Impatient or Pregnant!?

Hi
Me and Husband are TTC. I came off the pill 29th December 2016. Its now 26th January and I've had no bleeding. I was on the everyday mini pill for a year and a half with no breaks for periods so I don't know my cycle. We started having unprotected sex asap. For the last two weeks I've had sore breasts/nipples mainly. Cramps. No bled. Taken a second test today and it was negative.

Is it possible I'm pregnant and too early on? Or am I expecting too much, too fast? :(

Any one else been on the same pill and become pregnant straight away?

Thanks

So having DTD last two nights might have been a happy accident lol x did you get pregnant fast after coming off the pill?

Yes it definitely is a happy accident!! When I came off the pill last time it took seven weeks for my first proper period to arrive then another three weeks til ovulated again, I was lucky to catch it on the opk as we weren't really dtd very much. So all in all 12 weeks from stopping pill to getting positive pregnancy test but only on second cycle so I think that was pretty quick. I was on combined pill before but switched to mini pill recently due to being too heavy. I hate it though I won't be going back on it again

Sshsecretenclosed · 18/02/2017 08:22

Emma love hearing positive post pill stories. Currently I'm on cycle 2 post pill. Waiting for my bfp when the time is right. I'm loving how I feel post pill. I never want to return to it.

16MrsE · 18/02/2017 08:27

Hope I get as lucky as you were hun. Going to do another OPK at same time 3pm today and see what's what.
I was on mini pill for same reasons, heavy periods, and I loved it tbh. X

Oh I was put on cos I was too heavy, put on about a stone and a half when pregnant and hadn't lost any. And just kept creeping up! Have recently joined weight watchers and have lost a stone so far. Would need to lose another 3 but if I could lose 1.5 I'd be back to my pre pregnancy weight which is bound to help. Too much lucozade when I was pregnant!! Blush

Emma2803 · 18/02/2017 09:07

Sshsecretenclosed I know how you feel I feel so different since stopping the pill!! Good luck getting your bfp!! I hope I have such a n easy time again this time!!

Oh I meant to say I think I am getting a withdrawal bleed after taking last tablet on Sunday. Tmi but started off yesterday brown and turned watery red is very light. Should I count this as day 1 of cycle?

16MrsE · 18/02/2017 12:24

Well done on the weight loss Emma keep it up but don't stress yourself out chic xx
I never got a withdrawal bleed.. Just had a period a month after coming off so I'm not sure. I think if it only lasts a few days and is very light they don't class it as a period x

My first period after coming off the pill at Christmas (end of Jan) was so light. Three days max. I'm thinking it might have been anovulatory cycle but did get a LH surge. It's all so confusing!

16MrsE · 18/02/2017 12:54

Odd that I didn't get anything then. Put I did have ovulation symptoms but didn't realise at the time and had no OPK kits to test. I didn't think I could ovulate until I had had a period. That's when I started the kits. I'd ask your doctor if ur not sure but I'm certain I've read that if it lasts 5 days to a week it's a period and it it's light and onto for a day or two and you've just stopped pill then it's most likely withdrawal

Doesn't mean you did anything wrong Hun, sometimes it just doesn't happen. I'll be on my 4th cycle this month and don't think I'm doing anything wrong I've just not been one of the lucky ones yet. Good luck x

user1471496670 · 01/03/2017 11:53

I'm on my 5th cycle and sometimes feels like it'll never happen...and in all that time I can count on one hand the number of days we haven't dtd. Positive OPKs.
Just one of those things unfortunately. Fingers crossed for the next few months for you!

16MrsE · 01/03/2017 11:55

Don't know how you are coping hun, what have the doctors said?
I don't see how I could have do it better, don't get how I'm not pregnant tbh :/ xxx

You haven't done anything wrong, it can take time to conceive! I suggest reading 'taking control of your fertility' to understand how it all works and what you can do to maximise your chances! It took me six months first time and five months second time to conceive even using opks and doing everything right! Good luck!

16MrsE · 01/03/2017 12:02

I'm just too impatient I guess... I don't know if I could cope being disappointed month after month :( it's so sad how drunken people will get pregnant by accident just over a one night stand but those who plan and actually want a baby have to wait so so long. My period is due Friday so I will wait and see if it comes or not but clear blue says you can test upto five days earlier and it's been a negative this morning so not looking likely :(

OP posts:
user1471496670 · 01/03/2017 14:33

I'm disappointed every month but just trying to stay positive. A few of my friends fell quicky but also lots of them took between 6-10mths which is perfectly normal.
The doctor hasn't said anything as there's no need to consult one yet, will make an appointment if still no joy after a couple more cycles but only because of my age (nearly 39). If I was under 35 you need to try for a year before consulting a GP.

ellesbellesxxx · 01/03/2017 14:40

I mean this with the best will in the world, two cycles (if that?) since coming off contraception is still very early days.
If you have sex every other day, in your fertile time, you are giving yourself the best chance.
I speak as someone who took 2.5 years and IVF to conceive so I know exactly what it's like to go month after month with no success... most women will conceive within 6 months to a year, chances are you will top

ellesbellesxxx · 01/03/2017 14:41

*you will too

16MrsE · 01/03/2017 15:11

Going to test again after Friday if my period doesn't come but just thought I had been lucky to have DTD whilst having a positive OPK.. I'm 24 and both me and my Husband are slim and healthy so had got my hopes up :/ xxx

OP posts:
Redpony1 · 01/03/2017 16:10

Why do you think you done something wrong?

You could DTD everyday between missing periods, ovulate but still not fall pregnant - it's just how it is.

A digital test isn't the most sesitive for early detection either i've read, most people use FRER (First Response Early Response) tests, which aren't too expensive. You can get twin packs on Amazon for about £6 Smile

Just chill out, relax, it will happen. Drs won't be interested until 12months failed cycles at your age unfortunately

16MrsE · 01/03/2017 16:38

I've been using those wee strip tests and this morning used a clear blue which says you can test upto five days before the day of your period so I've tested two days early and it's said not pregnant :/ x

OP posts:
ellesbellesxxx · 02/03/2017 04:41

I would really recommend not testing until the day you miss a period.. you will drive yourself mad. Yes some people get an early response but not everyone.. everyone's hormones are so different!
It's disappointing I know but take vitamins, dtd and enjoy! You have time on your side, you do not need to worry until it's been a year really at your age.
