day of AF counts as first day of flow before midday, so expecting things to kick off with a vengeance this afternoon, but will count first day proper as tomorrow. I've got my fingers crossed for you, even though I totally get you wanting to stay neutral.

I would have been the luckiest person ever to get BFP 1st cycle after getting BFP last 1st cycle (although that turned out pretty unlucky) if you see what I mean.

Great name ideas people. I'm definitely giving my dcs Irish names. As they will probs have DH's surname (I didn't change mine but don't mind having different name from kids - was fine for my mum) I want their first names to reflect my heritage. There are loads of great ones to choose from although a lot already used by family!

I could be totally making it up Hep. Maybe I just think of it like that because I always seem to get AF in the middle of the night/on waking up?

Sk1p thanks for sharing! There's some really nice ones on your list. I love Evie, Poppy, Willem, Luna, Reece etc. more so than your original choices (which are still nice and unique btw!). At the end of the day you have to go with a name YOU love! You can't please everyone and I don't think your family would remember your gaming name or be bothered by it.

My mum hates the name Mason and has even said "there will be no grandchild of mine called Mason". I feel like using it even more now to spite her hah! I like how it flows with our surname and my late Grandma was called Mary, known as May.

Hep I was ovulating at Xmas at my parent's house. Best advice I can give is dtd late at night when they're asleep and they'll hear nothing! It will literally just be "make a baby sex".

AF has arrived with a vengeance. Is it completely psychotic that it's taken me from 7am until about now to accept that it's AF and not some miraculous implantation bleeding. Need to get a grip. Cycle 7 for me.

harriet I'll be sticking with the Irish names too. I'm a fluent speaker, as are a lot of my family, so we're used to Irish names. DP isn't so we're finding it hard to agree on something he can get his head round, everything I suggest he claims I've made up lol

The FC I use say that it only counts as Day 1 if it arrives before midday, otherwise you should use the next day as Day 1. Although practically, I tend to ignore that because I just log it in Clue (which is the app I use) whenever it turns up and then have to try and remember what time it started...

Gaelach, so sorry for AF. Last month I was definitely googling 'heavy implantation bleeding' to see if I was pregnant by some miracle. Clearly I wasn't though.

Alexia, we have very similar taste in boys names! I also like Henry too.

DH and my family all have relatively boring / traditional names so I think we'll probably end up with something quite bland. I love Molly for a girl though and it was my grandmother's name so I may try and sneak it in there.

Alexia - OH and I have argued no end about a boys name. I liked Marcus for a while but then I went off it because I knew it would just get shortened to Marc which sounds normal and boring. I love Reece but OH hates it. I really have a thing for names that begin with "R". Also I like Mia and also Maya but again I just love Romana too much.

Who all uses the clear blue digital ovulation test, is it worth investing? I'm filling up my amazon basket with bits and pieces here, should I bother with the cb or stick to Internet cheapies?

Gaelach i have used both, and i have come to the conclusion i prefer the IC

the only advantage to the clearblue is that you can use them first thing in the morning.

i'm not impressed with the more expensive ones that flash either. they can give you flashy smile for upto 4 days before lh surge. So can tell you when fw is with the same accuracy your boobs can.

Save your money Gaelach, I don't get why they are so damn expensive for what they are.

I'm one of those crazies that use both gaelach - don't ask me why, I clearly just enjoy literally pissing on money.

I do like the digitals because you can use FMU and there's something satisfying about seeing the face (I know, I have problems), but given my surge seems to always happen in the early evening, it's usually the IC that picks it up in the evening after getting a flashing smiley that morning, which is then confirmed by the static face on the clearblue.

I tell myself it's fine as I'm not an early pg tester!!

I think the ICs would be just fine on their own.

Am on my way home as have calls from 4pm through to 8pm and do not want to get home only at 9pm!!!

I have no idea what my cycles are like, was less than 14 days when I had implanon a few years ago 😧 haven't a clue what they were before BC.
