My last period was 18th November. Usually spot on cycles and no bother whatsoever with bleeding in between

Quick check of calculator says I should be ovulating right now - we are not actively TTC but wouldn't mind if we did..

Now this today - sorry Sad..not heavy enough to be a period?! Is this what spotting is? Only blood when I wipe, it's pink/reddy so fresh blood; not brown..nowhere near enough to soak a pad or anything

Any ideas?

TMI (photo inc) and very sorry..

Fuck me. Awful lot of pearl clutching, period shaming ladies knocking about today. As a PP said - what if it was blood from a small cut or nosebleed? Or are you pathetic highly strung people all fanny-less and without menstruation?!?

PrimalLass · 02/12/2016 00:14

I can't believe that people who've had children, changed nappies etc would be so silly over a picture of blood on a tissue,

NiceFalafels · 02/12/2016 00:19

I implanted with all 4. Red and brown blood. The red was spots the size of a 2p or 5p

When did you ovulate. It takes at least a few days for the egg to travel down tubes and then burrow

My implantation bleeding was generally between 5 days post ovulation and 12 days. The earlier the implantation bleed, the earlier I got a positive.

EnidButton · 02/12/2016 01:56

What a fuss.

OP if you think you ovulate around now then it seems a little early for implantation bleeding however none of us can know and neither can you until around the time your period is due when you can take a test and then if no period shows up then do another 2-3 days later. It could be a very light early period, I've had that before for no serious reason or it could be that your cervix has been irritated by something. I would wait to see what your period is doing and if you're still concerned, go to see your GP who will have a look for you. and not be horrified by a bit of blood on a tissue 🙄

EnidButton · 02/12/2016 01:57

And I'm not qualified, just going off personal experience. If very worried then go to your GP.

EnidButton · 02/12/2016 01:58

("What a fuss" was in response to all the 'disgusted' posts btw, not the Op.)

IndianaJone · 02/12/2016 02:10

It's just blood! Just shows how, unfortunately, even women can view periods as shameful, dirty etc.

The op posted here for advice, she is clearly worried about what is going on with her body and thought that maybe in this supposedly supportive community she might get some help.

Maybe she shouldn't have posted the picture, but does it really matter? What matters is that the advice that has been given has been lost in a sea of posts villifying the poor woman so that she hasn't come back and is unlikely to post again for fear of more of the same.

Shame on all of you who have derailed this thread and prevented the op getting the advice she asked for.

Those who say they feel sick now...come on!! Op warned it was TMI, she warned of a photo, what did you think you might see? A fluffy kitty!!

It's blood. Like we all lose every month!

Eminybob · 02/12/2016 06:34

She probably posted in chat for traffic, or be used she's new and doesn't know her way around yet. And my first post was probably something to do with conception or periods or something as most women find mumsnet when looking for that type of specific advice.

Eminybob · 02/12/2016 06:34

Maybe she wanted to "chat" about it and didn't realise that it is an apparent faux pas? Most threads in chat could be placed in another category really.
The point is she was looking for advice, and got shot down instead.

I know there were and I hope that the op has read them. But there was a lot of derailment about how "disgusting" the photo is, which has kind of overshadowed the advice imo. And I suspect that's why the op hasn't been back.

cedricsneer · 02/12/2016 06:54

Clopy, you're awesome! MN is a strange place these days - where is the fucking sisterhood?!

The op is worried, there is a TMI warning and people get off on sporners corner, which I love has far more graphically disgusting pictures.

I'm sorry if you've been made to feel ashamed by your body op - totally unnecessary. Other topics will be much more sensible (conception/general health).

Fwiw I have often had mid-cycle bleeding - just one of those (hormonal/friable cervix) kind of things according to the doc. Keep an eye on it.

Also, this old fashioned and childish attitude of bodily fluids being "gross" is in part why people don't report these kind of symptoms and potentially serious health issues are missed (bowel cancer/ cervical cancer). Can't imagine how comfortable she will feel taking that to her doctor having been humiliated here Angry

cedricsneer · 02/12/2016 07:00

Yeah, yeah usual. Universally supportive and tolerant this thread.

cedricsneer · 02/12/2016 07:06

And while I'm at it usual - the definition of shame:

a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behaviour.

Kind of exactly what we are talking about. Wonder why the op hasn't been back.
