I almost put this in arts and crafts, seeing as how we talk about crochet as much as we talk about babies!

Hi all, quick update. So G eventually made it to our local hospital and was so well it looked like he might be home for Xmas. Then the saturation of oxygen in his blood dropped at times (blue spells) so they put him on medication and he had to stay until he was big enough to have a stent put in. That happened a lot quicker than we all expectEd. He had it done not entirely straight forward but it went well and he came home. He was home for one week. Nurse came to monitor him after a few days and he was called in for a scan the next day as his sats were lower than expected they weren't overly worried gave us some medication and sent us on our way. This was fridan on Sunday we took him to a&e as he was blue and just didn't seem right. They kept him in and he deteriorated so was taken to Southampton as anew emergency sedated and ventilated the next evening. They thought his stent had crushed or moved and the guy was there ready waiting to put a new one in. They scanned him straight away and found that actually what had happened was that a muscle had grown over and was covering the bottom of the stent blocking it. There was no other option but emergency open heart surgery to remove the stent and put a patch in. Luckily the were able to keep him stable over night on maximum support as it is risky to do surgery in the middle of the nightime. He had it done first thing the next morning (tues) and is doing well he's not fully awake and still on a ventilator but he has opened his eyes a few times today.

Imps9 · 13/01/2017 11:37

Oh Trix bloody hell what a horrible experience to have to go to A&E when G was doing so well. I'm so pleased the surgery went well and that G is doing well too. Is it too soon to know when he'll be home for good? And how are you doing? I really really hope you're all doing well.

All good here. B-B is such a lovely chap. Chatting and smiling so much. Although his first swimming lesson on Weds didn't go well - it was my own fault really - I knew that he was tired as he hadn't napped properly in the morning and by the time I got his trunks on he started screaming because he was so tired. Tried to calm him down in the water, to no avail, so had to get out, get us both dressed and put him in the Ergo to go to sleep. Poor lad was beetroot colour from the screaming. Lesson well learned not to even attempt swimming if he's nap-deprived!

He will still only sleep on someone and in bed with me at night so we're carrying on with the bed-sharing and naps in the Ergo/on me. He'll be able to cope with being on his own when he's good and ready (if I ever let him leave the bed that is - I love sleeping next to him/falling asleep holding his hand).

Glad H has put on weight Geek. Would love to see an up to date photo. And of A too, Beedles. Felix is a very cute boy indeed Keep.

Loops what's the latest?

Imps9 · 13/01/2017 13:26

Oh I forgot to say that I did some crochet for this first time this week! I made B-B a hat with earflaps. It's easy to crochet when he's in his Ergo. Am delighted to have discovered this!

Imps9 · 13/01/2017 17:03

B-B's new hat (and his favourite sleeping position Grin). I think it needs a pompom.

ControlGeek · 13/01/2017 18:12

Oh crikey trix that's such a lot for you all to deal with, I hope G is on the road to recovery and that you are all doing ok despite all the worry Flowers

aww imps how adorable! I must look up what an ergo is, it sounds fab!

Here is H, I promise we have a proper moses basket for her too!

Imps9 · 14/01/2017 08:02

Baby in a washing basket!! Love it! She's a beaut, Geek. Can you believe she's here? Mr Imps and I are still confused as to how B-B came to be. We just lay there staring at him quite often when he's asleep creepy parents

The Ergo is the carrier you can see in the photo. Best thing we bought - I take B-B everywhere in it and he often naps for 1.5-2 hours at a time in it. If I put him in his cot/our bed for a nap, he either won't go to sleep, or if I move him to there when he's asleep he'll last maybe 20 mins before waking up. I go for the max sleep option, even if it is a bit inconvenient to wear him in the house sometimes.

Imps9 · 14/01/2017 08:05

Oh, and he really hates his pram! Went through a week-long phase of tolerating it over Xmas/New Year, but is back to crying after 5-10 mins in it now. I had no idea that some babies don't like prams!

ControlGeek · 14/01/2017 14:08

Ahh I use my sling in the same way as you use your ergo then imps, though I could probably use it a bit more to free me up a bit. H will only ever fall asleep on me or MrG, she bawls her little head off in the most heartbreaking way if we dare to put her in her moses basket, even after she's drifted off. She's alright in her pram, but I think that's because she likes the movement of it. She loves being in her car seat when the car's moving! She's just at the stage where she's discovered cuddly toys and is quite happy to be put on her play mat with a toy near by and she will coo for ages at it Grin

I totally get you about just staring at B-B while he sleeps. MrG and I have both stared at H to the point of tears. It really doesn't feel real still!

keepitgoing · 17/01/2017 12:41

Argh I fell off the thread!

trix how scary for you all. I hope he's on the mend now

imps f loves the ergo too. I find it hard to do up the back strap after he's in so do it up and slide him in the top, though that won't last for long. What do you do?
Annoying bb doesn't like the pram. F not a fan of sleeping in there but happy if awake so I've started taking him for walks when he's not tired, and he's getting better and did in fact fall asleep there at the weekend (till we got home..)

beedle glad all is good. F was v sleepy after first jabs

F now so shattered by evening so going down at 7. Of course this means less sleep for me as his longest chunk is then. Sleep getting a bit worse, the dreaded 4m regression aaaargh

geek she's so cute

My EC was almost exactly a year ago :)

Imps9 · 17/01/2017 14:53

Arrrrgh. Having a tricky few days with B-B to be honest. I know I said that he loves his Ergo, but the past 3 days he's taken to screaming his head off every time I put him in there until I'm able to get home and play him some white noise, or take him out and put him on the boob to calm him down. It's awful - today a patronising and interfering well-meaning couple even stopped me and asked me if I needed help calming him down Blush. I just want him to be content and not stressed but if he won't go out in his Ergo or in his pram then there's not much else I can do!

I'm very much hoping this is part of the 12 week developmental leap that babies have - crying, clinginess and crankiness are supposed to be symptoms of that. But I would have thought that carrying B-B on my chest would help with the clinginess, not make him scream Confused

Arrrrg.

Imps9 · 17/01/2017 14:55

Oh, and re: the back strap, I loosen the shoulder straps quite a lot so the back clip is right at the top of my neck, then put B-B in, do up the back clip and pull the shoulder straps to where I want them.

keepitgoing · 17/01/2017 16:11

Imps is he upset in there cos he wants to be awake and thinks you're trying to get him to sleep? F less keen on being in there during awake time now, and wriggles. Or overtired..? Who tf knows. Horrid to feel stuck in the house.

Someone told me to adjust f's hat the other day. It was fine. I glared at her. I hate people interfering, I mean what did they think they could do

X

keepitgoing · 17/01/2017 16:13

Last night f was so overtired at bedtime he cried and refused the boob! I was Hmm wtf Di I do so jiggled him till he was off. Refused the magic boob!!

Imps9 · 17/01/2017 17:02

I don't think that's it Keep - I just put a sleepy J in it and he screamed and screamed and screamed - proper red face, sweaty, teary screaming. It is awful. Like it's causing him physical pain. I really don't know what to do (other than to post a thread on MN which I might do).

ControlGeek · 18/01/2017 18:24

Oh Imps I'm sorry, I really shouldn't laugh, but... Grin I'm glad you've got it sorted now, and hopefully J will be back to being a happy Ergo-baby again too. It does remind me of our first day home with H, she was crying inconsolably despite having fed and slept and been rocked copiously. Then a lightbulb went on and I suddenly remembered that babies wear nappies...

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 20/01/2017 21:02

Feck and arse. Mumsnet just ate a long post and can't be arsed writing it all out again just yet. I'm here, I've lots of things going in our favour and due to ovulate sometime in the next week. Any proven tips to have a girl appreciated!

Also congrats to geek and sorry trix re G and hope recovery is quick and straightforward x

BeedlesPineNeedles · 23/01/2017 12:56

trix how terrifying for you all, hope everything is a bit calmer now. Is G home again yet?

imps glad you sorted the ergo problem :o

loopy good luck with the rat-smacking, i have no ideas on how to make a girl, but great that you're feeling excited about trying.

A had her first jabs last week, the nurse had a colleague to help her so they did both at exactly the same time. One huge, red faced scream was the result!

Cd17 today and woke up to lots of fertile mucus, and just got a very strong positive opk so not only is ovulation happening much earlier this cycle, but it's come from nowhere as I usually get 4 days of mucus before ovulation. And I used to ovulate much later than this, until the last 3 cycles when I ovulated on cd20/21. I normally ovulate within 24 hours of a positive OPK so assuming it will have popped by tomorrow.

So so hoping this works. We've both had the doxycycline for the infection picked up on the CD138 test from Coventry, the metformin is working very well, the levothyroxine has got my TSH down to 0.91, I'm now at the weight I was when I conceived both boys (still fat but 2 stone lighter than I was a year ago), I've been taking vit D and omega 3 and folic acid and NAC and coq10 since October and switched this month to taking the pregnacare with omega 3 to boost the vitamins even further, as per Shehata and as taking baby aspirin too. In a bid to boost chances of a girl I've also been taking calcium and magnesium supplements this week, eating lots of clementines and strawberries, drinking squash with aspartame in, and only on decaf tea and cut back on salty foods and dh cleared his tubes last weekend to get rid of old sperm. I've a big bag of pred and fragmin and progesterone ready to use. Just the small matter of DH managing to DTD now, he has issues when he knows it's the time of the month and he failed this morning so am really hoping he does better tonight!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 29/01/2017 09:51

Ooh loopy hope you managed some rat smacking! Good luck! I think I've also had some ewcm so maybe af is on her way back - just in time for your bfp.

Today I have managed to crochet a little, I started a blanket for A the day before she decided to arrive, I've just managed a tiny bit more. Maybe by the time it's finished she can use it as a dolls blanket!

Ooooh Loops you sound as prepared as a Boy Scout to catch and keep that egg. Fingers very crossed!!

Mr I and I have started rat smacking again with a view to TTC. Not that I'm dropping any eggs at the moment but we're having Sexy Time anyway. Will just see what happens!

Imps9 · 01/02/2017 13:26

What news Loops??

Just ordered a job lot of cheapie pee sticks off of EBay. Aaah it's like the good old days again Grin

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 01/02/2017 15:13

DH managed to DTD on Sat night.

Very oddly I also had a very positive OPk on Sunday as well and am as sure as I can be that I ovulated on both sides this month, which is definitely not normal for me (my right side very very rarely ovulated but I could feel both sides, and have had cramping in both sides since Monday). This is going to be a very long couple of weeks, waiting to see if anything successfully implants or not.

Trix how are things with you and your new baby?

Maybe/Geek/keep how are you all getting on?

Am I the only one left ttc?

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 01/02/2017 15:15

Sorry imps, my phone didn't load the posts just, it only loaded then once I posted my post!!

So I'm not the only one ttc lol! Are you EBF? How old is your baby now? I didn't get my AF back until 12 months after my boys were born, but some people get them sooner, especially if they cut back on BF'ing or wean.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 02/02/2017 13:34

Well done on the rat smacking loopy. How do you feel about twins? :o

imps how about some Irish twins for you!

Crocheting going well, but I'm not sure if this means she approves or wants me to stop :o
