I almost put this in arts and crafts, seeing as how we talk about crochet as much as we talk about babies!

Nope imps because of DJ's exams. Still, not long until m/l - one week. Kip and I are headed to London this wkend to leave him to it

Agree loopy you need them to keep looking for the reason

Lovely day here :)

Imps9 · 26/08/2016 13:04

here's one article Loops

Lovely day here too - we're heading to the lakes until Weds so hopefully the weather will be good up there too.

Imps9 · 26/08/2016 13:58

And this one suggests high dose vit E too - I will prob try Mr I on that too if we ever decide to try for another which I have already decided we will

keepitgoing · 26/08/2016 15:21

All good here and baby is head down :) next appt in 2 weeks at 36 weeks

ControlGeek · 27/08/2016 08:46

Wow, I didn't realise how long it had been since I last had a chance to post! So much news from everyone to catch up on!

Loopy I am so, so sorry this wasn't a better result for you. It sounds like taking a break is exactly the right thing to do. I've heard good things about the wellman and other vitamins recommended - MrG was on all of those things too, though in his case it just wasn't enough to overcome the damage done by his diabetes.

Glad you are still taking it easy Beedle, hopefully work will act as a bit of distraction.

Keep I can't get over how close your mat leave is! When is your EDD?

I swear I've read back but now I can't scroll to remind myself what was said it's all gone out of my head.

I'm 24 weeks today, so a nice milestone to reach. Lots of kicking going on, I think Geekling is still trying to work out which position she likes best as sometimes my bladder is taking the brunt and other times it's my belly button or diaphragm - I am still an innie, and long may it continue that way. We have stupid wave shaped desks at work and it's hard enough fitting into it as it is, without having to manage an extra half inch of belly button!

Our first large baby-related purchase is being delivered today - a tumble dryer. I've done a bit of knitting, but can't bring myself to actually buy anything just yet. I have started flashing glances at the baby aisles in shops though. What size is everyone's baby beanies measuring across at the rim? I can't seem to get my crochet tension right and they either look far too big or far too small.

I'll have to measure my hats Keep. One thing I've found with tension is that I can never adjust my natural tension (if that makes sense) - I find it much easier to use a bigger or smaller hook to get the right tension without having to change the way I crochet. I've done two patterns of hats - one using Aran and a size 5 hook, the other using DK and a size 4 hook. The latter is obviously smaller and looks more newborn size, but I might be under-estimating the size of a newborn's head.

Your blanket and cardigan are gorgeous, as is your bump! 24 weeks is a great milestone. I bet like me you could never have imagined getting to that stage.

How is Mr G??

Well done to Kiplet for being head down! You're in the final furlong now Keep. How bloody marvellous.

keepitgoing · 27/08/2016 10:51

Newborn heads are surely tiny

geek you look fabulous!

keepitgoing · 27/08/2016 10:53

Edd is 6th Oct but I doubt I'll still be pg then Shock

BeedlesPineNeedles · 28/08/2016 07:23

Lovely bump geek and the blanket and jumper are gorgeous. I found this on pinterest about hat sizes. I've made one in newborn but it looks a little bigger than the other hats that I have.

We went out and finally agreed on a pram :o and we got a Paddington toy to hang from it too!

Feeling mainly healthy here, though I had lots of braxton hicks on Friday evening. I think my mw said I should contact her if I get lots but I'm not sure why. Anyway it was late on Friday evening and I had no desire to spend the weekend being monitored so I didn't and they soon stopped. Babybeedle seems to have moved a bit now so maybe that was the cause.

Lovely bumps, positions and milestones in here.

My blanket is coming along nicely, such an easy pattern but very effective. I have seen so many lovely things to make but the yarn will cost a fortune so need to be patient

Oh I love those colours Pasta - great choice. Is that the Attic24 pattern by any chance?

Am having a few BH here too Beedles - have been walking quite a lot though so maybe that's a triggered them? Just went for a swim which I've not done since being pg. Was nice being weightless.

keepitgoing · 28/08/2016 13:50

beedle I've had loads. I wonder if they just want to know in case they were really contractions, which clearly they weren't! When's your next scan?

24 weeks is a wonderful milestone isn't it! Keep growing, brookingbabies. I hope we all keep chatting post natally, BTW. It's been a long old road together!

I absolutely can't wait to stop work and have some time I hope to get organised as i don't feel it at all. And boy names are stressing me out. pasta what would you have will you used for a boy...?

keepitgoing · 28/08/2016 13:51

X post imps I love swimming but feel so bloody heavy when I get out!

Pastamancer · 28/08/2016 14:04

Stanley is my favourite boy name but DH doesn't like it so we settled on Anthony instead. I like Peter too.

Yes it is the Attic24 Coast ripple, she chose the colours as I have no eye for such things.

Imps9 · 28/08/2016 14:08

Oh they don't look like the Attic24 coastal colours - v nice though.

We still haven't discussed names. I like to think that this is because MrImps is letting me choose them.

cartoontrickster · 28/08/2016 21:11

Hi everyone

So we had a scan on Fri as they hadn't been able to see everything properly (profile and heart) at our original 20wk scan. As it turns out it looks like there is something wrong with the heart

keepitgoing · 29/08/2016 06:33

Oh my god trix, what? What have they said to you? Oh, lovely, what a shock. What's the next step? Have you seen the foetal cardiologist? I know someone whose baby will need surgery shortly after birth. Terrifying, but there's so much they can do. Thinking of you x

cartoontrickster · 29/08/2016 07:01

They aren't sure at the moment, we have to go and see the consultant on Tuesday for another scan and go from there. The sonographer said it could just be that the position of baby ment they couldn't see properly but the midwife that was sent to speak to us said no there is something not quite right.

cartoontrickster · 29/08/2016 08:50

My notes say ' normal configuration of the great vessel not seen. The cardiac angle appears greater than 45 degree. Unable to obtain a standard 3vv.'

keepitgoing · 29/08/2016 11:20

Gosh Friday to Tuesday is a long time; when is it tomorrow? I hope you're OK and not googling too much

cartoontrickster · 29/08/2016 11:36

No, I've managed quite well not googling loads. Stupid bank holiday! So we are to turn up at half 12 tomorrow and will be seen when she can fit us in.

keepitgoing · 29/08/2016 12:36

Will be brooking for you lovely. Hope you've had an OK weekend despite it all

BeedlesPineNeedles · 29/08/2016 16:10

Brooking for you trix hope you don't have to wait around too long to be seen tomorrow.

OP posts:
ControlGeek · 29/08/2016 18:06

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow trix and brooking like billy-o that it was just down to not being able to get the right angle.

imps thanks for that link, very helpful. Most of my hats are too large, according to that site, and the only one that isn't is likely to be too small even for a preemie Shock

I wandered down the baby aisle in Morrisons today - the size of their newborn clothes! They're huuuuuge compared to the little jumper I've knitted. Oh dear, I think I need to adjust my expectations somewhat...

Imps9 · 29/08/2016 18:59

Oh Trix what a fright. Brooking so damned hard that the scan either shows that all is well, or at worst that all is not perfect but can either be repaired or left alone.
