Thread 25. TTC #1 - February Fertility Fighters on the FRONTLINE

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

According to OVIA I should test on the 18th. This is the first two week wait I've managed to pinpoint so my mind Is running away with me!

I'm also gonna try to wait for AF but I'm sure curiosity will get the better of me!

So, TMI question for people who have had internal scans during AF...is it okay to wear a tampon that morning? Or is that gross? Is a towel better? Ugh. This is all so icky.

I had one once during AF and I wore a towel. I apologised to the technician who said something along the lines of 'Oh dont worry if I wasn't ok with blood I wouldn't have gone into this profession'.

I really wouldn't worry I'm sure they have seen it all before. I would go with whatever you are most comfortable with.

Kath - they literally don't care. I had a really good bath before my appointment (it was in the morning luckily) and it wasn't too bad in the end. But I wore a towel and she got me to strip behind a curtain before the internal so you can hide the dirty towel under your clothes if you like.

Is it me or did hippychic go AWOL? I seem to have a(nother) memory gap.

kathrino wear a towel. They are very used to doing baseline scans with AF. My favourite sonographers at CRGH are: Chiarra, Elena, a lovely Greek lady and a lovely German lady. But everyone is pretty nice :)

Thanks sk1pper, mine is also morning so will be doing something similar. How much stripping do you have to do? Presumably it's similar to a smear...?

Thanks kwick, the doc did say she'd be happy to do the scans herself if I preferred (I'm not very good with internal stuff due to my history) but she also said that all their sonographers were very nice. I'm v glad you've confirmed that though!

Hey girls. I'm still here but struggling to keep up. I feel like I don't deserve all your amazingly kind messages. I'm sorry for stepping back. I've been so down and tearful. I hit rock bottom. I finally started spotting this evening ironically a relief so CD1 will be tomorrow - my birthday💔😭 I've feared that happening all year! That's both my 25th and 26th birthdays now ruined by the witch. I'm literally back at square one a whole year later!

My lp has gone from one extreme to the next too with the Femara and B100 combo. I definitely need to half my intake. A strong dose of B complex really does work if you need help with your lp ladies!

Skipper, pyjamas Bluebell really rooting for your bfps 🙏 I'm sorry you've been having such a horrid time of it and getting mixed messages from your bodies. Lol at the pepper baby!
