Thread 21 TTC #1 - The one where all our cycles went haywire but we DID NOT GIVE UP

Calling all clomid-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX) We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Mouse are you seing an endocrinologist? I would mention you ttc . Did you have any blood tests already ? If yes get the values it would definately have tsh

MouseLove · 23/11/2016 12:52

Yes Nicky I'm still waiting to book my referral first appointment at the hospital. They've pushed back to my GP asking why I need an appointment. Thought that would be pretty explanatory!! Hmm

They haven't said how high, not even mentioned anything when I've said to the GP and even my rheumatologist I'm TTC.

I had some bloods done last month to test for arthritis and it came back hypothyroidism and high inflammatory levels. I was referred to rheumatology and endocrinology - unfortunately at separate hospitals.

MouseLove · 23/11/2016 12:53

Sorry. Hyperthyroidism not hypo. It's over active.

Nicky883 · 23/11/2016 13:23

I am not sure about hyperthyroidism tbh! everything is so slow on the nhs and i am impatient!

Miranda234 · 23/11/2016 14:03

Hi Ladies,

Just need a bit of advice as I don't know what to do! I'm on day 32 of my cycle now (my last cycle was 25 days), there's no sign of AF coming but then I have no symptoms that I could be pregnant either. I'm desperate to find out but at the same time don't want to as I have a feeling it will be BFN and I'm getting my hopes up. I think maybe it's just a long cycle and I'm adjusting to coming off bc?
Has anyone had anything similar?

Hope you're all having a good day

Londonjam · 23/11/2016 14:05

Mouse I'm pretty sure I get rumblings after O so maybe it's just your ovaries settling down after releasing a great egg

Geeup sorry lovey let us know how your referral goes Flowers

That's really interesting Nicky thanks for sharing. I am going to try and get a print out of my blood results

Loving fxskips stats thanks for those they are uplifting! Hope you're wrong about AF

Londonjam · 23/11/2016 14:06

Miranda I would have to know and take a test personally but I completely understand your reluctance. Good luck

MouseLove · 23/11/2016 14:38

Miranda what cycle are you on off BC? I know you are being aware but cycles can be very irregular after BC and take up to 6 months to calm down. My last cycle was 50 days. I did one test on CD36 but if I'm honest I knew I wasn't pregnant. FX it's not too much longer for you. X

Miranda234 · 23/11/2016 14:51

Thanks Jam I think I will just take a test and get it over with! Not knowing is driving me crazy... Fx for you too, looks like your timings are coming together well 😊

Mouse it's cycle 3 now , my last AF was really light too when usually it's really heavy... Yes that's what I thought, I'm pretty sure it's just my body getting back to normal after coming off BC, might just test then at least I know one way or another..

Thanks for your help 😊

geeup · 23/11/2016 14:54

Miranda I would have tested ages ago if I was you! Sorry. I know it's frustrating but just go for it so at least you know.
AFM had my final appointment with the fertility consultant before moving to the IVF clinic subject to approval from my CCG. Filled out the papers and had our final tests (clamidiya, HIV). We can expect an appointment for our first consultation in around January so just winging it on clomid till then. Feel like I'm entering a bit of a different chapter from some of you guys as it'll mean effectively giving up on trying naturally from then which is scary.

Londonjam · 23/11/2016 15:17

gee I hope you stay with us. Do you not continue to try naturally?

Musicgrrl · 23/11/2016 15:23

gee so sorry about AF Flowers Please don't leave us! I feel like I am you but just a few months behind in the journey what with having the same short luteal phase issues. What did the consultant say about Clomid?

MouseLove · 23/11/2016 16:10

Don't leave us gee, my friend who unfortunately had ovarian cancer in her 20's had two rounds of IVF and then went on to conceive naturally. Don't give up hope. The body is a magical, weird & frustrating thing. FX for you. Xxxxxxx

In other news. I feel soooo fat! CakeChocolateHmm

geeup · 23/11/2016 16:59

Thanks guys. I'll stick around and you're right, I am still trying naturally until we have a date to start IVF which could be a few months anyway. I have 4 more months of clomid which I'll be taking without scans Confused so you never know. It just gets so tiring all this formulaic sex and my poor DH is so stressed with work. Might take December off - no opks or temping or anything except the clomid and just celebrate Christmas. Sigh.

sk1pper · 23/11/2016 17:14

Gee - don't be silly, sit back down! Grin

Nicky883 · 23/11/2016 18:54

Geeup please stay with us !!

Binkybunny13 · 23/11/2016 19:44

Hello all- have been away on holibobs and thought I'd lost you! Have just spent an age reading up on recent news- apologies if I've missed anyone

Alexia Flowers I'm so sorry

Kwick I'm trying your keep feet warm advice. Wish I'd remember the pineapple bit though! Any update?

Hep how's this cycle panning out? Can we have a pic of your new kitchen when it's done please?

Star Sorry you've been feeling it Flowers What lovely parents you have, and great PMA for this cycle. Love the folder! And fantastic news about your Womble!

Fxskip Has your dream come true yet- should we be calling you Gwyn?! Sorry about the house bringing up emotions- I second london in saying you are being incredible for your MIL. And you are not a bitch for not spending lots of time fussing over the baby. It's really hard and we all can empathise with how you feel. Has AF shown? And loving the stats btw!

Mouse hope you had an amazing time in Rome. Sorry the rheumatologist didn't give better news. Maybe it will invoke Sod's law and you'll be pregnant when the MRI comes- would that be risky for you if you had to delay that treatment? I also seem to have had some EWCM this cycle after I think I O-ed so FX for us that this is a positive sign!

London exciting about the house! Did you get in a DTD?

Skipper Has the symptom spotting progressed?! It' sounded so promising, you're not out until you're out remember

Oggy your nip to boobs ratio made me LOL Grin

EJ, gee and miwFlowers

We were away for what I think was FW (after freaky long last cycle am a bit confused) and DTD every day for 6 days in a row, but then we haven't for 4days (DH shifts and our long journey home limiting). I'm CD27 and had first lot of EWCM on CD19 (typical apparent O from me) then had more CD24/25. Am a bit worried re: late O after last cycle and flying which might have ballsed me up, but hoping there might be some sperm hanging around still. FX- have done no OPKs this cycle and tried to just have natural DTD rather than TTC DTD so would be lovely if the relaxed approach worked! AF due 30th- 1ww left Confused

sk1pper · 23/11/2016 21:36

Skip - I hope it's your month too despite your cervix dropping and the usual AF sign. Your stats are really awesome, statistically there should be a few BFPs this month from us.

Miranda - did you test? Let us know!

Binky - welcome back! How was your holiday? Go anywhere nice? Altitude changes can postpone ovulation but only by a few days really so hopefully you're ok.Unfortunately for me, as soon as I took that pregnancy test everything went downhill. I'm spotting and it looks quite dark tonight, some minor cramping and all my amazing pregnancy symptoms have gone. It's all like a distant dream now.

kwick · 23/11/2016 21:45

So earlier post did not send - please see photo:

kwick · 23/11/2016 22:05

skipper what a frickerty fcuk Flowers
I just had a Hycosy a few months ago. At my clinic it costs £550 - but I think you can get for around £400.
Procedure was as follows: speculum in, catheter in, speculum out, internal scan in, dye/foam in, PAIN, internal scan out, catheter out, PAIN.
You should get the results there and then.
Take paracetamol BEFORE!

jam hope you have LSFX!!!

That is me mrs I have MN and adult colouring books Grin

Sorry geeup Flowers

fxskip I believe your stats are defo worthy of kwick Cake

geeup I am an "intervention all the way baby" kinda gal - at the end of the day you want a baby - not sure it matters how it comes. If you leave, I would have to and I definitely do not want to do that!!!

Hiya binky hope you had a great holiday! I was wildly symptom spotting at the weekend but now I have a sinking feeling it will be another BFN....

MouseLove · 24/11/2016 00:28

Just got back from a gig. Went with DH, DS and her partner and a friend I've known forever. She blurted out....

"I can't wait for you to show me a scan pic, hurry up and have some babies, I don't want to be a 40 yr old god mother."

I froze. I wanted to cry!!!! I replied with "Well, it's not for want or trying, it might just take longer with my health problems, my thyroid alone probably needs to be fixed and then my joint/back/pelvis/knee problem needs to be stabilised." I muttered on quickly hoping she would get the hint.

"Well it would be a shame if you didn't have babies, because you and X are soulmates, the kind of people who should be having kids." And then took a massive swig of her beer. I had to escape to the loo, take a minute and compose myself.

Probably doesn't help my knees have been sore since Monday when I had to twist and hold positions for X-rays. So I just gave that excuse when I came back a bit sniffly.

I think it was the reality check I probably didn't want but needed. My body is probably not in the best shape to carry a baby right now as much as I desperately want this I need to be realistic. Probably doesn't help that I'm 33 in a week. Sad

Londonjam · 24/11/2016 00:47

Kwick stay positive find that PMA

Mouse ah people can be so insensitive Sad

Thinking of you penguin and others mia

I am on a major high tonight. I won three awards for the product I launched last year! I'm in marketing and moved jobs within the company for a launch. It's been a massive success and tonight all three of my entries won bloody industry wide awards! Can't believe it!!

Can't remember who asked, yes we got a shag in this morning. Can't imagine the champagne tonight will be doing my eggs any good but hey ho, maybe I'll be one of those "conceived whilst out on the piss" women Hmm

FXSkip · 24/11/2016 06:48

Congrats Jam that's great news - well done you StarStarStar

mouse best to look at it pragmatically - even the most well meaning friends can come across insensitive. I myself have said (in the past) hurry up to a couple that I knew were having IVF - I totally cringe now that I know just how hurtful it is.

Welcome back Binky and fingers crossed for you kwick remember how often we've had Bfps from people who were convinced they were out! Me on the other hand, I've had a temp drop last 2 days that I tried to ignore because I was cold (!) but pretty sure it means what it means. I just wish af would hurry up now.
