Thread 21 TTC #1 - The one where all our cycles went haywire but we DID NOT GIVE UP

Calling all clomid-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX) We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Thanks mouse; I should have said I've only been TTC since June despite coming off pill in Feb though. And gp knows as I discussed with her due to some other health issues (immune system) that I wasn't sure whether would impact (she said not as they are under control). I don't know whether to go about the periods just in case it's something they'll start looking at early?

WantingBaby1 · 01/12/2016 20:02

kwick it can indeed be grapefruit juice , that's what I had. Got to be pure though, not from concentrate. Tastes foul but bearable after a few days.

HepKestrel · 01/12/2016 21:07

Ooh.... dilemma.... My feet are cold but GrumoyOldCat has just fallen asleep on my lap......

Londonjam · 01/12/2016 21:37

Pugmummy87 · 01/12/2016 21:50

Hi all! I come back on and see a glut of bfps! Congratulations!

As for me, currently cd 44 Angry. Another long cycle. Tested 2 days ago, bfn so sadly not pregnant.
Need to phone GP to get DH's SA results. We were told the GP would phone if there was a problem, but I'm curious and want to check that all is fine that they have sent the referral off to the hospital for further investigations.

Has anyone here heard of or used ovusense?

Pages and pages to catch up on, so thinking of anyone going through the crap that is ttc. Flowers

kwick · 01/12/2016 22:44

kwick · 02/12/2016 06:06

OTD = BFN
I am really disappointed but not surprised. Oh well on to IVF round 3 I guess.

Happy Friday everyone!

MrsG280516 · 02/12/2016 06:31

So sorry kwick FlowersFlowers

I've been awake since 4.30 and didn't fall asleep till about midnight, tossed and turned all night. Hope I don't fall asleep at my desk today!

Starmist · 02/12/2016 06:41

I'm so sorry Kwick Flowers Please don't give up hope, it will happen for you xx

Best of luck for today Skipper. Let us know how you get on.

Binky since coming off the pill last September I had consistent 31 day cycles for 5 cycles. Then I had a 40 day cycle (was so convinced I was pregnant), then a 36 day one & now the last 3 have been 33 days. Some variations are normal but if you're concerned defo chat it through with your doctor.

Hi Pug sorry you're on a long crappy cycle. Hope you're ok apart from that.

DH has a bad cold which started on Saturday. I'd planned for us to start DTD from Monday but we haven't been able to. I'm actually proud of myself for not having a meltdown about this as I would have done in previous cycles. Still getting negative opks but expecting things will start to happen this weekend so I hope he recovers soon.

MouseLove · 02/12/2016 08:32

Kwick. So sorry. It will happen if you don't give up!! You are such an inspiration. X

AF is still here for me. Light but still here. So on top of a 23 day cycle I'm now going to have a longer than usual AF. Sod's law!! Shouldn't have POAS the day before!

I'm also still waiting for my MRI scan date so it looks like realistically I'm out for more cycles than I'd like. Ah well, I'm not, not trying and if it happens before then it happens. I doubt it will yet.

sk1pper · 02/12/2016 09:17

Hey Pug - good to see you again xx

Kwick - noooo Sad how do you remain so positive, you're an amazing lady. How quickly do you think they can put you in for round 3?

Star - thank you, appointment is soon...I feel sick. Your OH's cold should be over soon, just in time for your fertile days I hope!

Mouse - id keep trying too, the MRI is important for you though so try not to feel like it's getting in the way of things. Xx

geeup · 02/12/2016 09:25

Flowers for Kwick - thinking of you. I can imagine it's extra tough on your own dealing with the disappointment but we're all here for you and sending virtual hugs. I've taken notes on your recommendations and got on my uggs. Not that I'm even in FW yet! Had my first glass of grapefruit juice this morning to try and help with my CM...
Cake for you mouse. Extra cake for a long AF.
LSFX starmist.
Thank god it's Friday. Christmas can't come quick enough. Am so tired and ready for a break.

FXSkip · 02/12/2016 09:46

fucks sake kwick you're such a trooper. I'd be kicking off big time, if I knew you irl I'd be giving you a massive hug. You've been a huge source of knowledge and comfort to everyone here, I hope that 3 cycles really is the magic number for you.

Welcome back pug!!

So, to those of you/us on our 'proliferative phase' - gals, its womb-building time so get nourishing your womb! According to my acupuncturist that means the following:
-Exercising - especially legs, so walking and yoga. Helps to prevent atrophy of the muscles of the uterus

  • Looking after your liver - detoxing and eating liver-nourishing foods
  • castor oil compress over the uterus, as well as gentle abdominal massage
  • DTD - helps to strengthen the muscles and also is good exercise!

Anyone ov'ing, or getting near it - get DTD!! And anyone in the the TWW - see earlier advice.

So, everyone has their homework - lets get to it!

Hi pug what's ovusense? Good luck with your results. I'd request a print out if I were you, so you can see all the individual measures and how they are against the normal range. Our GP completely dismissed morphology but I've seen a lot of couples going through IVF on fertility friends as a result of it.

Kwick so sorry it wasn't to be this cycle Sad come on lucky number three. When can you get back on it?

Know how you feel starmist about getting all the planned DTD in. I wonder if I've been going overboard and actually less might be more? Let those swimmers build up. I might try this next month.

Mouse I wouldn't stop trying. I had a CAT scan a few months ago whilst TTC and my best mate who is an obstetrician said it wasn't a big deal

I'm 6 DPO today so hoping to hell a sperm has chatted up my egg and they are looking for somewhere to set up home. Perhaps I'll have some pineapple today.

MrsG280516 · 02/12/2016 10:58

I've got everything crossed for you Jam

WingingIt83 · 02/12/2016 11:17

Harriet and alexia I get mine from holland and barrett. I take the vit b50 complex (you can also get b100) which has 50mg of b6 and also the advantage of 400mg folic acid.

www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/holland-barrett-mega-b-50-vitamin-b-complex-caplets-60000580

Does anyone else find the mumsnet mobile site view has changed? Mine looks more like a desktop site and isn't as easy to use.

sk1pper · 02/12/2016 11:29

I've had my appointment and it's all really good news. The doctor was amazing, ive never had him before but he went through the results thoroughly and explained it all.

Hormones levels are perfect, swabs clear, the ultrasound was fine (including ovaries which were cyst clear despite my problems with a cyst a few cycles ago) and OH's sperm was to quote the Doctor "incredible"...I swear OH hasn't stopped grinning since.

The Doctor said there is no evidence to suggest anything is wrong but we've been referred to a fertility specialist nethertheless as he says 15 months is a long time for these kind of optimal results.

He's told me the earliest I can expect to hear from a specialist is late February. And he's suggested that whilst I wait for this I do away with the temping, OPKs and silly diets and enjoy Christmas. I nearly cried when he told me the results and he said I may not feel it but he can tell this is stressing me out and I must relax. He said most his patients end up pregnant when they least expect it.

Soooo I'm going to try! No OPKs, no temping and no worrying until my fertility appointment. I definitely feel like a huge weight has been lifted now.

Miranda234 · 02/12/2016 12:01

Aw sk1pper that's such great news, must be a huge relief to know everything's ok Smile. The silly diets bit made me laugh as I have grapefruit juice, pineapple and water in front of me on my desk haha

HepKestrel · 02/12/2016 12:01

woohoo skipper !!! that is great news !

your doctor sounds ace !

MrsG280516 · 02/12/2016 12:03

That's amazing news Sk1pper, really hope that ditching all the tracking works for you!

MouseLove · 02/12/2016 12:08

Sk1pper. I'm so happy for you. That is fantastic news. I almost want to tell you to get off here for a few cycles, relax, completely forget about the outcome and just enjoy the ride. I'm almost tempted myself since I've stopped temping this cycle but it's a bit early yet for me. And I'd miss you lol. But really. The body is a magical thing, I think we should trust it more.

Londonjam · 02/12/2016 12:14

Skipper that's brilliant Smile I don't think you'll be needing that specialist Wink happy chilled TTC Halo

Londonjam · 02/12/2016 12:15

Winging I use the app it's much easier
