Impatient or Pregnant!?

Hi
Me and Husband are TTC. I came off the pill 29th December 2016. Its now 26th January and I've had no bleeding. I was on the everyday mini pill for a year and a half with no breaks for periods so I don't know my cycle. We started having unprotected sex asap. For the last two weeks I've had sore breasts/nipples mainly. Cramps. No bled. Taken a second test today and it was negative.

Is it possible I'm pregnant and too early on? Or am I expecting too much, too fast? :(

Any one else been on the same pill and become pregnant straight away?

Thanks

But stress can affect ovulation etc, so just try and let things happen and not stress about it. You might fall straight back in to normal cycles, you might not. Chances are you will but it's not healthy to stress over something you have no control over. Just trying to be as healthy and as relaxed as possible is the best you can do and how mother nature works best - i'm in your boots so i know easier said than done but i have stopped myself stressing, stressing won't get me upduffed Grin

Your Dr gave you incorrect advice about being fertile as soon as you come off the pill, because it's well documented that after taking the mini-pill things can take a while to reset unlike coil and implant...

Does this bleeding I've had mean I am now fertile and will be releasing an egg any time soon? X

Okay so I've done OPK another faint line. The bleed hasn't been heavy and is a brown colour. My nipples will have been sore for three weeks on Monday and over last 4-5 days Ive had stomach cramps. Any ideas girls?

Hey hunny. It's completely normal that you are having "pregnancy symptoms" those are actually period symptoms. They are the same. Your body is probably having a little bit of a meltdown right now. Please give it time. It's very frustrating but really you should try to relax and let your body have its first period to correctly date a pregnancy. It can take up to 6 months for your cycles to return and become regular and another 12 for conception.

It took me 50 days to get my first AF, constant testing will drive you mad. I got my BFP on cycle 3 but sadly I've had a missed miscarriage yesterday.

Please be patient. This will just make you ready for parenthood. You have 9 months of waiting, prep and relax now.

Good luck. X

The bleed that started yesterday has got really heavy like my periods were before I ever started on pill. It's first one since I came off it December 29th. Does this now mean I will ovulate sometime in Feb once it's over? My periods use to last for weeks hence me starting on the pill to control them so I'm worried this one is going to be same :/ x

So sorry to hear of the miscarriage hun. I've had two in the past and it's awful. They only make you realise even more how much you want to be a mum x

I was on the combined pill for over a decade, stopped taking it and had withdrawal bleed within a few days.

Then didn't get a period because I was pregnant- I was almost at the end of the first trimester before I tested Blush

I never really imagined I was pregnant, no real symptoms and we weren't "actively TTC"

Plus I was nearly 35 and thought it would take a long time.

Similar thing happened last year when I stopped the same pill- pregnant before I had a proper period (sadly ended in MMC)

I don't know how common my experience is but just to say that it can happen

Good luck OP

Oh no sorry to hear that.

Missed your latest post.

Well now you can start to monitor your cycles- use OPKs or do morning temperature, whichever suits you.

We've been TTC for over 6 months since the miscarriage and I'm finding it very tough, had no idea really what was involved & how it can take you over totally!

Good luck

16MrsE · 04/02/2017 16:05

I'm just hoping it's not as long lasting as mine use to be. Its certainly as heavy and painful as they use to be :(
I have plenty of OPK tests to start using once it's stopped. When do you ovulate after a period has stopped and for how long?

I feel for you hun. I would have come off the pill along time ago if I had known x

Hi OP

If you take a 28 day cycle (which not everyone has, its just an example)- you tend to have a period approximately 14 days after ovulation has taken place (although this varies for everyone).

So if you're looking at a 28 day cycle, ovulation would take place roughly around day 14.

Using an OPK, I guess you could start around day 10 and keep going until you get a positive result.

16MrsE · 07/02/2017 17:23

Thanks hun. First day on period was 3Rd Feb. So I'll start testing from the 12th. Once you get a positive how long will this last? Also when is the best time to test? X

OP posts:
TurquoiseDress · 07/02/2017 18:22

My positive only lasted a day or so but that was with the cheap internet OPKs which I've used on & off since last July.

I bought a Clearblue digital the other week- have to say it's much easier to interpret- either negative, high or peak.

With the cheap sticks it's really down to individual interpretation.

After much googling it seems early afternoon is best time, but who knows. I've always done it afternoon/evening time.

Good luck!

16MrsE · 07/02/2017 18:41

Do you have to buy a clear blue one everytime you want to test or do you buy one and reuse it?

I've only got cheap strip tests from eBay x

OP posts:
TurquoiseDress · 08/02/2017 06:54

I've always used internet cheap OPKs

Not sure re Clearblue monitor- I cracked & bought one a few weeks ago as after 6 months plus TTC I felt we needed something more!

It was £28 for a monitor and 20 test sticks. Don't know whether you can buy the sticks individually or not.

I presume you need to use same monitor as it gets used to your readings etc, I think.

Don't know. All I do know is it can be an expensive business TTC!

I've been pregnant twice before but this is the first time it's taken so long.

16MrsE · 08/02/2017 07:18

Okie dokes well I'll see how I get on with the cheap OPK tests first and then may get the more expensive once I have an idea of my cycle etc but hoping to get pregnant soon and not have to wait month after month I'm too impatient

Help!!!!?

So I did a OPK test at 3pm today and it was strongest I have seen and closest to positive . Not been testing daily just whenever I get a moment. Just done another at 7pm but it's faded again. What does this mean!!!??? Have I missed my chance :(???

To be safe just get DTD!!

16MrsE · 17/02/2017 19:56

DTD?

OP posts:
Sshsecretenclosed · 17/02/2017 19:59

Get a bit jiggy winks I would say just Do The Deed because it might be as strong as you get. Get DH onto it and enjoy it!

Emma2803 · 17/02/2017 21:03

Good luck Mrs!!! Definitely don't think you have missed your chance!! You usually get a peak 12-36 hours before the egg is released so I would get the other half up the stairs pronto!! And the same for the next few days!!! Can I ask how many days that is since you stopped your mini pill? I took my last mini pill on Sunday!!

16MrsE · 17/02/2017 21:12

DTD Sunday and last two nights. Only got the positive OPK at 3pm and then 7pm looked faint. As I said not been testing on a regular/same time daily basis so not sure if I've missed my chance. I'm really hoping not. Will do another OPK at 3pm tomorrow and see what it says.

I stopped the pill 29th December, had my first period 3Rd Feb for just over a week and hoping to now be ovulating

OP posts:
Emma2803 · 17/02/2017 21:22

Oh I really wish you good luck MrsE and I definitely don't think you missed your chance!! You will probably get a faint line again tomorrow as it goes up.and then drops again. I was using the same opk when I got pregnant with my son who is almost 2. Strong line sat and sun night (must have caught it going up and down) dtd sun night, kept bum up in the air after to get gravity to help! Think I ovulated on the Monday and got my bfp less than two weeks later!! I honestly think they are great I have started using them already and am only getting very faint lines! Oh I'm so excited for you!!! Keep us informed!!

16MrsE · 17/02/2017 22:22

So a strong line means a egg will be released tonight or has already been and on way out? So confused.. Was Bfp?
I've been trying to ignore faint lines because it classes them as neg

OP posts:
Emma2803 · 18/02/2017 00:10

Strong line means ovulation will occur in 12-36 hours. Bfp means big fat positive (pregnancy test)
