Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Thanks everyone. I'm not in the best frame of mind at the moment so I'm sorry if I go a little quiet for a while. I need to take a step back.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for all those waiting to test.

AlexiaB · 10/02/2017 12:55

Skipper and Bluebell I'm so sorry this witch showed up Sad Please be kind to yourselves today and know that it will get better xx

I love a toasted hot cross bun Jam Grin

Carley it's good you're reading up on it. Main tips would be RELAX, set a daily alarm, use FF.

Mouse hope you enjoyed your evening out and the ice cream. Thinking of you Flowers

Lovely to hear from you Inspector. Hitting 12 months is rubbish Flowers I hope your time is just around the corner. It has been rough on the thread lately, especially after the influx of BFPs around Nov/Dec. You're right though, 2017 is still young and everything could look very different in a few months!

Weekend sounds lovely Hep.

Kwick thinking of you today. Hope all is going as well as can be expected xx

No idea what we're doing for Valentine's day, it's too close to my birthday really. We'll probably celebrate it next weekend.

My birthday was ok. I'd already grieved this cycle so I was prepared and I didn't cry once result! I was really crampy for most of the day though so we just made it out for a quick Nandos in the evening. Heading home on Sunday for a few days. In need of lots of mummy love, food and cuddles!

Londonjam · 10/02/2017 13:49

Take all the time you need bluebell, hope you're okay

pyjamas I am taking same approach this cycle! No OPKs and just good old DTD every other day. DH is v happy with this. We started yesterday. I am probably going to lose my shit next week when I know egg is due so I might need to come here and ask you to talk me down from the edge!

Thinking of you kwick Flowers

WELL DONE getting through your birthday alexia without tears, that really takes strength. I cried for about three days when my period came!

hep I want to learn to crochet, how are you doing it?

InspectorPenguin · 10/02/2017 13:50

Sorry Bluebell, the day of AF is usually the worst. Hope you start to feel better soon Flowers

Hep your weekend sounds lovely. I miss living somewhere with a fire - they are so comforting. I need to think of something to fill my weekend with too as DP will be sleeping at the hospital and I still don't have any proper friends down here Blush.
I missed your foot injury but glad it's getting better and that GrumpyCat is well :)

Pyjamas I think ditching the temping and OPKs is a good idea. I have never temped as I'm not a great sleeper and I didn't want to start every single day thinking about TTC. As long as you can manage sex every 2-3 days throughout most of your cycle you really are doing everything you can. I know, easier said than done!

Sk1pper you have every chance of getting up duffed before your two-year mark, and you have youth on your side! I totally sympathise that it's tough to feel optimistic right now though.

Alexia I forgot to wish you a happy birthday! Glad you got through it without tears and have some home comforts coming up x

Jam I used to hate hot cross buns but changed my mind the last few years. I think they're even better because they symbolise the end of winter/longer days/spring sunshine which is a massive psychological boost!
We haven't thought any more about starting the IVF yet. We have a long holiday planned in March to Asia so focusing on that for now. Each month I feel (fool myself?) that my body feels a bit more normal and that it has just taken me a while to settle after the pill, and the BFP will be easier next month. Obviously I can't go on indefinitely with that plan though..!

Hi Starmist, how are things going for you?

Thinking of you today Kwick, hope you have a hand to hold X

Have a good Friday everyone, and sorry to all those I still haven't said hello to. Hope to see some lovely happy news on here soon.

InspectorPenguin · 10/02/2017 13:51

Oh, I just remembered I saw some chat on here about short, light periods. I have the same - some months it has hardly been 24 hours and less than 20ml (I know that knowing the amount sounds weird; it's only because I use a cup that has ml markings on it!). I discussed it with the fertility consultant and he said he didn't consider it any kind of factor related to success of TTC so I honestly wouldn't worry.

When I had the internal ovarian scan it showed I had a 10mm lining at CD10 which is pretty much ideal, but my period following that was still only a day or so in length. So take it off your list of things to stress over!

HepKestrel · 10/02/2017 14:08

jam very slowly is the answer !

i bought some wool and the design for a blanket as my goal.

I am using the happy hooker book: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00ESCURFY/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1&tag=mumsnetforum-21

but i want to also try some of the videos recommended by wooly hugs: beta.woollyhugs.com/index.php/crafting-guide/help-absolute-beginner/

I would love to contribute squares, but I am very rubbish! my last "square" was a bit triangular ......

Pyjamas81 · 10/02/2017 14:27

Ah jam am happy to hear I'll have someone to keep me company on a opk/temp free cycle! We can talk each other off the ledge hahaha. I'm thankfully out of CB digital opks and I'm going to ask DH to hide my cheapies.

Penguin I know what you mean about not wanting to start every day thinking about ttc by temping - stopping temping after ov meant I was pretty chilled and only freaked out once spotting started right at the end! I'm strangely looking forward to this cycle now.

AlexiaB · 10/02/2017 15:43

Aww Jam (hugs) It's only because I was literally was all cried out! I started bawling late Friday evening when my ttc buddy who has 5 kids already got a clear positive at 8dpo and I knew it wouldn't happen for me that cycle. From that point on I never stopped crying, I fell asleep sobbing that night. I then spent most of Saturday afternoon on the phone to my mum having a break down and it continued all week. DH didn't know what to do with me! Because of my falling temps and all the BFNs (umm so I peed on 10, yes TEN, frers in 5 days BlushShock) I'd already mourned af before it had even arrived! So in summary... nothing brave about me, just bonkers Grin

I'll try join you and pyjamas in the a relaxed cycle this time. No hpts DH has banned me and maybe just a few temps to confirm O or if I need to confirm af will be coming but is just late since my lp is unpredictable atm. We can do it ladies! Brew

Thank you Inspector. Btw I love reading your posts, I enjoy the way you write Smile

So I need to be slapped in the face with a wet fish. Me and DH are seeing friends this weekend, and they have a 6 month old baby. It will be just the 4 of us and the baby. I am desperate for cuddles, but the thought of cuddling a tiny squishy baby makes me want to cry.

Someone give me a kick up the pants!

HepKestrel · 10/02/2017 16:51

flash as requested Smile

HepKestrel · 10/02/2017 16:52

sorry flash it is hard, but i find the shock the worst, and then baby cuddles are quite nice. just imagine all the stinky nappies.

Flashinthepan · 10/02/2017 16:54

Hahaha Hep perfect. Exactly what I asked for and some sage advice to go with it!

Londonjam · 10/02/2017 18:22

Thank you for your womble reassurance inspector that really is good to know. Your Asia holiday sounds fabulous!

Hep thank you for those links I am going to look into this! Would love to make a blanket

Hiding cheapies is a good idea pyjamas I had shamefully already talked myself into doing one or two next week to just see where I'm at. Gah I can't believe I'm this weak already! Christ I bet you weren't expecting me to wobble that quickly hahaha

Oh alexia love you poor thing, ten is impressive Shock yes join us in a relaxed cycle! 😎

Flash enjoy a cuddle! And think of being woken up every 30 minutes or so throughout the night by it screaming at you!

Londonjam · 10/02/2017 18:24

Ah and happy Friday everybody Wine we've got through a tough week this week. I hope next week is better 🌷

MissyJones80s · 10/02/2017 18:34

Massively emotional to read your post kwik much love to you, I've not been there so can't begin to imagine how you must feel but I have had a friend go through virtually the same. Just wanted to say I'm thinking of you Flowers

Happy weekend all! I'm so tired tonight and looking forward to a couple of days of chill out time. DH and I had a bit of a row last night / this morning - I think this has all been affecting him more than I realised but it's all good now.

I'm liking the relaxed cycles we've all got planned. The OPKs are staying firmly hidden this time. I got way too excited thinking we'd cracked it last month because we got our timing spot on.

Thinking of you bluebell and everyone else who is struggling at the moment Flowers

88claire · 10/02/2017 21:54

Hope the next few days go quickly for you.

I've realised I'm the most impatient person... Ive locked away anything that can be peed on!

CarleyColie · 10/02/2017 23:06

Sorry sk1pper & bluebell Flowers

I downloaded FF a few days ago Alexia.. it looks a bit complicated, hope it gets easier as you start using it more?!

sk1p can you add me to the list with testing date of 4th March please?

AF finally buggered off, let the shagathon commence Blush Grin

Mrsbluebell17 · 10/02/2017 23:22

Hi Skipper please add me on for 10th March. Thank you.

Thanks Kathrino and Carley.

Pyjamas81 · 10/02/2017 23:32

Thanks for the new list skipper Smile** AF is due 8th March but I'll be testing on he 11th.

Just had the mother of all fights with DH - I went out for a couple of drinks (last minute 'fancy a swift one?' decision) with a work friend - only had a medium glass of wine, small glass and a gin and slim, home by 8.30pm and DH was livid. He wants me to cut out drinking entirely (even though our fertility specialist told us both moderation was fine), and was annoyed because I 'changed plans' by deciding to go for a drink at the last minute even though a) we didn't have any plans, b) I told him I was going for a quick one as soon as I knew and c) I called him as I was on my way home to let him know I was coming back and ask whether he wanted me to pick up anything. I could tell he was annoyed with me, so I asked him why, which translated to me picking a fight and then everything blew up. I'm seething.

Sorry for the rant everyone! Just very 😡 at the moment. I had a lovely time having a quick catch up with my friend and now I feel like I can't even have a couple of drinks without being watched and judged 😤
