Hi,

Just wondered if anyone could help....

I've read in all the books "early sign of pregnancy = increased mucus", but what type?

Sorry if next bit TMI! You have the thick gloopy, clear, then stretchy. Which type are you looking for?! Technically im next due on Thurs 1st and i have got "increased mucus" but its slightly stretchy. Technically i shouldnt be ovulating and i did a an ov test just incase which was neg....

Any ideas?!

Thanks

Alas was mistaken. Did 2 tests (one friday, one today and both -ve). Think af coming (blood streaked tissue today).

plummymummy · 03/02/2007 22:20

How about you? Have you tested babylove?

babylove123 · 04/02/2007 18:21

Plummy, sorry AF poss come.......poss implantation bleed tho?! Got my fingers crossed 4 u!

Me, well im a disaster! Did a test in the morn, neg. Was going to see rellies yest, was partway down the M'way and suddenly was in agony, thought it was another water infection (suffer badly with them), pulled into services and was crying in pain, cld barely walk. Went for a wee (sorry if TMI) and felt relief, thought it must have just been a 1 off, bought some nurofen and as i was walking back to the car, i had stabbing pains in lower back and was screaming in pain. Tried to walk around and 5 mins later felt ok. Got back in car but water infection pain came back and made DP take me to hosp. They did a test and said there was nothing in my urine and made me see a doc who said they reckon its from my period being on its way and a heavy uterus pressing on my bladder. Load of crap i think coz i was taken to hosp last Oct with poss passing of a kidney stone (was in agony and losing blood). Got docs apt for 2morro to see wot he says........

How awful babylove. Hope you feel better soon xx

babylove123 · 06/02/2007 21:01

Hi Plummy,

Feeling a lot better thank you Am on anti-biotics incase theres any infection but have been booked for my kidney analysis in about 4 weeks time. Means im not allowed to try this month, cant be pg and have it and tbh, the pain i was in, i'd rather get it sorted. Sad tho and going to be hard to resist not trying......my heart will not listen everytime i see a babygrow!!!!

How are u? xx

OP posts:
plummymummy · 06/02/2007 22:11

I'm ok considering................considering that I have daily thoughts of leaving my job, running away (alone or with my family depending on my mood) or just hibernating for the winter. Then I have lovely moments with dh and ds and all is well again Glad you are getting the kidney thing sorted - sounded v painful. Avoid babygrows like the plague. I find pink frilly dresses hard to resist (would so love a girl)and I loiter far too long in Babygap in the girl section even though I have a boy!

babylove123 · 08/02/2007 19:58

Plummy, hmn are you ok? You sound a little down Whenever you're feeling crappy im happy to talk, have msn if u do?

Got my letter from the hospital today, i have to ring and make an apt but it has to fall within 10 days of my period starting. Sounds easy but considering theres a 3 week waiting list and im currently 7 days late......im never gonna guess right!!!!

Lol all my baby stuff is packed but i bought 1 of those graco baby swings instead of using a bouncer........i made it too it wont come apart!!! lol

OP posts:
plummymummy · 09/02/2007 15:23

Hi babylove. I'm feeling better now thanks - just finishing a period from hell so I think I was v hormonal. Arranging your appointment sounds like a logistic nightmare. Maybe you should just book the first available one, then rearrange it after? ds had one of those graco swings and loved it (though he used to bounce in it to get it to go faster!) Had a look in Pumpkin Patch today - avoid it cos they have some gorgeous babygrows and vests! Thanks for offer re email. Will bear it in mind if feeling suicidal/homicidal or just in need of a chat Take care xxx

babylove123 · 09/02/2007 19:48

Plummy, glad you're feeling better. Well im officially snowed in here! Took me an hr to get home and usually it takes 12 mins. Was a nightmare! Been having kittens bout dp getting stuck @ work but hes ok now! (sigh)

Glad you're feeling better, yeh the offer of email is there anytime

Im trying to stay clear of everything babylike.......its hard!!!

Maybe next month eh?

Crikey - snowed in? Where do you live? Glad yr dp got home ok. Being stuck at work on a friday is NOT GOOD!

babylove123 · 10/02/2007 15:47

Yup, snowed in in gloucestershire. It got so bad they officially shut this place saying there were no accessible roads!

DP and i made a 5'2 snowman and you wouldnt have even realised we'd used any of the snow! Was well over a foot deep in the end. Luckily its raining now so its going, i do like it but im bored of being stuck here!!!

OP posts:
plummymummy · 10/02/2007 16:03

Well in surrey we only had a couple of inches but when it snowed 2 weeks ago they didn't even grit the roads and it caused chaos - cars crashing all over the place

babylove123 · 10/02/2007 21:18

Plummy, they said we'd have the 1 lot of snow on Wed night/early thurs morn. They gritted the main rds but living down in a cul-de-sac, there was no way my car wld make it up the hill.......got my boss to come and get me. On Fri, that wasnt planned and was a bloody nightmare (as you'll have read in previous posts). Snow turning to slush as its rained all day but i moved my car a couple of feet today and it could barely do that so no chance of moving yet it seems! Got monday off anyway so by Tues, shld be back to normal......i bloody hope so!

Hmm, we have graduated from cervical mucus to snow! Women are so great at multi-tasking

babylove123 · 10/02/2007 22:38

Lol, plus im like 10 days late now with neg tests so the whole "CM" thing is pretty useless in my eyes!!!!!!

plummymummy · 10/02/2007 22:43

oh sorry, that is horrible when your cycle goes up the pole. It happened to me last August - I had been regularly getting af around 21st of the month, then suddenly I was really late and didn't get it til the 5th of the month. It's now always on the 5th. Don't know why it changed. Bizarre.

gingermonkey · 10/02/2007 22:55

Not really relevent, but quite funny..... when my waters broke with DD I didn't realise, I just thought I was producing more mucus and didn't think anything of it until my contractions started to get quite bad and I noticed meconium in the loo when I went for a wee. So, 2nd time round with DS I was a bit more aware and I was coming up to the last 8 weeks or so and was having a bit of a dribble in my knickers so I was talking to my friend who asked how long it had been going on and I said 'well, I've really noticed it today and I'm wearing a pad so I think I may have started but I'll call the hospital and go in in the morning if I get pains or it's still going on'. I called DH (who wasn't living with me at the time...long story) and said 'look, if you can at all stay with your phone tonight because I think my waters have broken and we are a bit too early so if it carries on I may need you to meet me at the hospital'. I called the hospital the next morning because it was worse and I met DH there who was flapping as only a man can do (especially as he'd moved out and felt like a c word - which he was but that's by the by). After being on a monitor for ages and having blood tests the consultant finally arrived, had a poke about and a good look and said 'Mrs X, you are producing excess vaginal discharge'.....needless to say I felt a complete fool and drove home to explain to my in laws that I wasn't about to have a baby but I had an awful lot of mucus!!!! Isn't pregnancy fun? You lose all dignity!!!

babylove123 · 10/02/2007 23:02

Plummy, i've given up on knowing when im due, i seem to be lucky if i actually ov at all!!!!

Ginger, hehe @ your story! just put it into perspective, men make it out like we over-react but if it was them they'd be moaning, whinging and going for the whole works! Man Flu as i like to call it

OP posts:
gingermonkey · 10/02/2007 23:12

babylove, you are so right!!! BTW, when I was pregnant the early mucus was globby and thick and stretchy (TMI, sorry).

babylove123 · 10/02/2007 23:20

Thanks for the info

Hehe, its a proven fact that men get man flu. B4 xmas, i was really poorly with a chest and sinus infection and was recovering from passing a kidney stone. I was off work and dp rang me to say he was un-well and coming home. I was worried so idragged myself out of bed to make him some hot soup and a cup of tea when he got in, really made the effort. After he'd had that and whinged for 2 hrs, he sat on the sofa and played on the playstation for 3 hrs, laughing and shouting "goal". Needless to say i whacked him for his man flu!!!!!!! lol.

OP posts:
gingermonkey · 10/02/2007 23:30

lol, you do realise that you were not poorly at all, not compared to man flu which is a known killer!! . I'm off to bed, just realised the time - why does it fly so quickly when you are on here?! night night x

babylove123 · 10/02/2007 23:33

Oh yeh, a high temperature, vomitting & no sleep is no match for man flu, that requires instant attention and emergency medical attention! Hehe

Yeh im pooped, moving tomorrow and feeling a bit aprehensive so wont sleep anyway!

Night xx

Ooh good luck with the move babylove. Laughed at your story gingermonkey - I am assuming he has graduated from the C word and has been redeemed. I don't know the circumstances (and don't need to - not that nosy!)but can you imagine if a woman moved out, gave baby to male partner to look after and then went off somewhere to contemplate their future (aka sort my head out). Of course some women do this and they are seen as depraved. Oh to be a man (actually - no thanks )

gingermonkey · 11/02/2007 09:12

yep plummy, he's cured of the c-word tendencies and is all back to normal! (eg. being rather fab actually!!!! ). Not that I recommend a split whilst preggers but it has done us the world of good (and he did come home before DS was born - but only just!). You are right, if a woman decided to have a bit of a time out it would be all over and she would be a heartless homewrecking bitch...funny how we just accept these things (maybe it's because we know we are superior and that they just fall to pieces without us!)

plummymummy · 11/02/2007 10:35

Yes I think we humour their insufficiencies.
