Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

London is AF over? No more bleeding/spotting?

Londonjam · 07/02/2017 13:48

AF has been weirdly short over last few months flash , it's heavy for two days then stops. It stopped Saturday night and I started feeling unwell Sunday. God know if it's related. Made it to the doctors without passing out! I hate feeling so faint ☹️

Flashinthepan · 07/02/2017 13:57

Good luck at the docs! Let us know how it goes. Fingers crossed it's just a horrid virus and will go away quickly!

sk1pper · 07/02/2017 14:23

If your scans were clear of cysts the only type of cyst it could be is those ones you get on the ramp up to ovulation (the ones I suffer from). Unless you've had one form very quickly since your scan, but seems unlikely. Hope you feel better soon xxx

harrietm87 · 07/02/2017 14:43

jam my AF has been like that since July as well. After a lot of googling I decided it's likely to be a natural part of getting older - apparently normal to have changes to cycles in your late twenties and thirties. Hope you feel better soon.

Pyjamas81 · 07/02/2017 14:53

I worry about short AF as well jam. - mine are really light and last 2 days max with barely anything on second day. This worries me as I think there may not be enough lining for anything to latch on to! Will be getting on to the raspberry leaf tea as soon as cycle 9 (😫) kicks in. Hope it goes ok at the docs.

Flashinthepan · 07/02/2017 14:55

Me too! Mine are still 4 days but 1 heavy, 2 medium and one light. They used to be 7/8 days before I went on the pill and supremely heavy the whole way through.

Kathrino · 07/02/2017 15:12

If it makes you guys feel any better, mine are 7 days and that's clearly not helping here!

Jam, hope you manage to get something to make you feel better Flowers

Londonjam · 07/02/2017 15:44

Glad I'm not the only one with short AF! What's the deal with raspberry leaf tea pyjamas?

I'll add short period to my list of questions for the specialist. So far I've got:

ME
High prolactin
Short periods
Two weird episodes of lower abdo pain in the night
Can I have a hycosy?
Should we try clomid?

HIM
low morphology - can we conceive naturally or will we need IVF , and possibly ICSI
can we improve morphology?
What's the timeline?

Is there anything I'm missing?

MissyJones80s · 07/02/2017 15:52

flash my cycle is same as yours only this time it followed with a few days of a teeny bit of brown spotting like literally on wipe (sorry tmi) per day. The more I hear from people about cycles the more I realise hardly anyone has the same each month and weird bits in between

macsworth · 07/02/2017 16:07

I'm the same, short light periods. 2-3 days really. And I've had the same worries that this means my lining isn't juicy enough.

I started with raspberry leaf tea because it's meant to improve lining but then stopped because I read the hibiscus in it is bad for TTC...it's a mine field!

That's a good list of question jam. Great to go prepared! Hope you begin to feel a bit better, sounds like a horrible virus.

hep that's brilliant! Let's remember that even if you google "itchy little finger" or "twitchy eyelid" it's probably listed as a pregnancy symptom somewhere on the internet. I googled "cold feet early pregnancy" last cycle ((hangs head in shame))

Pyjamas81 · 07/02/2017 16:19

I was only planning to drink raspberry leaf tea until ov, but shall do more research on it!

macsworth · 07/02/2017 16:24

I'm sure it's totally fine but the advice is all so contradictory that I freaked out and stopped drinking it.
I tried to find a brand without hibiscus in it but they all seem to have it in. I'm sure it's such a tiny amount that it doesn't matter.

sk1pper · 07/02/2017 16:26

Macs - the brand you can buy in holland and Barrett contains a genus of hibiscus that isn't a natural contraceptive. I asked Wink

QuietTime · 07/02/2017 16:40

Been a lurker on the TTC threads over the past month, as stopped contraception just before Dec; finally prompted to post to say thank you to mac - cold feet early pregnancy made me laugh out loud towards the end of a fudging annoying day at work Grin

Feel like I should share now that I've butted in:
Age 33
TTC#1 (obvs)
Cycle 2
CD 7

Might not post much, but will say thank you for sharing while I'm here - am amazed by how positive and supportive you are! x

QuietTime · 07/02/2017 16:41

*Just before Xmas, not Dec. These details matter...

HepKestrel · 07/02/2017 16:54

welcome quick !

foot is much better.... limp almost gone... but tiny bit of swelling still there (also lovely shade of purple). fx i can get back to the treadmill on friday. I am desperate to get back running, but don't want to risk going back too soon..... ho hum....

So one purple foot due to slipping down stairs, and the other has a purple middle toe from kicking the sewing machine..... my feet are pretty! Grin

I am officially a klutz !

6dpo ...... not that i'm counting.

Kaydee2017 · 07/02/2017 17:06

If cold feet is an early pregnancy symptom I am a shoe in! Despite not DTD in FW, but we'll just ignore that bit Grin

Is there (and I realise this sounds crazy), an 'acceptable' period length that is optimal for TTC & successful implantation? Withdrawal bleeds on the pill were 7-8 days for me, with days 1-3 being massacre style heavy, but now seem to be 4 days and only really heavy on day 1, and I'm probably stretching there! Hmmm Hmm

Kaydee2017 · 07/02/2017 17:07

Ooooh & glad you are on the mend hep!! Smile

Londonjam · 07/02/2017 17:12

Hahaha at cold feet and pregnancy 😬 defo been there!

Welcome quiet please join in!

Glad you're on the mend hep
*
Kaydee* 4 days sounds normal to me

Kathrino · 07/02/2017 17:15

Good questions Jam. My prolactin result came back a bit high (but not super high) so that's on my list to ask about too. I know there's a lot that can impact the result though so I've not been too worried about but maybe I should be :/

Welcome Quiet.

Glad your foot is on the mend Hep.

macsworth · 07/02/2017 17:16

Thanks skipper. That's so good to know! Ignore my paranoid hibiscus chat pyjamas. I'm off to stock pile Raspberry Leaf Tea for next cycle.

Hi quiet, welcome to the madness 👋🏼😬

hep your feet really are taking a battering! If you go back this week, take it gently and build it back up slowly!

Londonjam · 07/02/2017 17:57

Kath is it your initial appointment on Thursday?

Kathrino · 07/02/2017 18:03

Jam, sorry, I saw you asked that earlier and I totally blanked it (having a crazy day at work and trying to do too many things!).

I had a very initial appt a few weeks ago before we had any tests etc done. The doc said to have a number of things (blood tests, couple of other swabs, SA for DH, ovarian reserve test for me) and then we'd be in a better position to come up with a plan. DH has got his SA tomorrow and my appt on Thurs is for the ovarian reserve test. Hoping to make a follow up appt in the next week or two to discuss the results. I've already been through the blood test results with my GP and there was nothing of any note (other than the slightly raised prolactin) and I'm also under a rheumatologist for other stuff and have discussed it with him previously. Unless there's something up with DH, we're probably heading down the unexplained route which means we'll prob have to just keep trying for a while longer unless we want to throw a load of money at the problem.

sk1pper · 07/02/2017 18:04

GRAH!! I don't believe it, I think my period has started...4-5 days early. I am completely beside myself, to have gone through all that physical pain of a HSG for it now to have completely screwed up my cycle beyond all recognition. I'm sick and tired of dealing with all this Sad.
