Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

You can borrow my DH as well flash - I'd quite like to starfish across the bed tonight!

Flashinthepan · 31/01/2017 23:32

Haha. 2 people's husband's in my bed? I think it might be more socially acceptable to go with Alexia's idea! Thanks for the offer though, I'm sure your dhs are lovely!

SmittenPears · 01/02/2017 00:39

EJ yes, I totally get what you mean, especially since I'm really trying not to take the "oh honey, I'm ovulating" "fertilize me, daddy!" route during O week. :-s But it's hard to be subtle....
What I like about it is that it feels like the time in my cycle when I can actually DO something to make this happen.

Londonjam · 01/02/2017 04:39

Wide awake cannot sleep , just dreading getting my period and there's nothing I cab do about it 😔 hate the lack of control

kwick · 01/02/2017 06:04

Blimey tosses and turned through the night trying to remember 3rd name - finally it came to me at 5am!
I do not need to get for another hoyr but sudden nausea has struck so sat in bed, waiting for a ginger tea to be cool enough to drink.

jam hang in there honey - you will get your BFP, I am sure of it.

pyjamas I thought Raspberry Leaf tra brought on AF?

flash maybe try some Yoga Nidra or Fertility boosting hypnosis tracks?

kwick · 01/02/2017 06:05

Oops! tossed and hour and tea...

MissyJones80s · 01/02/2017 06:06

flash I'm totally the same when DH is away I either have trouble leave tv on or radio but more recently I have taken to audio books that seems to work too! Hope you got to sleep in the end boo hiss

jam sorry to hear you've had a rubbish night of it hope you managed to get to sleep again. It's dreadful this fertility thing being out of your hands isn't it, so frustrating and leaves you wondering wt actual f!!!

Eva30 · 01/02/2017 06:17

Gp won't start tests til March so I'm just waiting til then really..

Flashinthepan · 01/02/2017 06:59

Morning all. Did get some sleep but woke up a lot so can't take temp to see if its gone back up or not. Did a frer, nothing. It's so annoying, I can sort of see it pass over the lines but then only the control one is pink. Feeling some more general acheyness in the lower abdo/fanjo area though so think I can feel the witch on her way as I lie here.

Jam sorry for you if af comes. Do you feel she's on her bastard way?

Missy great minds, audio books are a must have!

HepKestrel · 01/02/2017 07:13

Does anyone else get do fed up of DTD by the time ovulation day comes? No DTD last night, so that's me for the month.

Hopefully next month high fertility will align with a weekend when we have slightly more energy.

At least now oh will stop grumbling that I am drinking all the milk :)

Pugmummy87 · 01/02/2017 07:21

Oh I don't know what is going on with my body. Temperature has dipped slightly today so maybe i haven't ovulated after all. I don't seem to get much cm anyway so it's hard to say but the last few days it's felt more watery, yesterday there was a tiny bit of ewcm.
We tried dtd last night but DH wasn't feeling it and couldn't finish which made me frustrated. DH says I'm too tense and I kid you not said 'you need to relax about it'. He's lucky he didn't get a punch in the face tbh.

We were bloody relaxed about it for 4 bloody years before we decided to actively try and it still took nearly 16 months to actually get a bfp and even then I couldn't hold on to it. Hate my stupid body.
Why do they just not get it?!

sk1pper · 01/02/2017 07:38

Pyjamas - I would only drink raspberry leaf tea between end of period and ovulation. It does induce your period early (I have proven this theory!) and it's used to thicken the lining as you say anyway, so needs to be done pre ovulation.

Hep - I do but I think my hormones change rapidly just before or after ovulation because I go from super horny to "get away from me!" I forced myself to DTD last night even though I'm technically 2dpo because I've been reading all these stories of people getting pregnant at unusual times (i.e. Not around their positive opk).

Pug - remember not to look at individual temps, it's the overall pattern that counts.

Sorry to those of you who had restless nights and I will definitely sort out list out tonight. It needs updating before I can post it so need to go back through the old thread.

Also my names are Romana and Amos. /hides

geeup · 01/02/2017 07:51

Loving the baby names chat. We have some ideas but nothing definite.
London - interesting they said my DHs morphology was 8% by their standards (was 1% last test!!!) but think that's just the change in clinics - they have different criteria. Unfortunately they did a test where they wash the sperm as a bit of a dry run before the IVF and then leave for 24 hours and most of DHs didn't make it so that explains a lot about why we're not getting pregnant I guess - the sperm don't live long enough to fertilise the egg when it pops out. So long story short, we're doing ICSI. Am currently 2dpo so last chance is now but we know it won't happen. That's ok - at least we know what we're doing. I'll use contraception next cycle then start downregging early March for egg collection and transfer early April. Thanks for asking! Good luck with this cycle. Will be watching from the wings!

kwick · 01/02/2017 08:01

hep you did the milk thing!!! I am so proud!!! Here is some Cake

geeup ICSI will really up your chances - best of luck!!

Really could do with a duvet day but have a shed load of work to do including an interview at 7pm! May try and leave on time and do that from home.

HepKestrel · 01/02/2017 08:04

skipper yes horny is my main ovulation symptom! Grin

Kathrino · 01/02/2017 08:09

Morning all. Exhausted today too, took ages to get to sleep and then DH had to get up early to get a train. I know the feeling re duvet day kwick. Working from home tomorrow thankfully so hoping to catch up then.

Hope AF stays away Flash.

Hep, it's always so much easier when ovulation happens over the weekend isn't it? Good luck for the TWW!

Ugh pug, if my DH said something like that it would drive me mad too particularly when you've been through the mill like you have Flowers

Sk1pper, I think those are great names. I love Romana in particular - it's stunning.

Geeup, I hope the next few months go well for you and keeping everything crossed for your BFP in a couple of months!

Pyjamas81 · 01/02/2017 08:11

Yep - that's what I've read skipper. Will have some on standby if this cycle is a no go. Love your names!

Sorry to hear about sleepless nights - they suck major balls. Really hope AF stays away for everyone.

6dpo here - nothing other than a few minor stabby pains. Totally normal though as I've seen from past cycles!

Londonjam · 01/02/2017 08:25

Pug don't hate your body lovely ☹️ it's amazing and will get you there. Sorry DH was not in the mood - it's so frustrating when they are not onboard in any sense. It's tough on them to perform on demand I think also.

Long term TTC doesn't half test your relationship. We've been together almost 11 years and the last year has easily been the hardest

Hep yes - so fed up of DTD by the end of FW! Fx for you

Flash Really hope AF stays away from you. haven't got any clear signs either way here, I slept badly was too hot and my pulse was racing - this usually happens before AF though. No cramps and boobs still sore. Time will tell.

Skipper those names are lovely! I love an unusual name

Geeup you sound so strong and ready for it, I'll be keeping everything crossed for you. I will ask the specialist about additional sperm tests when we go for our appointment.

harrietm87 · 01/02/2017 08:44

pyjamas also 6dpo and also have the stabby pains (left side only weirdly) - obviously I was excited as a potential symptom! Otherwise totally normal, including boobs!

geeup knowledge is power. Great that you have a plan now! All the best for next couple of months.

We still haven't found out about the house we want...sellers can't decide apparently! Frustrating but still better than a no.

skipper I love Amos- what a brilliant name! Never met one in real life. Romana reminds me a bit of pizza (soz!) I really like Ramona though.

SnarkyGorgon · 01/02/2017 09:00

Oooh, love a good name chat, there are some corkers on here. My DP and I have been coming up with names for years, mostly stupid, jokey ones, real ones make us a bit sad. The main issue for us is his ridiculous double barrelled surname, vs my ace but unusual surname- what do you call the little bugger? Added complication - one of his parents died when he was a kid and so the 'choose one of his and double barrel it with yours' is a bit more challenging- which parent do you honour, the one who died or the one who brought him up?!

Hey long timers waves so sorry we're still all here.

pug that's so frustrating, it's crushing when you know you've got a few days to get it right and then have to spend the rest of the month waiting and questioning everything. I don't think the guys get that, they don't have the cycle of hormones flowing through them, it's not quite so immediate for them

Poppet8583 · 01/02/2017 09:26

Hello! Stats below...

I'm Poppet
Age 31
TTC #1
Cycle 3
CD 23

I'm using Ovia to track my cycle (it turns out I have a 31 day cycle, not 28 like I thought!) so it's been really useful for that and knowing my approximate fertile window, but I haven't been logging other symptoms. Instead we decided to take a more natural approach this month and see what happens.

My cycle has always been regular so I'm hoping that's going to be helpful but I have no idea at the moment! Trying to stay relaxed about it all Smile

AF is due 10th Feb so will see what happens...

I don't post much on here but I've found this group really helpful so far and you all seem like a lovely bunch Smile

sk1pper · 01/02/2017 10:13

Harriet - no it's fine! I love pizza, it's my favourite food so you've just made me love it even more Grin

Pyjamas81 · 01/02/2017 10:18

Ah so it seems the shabby pains are normal for this part of cycle Harriet - back to dismissing them!

Also totally get fed up of FW hep and jam - we haven't dtd since Thursday morning, and that is just fine by us. Just can't face it.

Pyjamas81 · 01/02/2017 10:18

Shabby?! Stabby!

sk1pper · 01/02/2017 10:23

I do actually have a slight problem with the name "Romana".

I have used that name in the past as an alias when I've been playing online games with OH and his family (brother, brother's wife, dad & mum). The kind of games I'm talking about are MMOs, so games like World of Warcraft (if any of you are familiar). We haven't played with them for years now but I'm conscious they may think I've named my child after my online character. That's not really the case...I really love the name which is why I've always used it online. It's also a real name in Slovenia, France, Italy, Czech Repiblic and some other countries and I often get people whispering me in foreign languages assuming I was from there.

Anyway, I've started used other names now just to make it less awkward but I'm worried they may still remember. Am I over thinking this completely?
