I almost put this in arts and crafts, seeing as how we talk about crochet as much as we talk about babies!

Ooooh!!! Can I ask why Keep? Did you ask for one or do they often do them at 38 weeks?

What a coincidence Beedles - my boss has been a knob this week too. Silly knobby knobheads. V sorry about bleeding esp a scary gush. Are you still in hosp? I agree that three of us ought to aim for the same day to have our babies - you can cross your legs for a bit longer can't you Keep?

Loops have you had your Shehata appt yet? How has it been not trying? It's totally weird to try to ignore ovulation isn't it? It goes against all instincts.

Trix how are you? Is N sleeping better or still disrupted?

Oh re: names, across my and my friend's NCT groups there have been so far:

Jonah
Thea
Toby
Melody
Cosmo
Nora
Benjamin

if they give anyone any ideas. Beedles have you decided which surname Babybeedles will have yet? Are you tempted to go double-barrelled? Friends of ours seem to think that we should, but it would be such a mouthful I couldn't do that to Barry-Baxter, esp as he already has a double-barrelled first name.

keepitgoing · 23/09/2016 20:21

She just asked me if I wanted one, apparently they do them from 37 weeks, if the cervix etc is favourable, otherwise it's pointless anyway. Baby is v low down so I thought why not! Have had some contractions since but apparently that's normal doesn't nec mean it'll progress

Ooh the surname thing is interesting. I think I'd double barrel if we didn't have the same though of course it totally depends what they are. Poor barry-b...

keepitgoing · 23/09/2016 20:23

!

ControlGeek · 23/09/2016 20:55

Oh beedles how scary, even when you've been warned it can happen it doesn't stop that feeling of panic. Glad you are signed off now though. It really is a week of it, my boss's boss has been a knob this week too (though my direct boss is lovely).

Keep that's such a cracking bump! Hard to believe you won't have it for too much longer Grin I'm definitely not aiming to join in the triple whammy, far too early for me! Are you hoping for something to happen soon, or would you rather go to 40 weeks?

Some of my boys names were:

Gethin
Bryn
Llewellyn
Conor

And our favourite, Leonard (Leo).

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 23/09/2016 21:15

Hello everyone!

I got locked out again Hmm

Trix what an absolute crazy time you have been having. I'm so glad the news for baby is as good as you could have hoped for. It's amazing what they can do for cardiac things these days, I'm sure baby will be very well looked after. It must be so worrying though X

It is so nice seeing all these beautiful bumps. I can't wait to hear the news. Keep I was literally driving myself mad for the last month of being pg that something would go wrong at birth. For the last two weeks my midwife saw me twice a week because of my anxiety. The risk of anything going wrong is so so low but I know it's hard to put those fears to one side after what we have all been through

Beedle the bleeding sounds scary. It sounds like they are taking really good care of you though. How many weeks are you now? i absolutely love baby's room that you've decorated, so cool!

Imps (and everyone!) sorry to hear of the crap boss and work piling on. How many weeks have you got left before mat leave? I think a triple whammy baby sneeze sounds like an excellent idea!

Geek I'm so sorry to hear MrG is still poorly. I really hope you get to spend some quality time with your mum. MrG's son is so strange! It's lovely he's excited about the baby but surely he should be worried about his dad too?

I'll list all the boy names from my baby groups/nct to see if it give you any inspiration Keep!

Rory, Reuben, Harry, Zack, Seth, Benji, Cillian, Oscar, Jason, Jonah, Charlie, Oliver, Sam, Jamie and Noah

I personally think Zack goes well with Kip's name Wink

cartoontrickster · 23/09/2016 21:16

All Ok here N had a proper screaming meltdown in the middle of the night last night he does it Occasionally where nothing can calm him down you just have to let him get on with it until he calms down himself. Although I'd say things are getting a bit better.

beedles hope your ok and getting plenty of rest. Make the most of the time now before baby is born.

I like Louis but dh doesn't. Our girls name favourites are arrianne and lillana but I doubt we will ever use them now!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 24/09/2016 08:13

I got out yesterday afternoon :o but we were both so tired having slept really badly (the cannula in my arm was so uncomfortable). CS will be w/c 24th Oct, we should be told an exact date a bit closer to the time.

Has the sweep had any effect keep? Any sneezing feeling imminent?

geek I did think you'd rather keep geekling inside a little bit longer than another 4 weeks.

imps I had thought we should give babybeedle MrB's surname but he said he'd thought it should have mine (and then if we ever get married he'll change to my surname Shock ). We've also decided on middle names - both our dads' names if it's a boy and my middle name if it's a girl (which is also my mum's middle name). One of my nieces has my mum's name as a middle name so we didn't feel we needed to use it (plus mrb said he wasn't too keen on either my mum or his mum's name as a middle name for our child!) First names are a bit harder, but I have a little list!

Astrid, Maja, Matilda, Lyra
Oskar, Erik, Felix, Alex, Leo, Isak (I also quite like Zack!)

Though most of those names I liked to go with mrb's 3 syllable surname, mine's only 2 syllables so not sure if they sound too short.

cups lovely to see you (Z is looking so big now), I'm nearly 34 weeks now. The frequent checking we've had lately has certainly helped with my fear that something could still go wrong (even though I've hardly seen anything on 2 of the last 3 scans as I couldn't see the screen!)

OP posts:
Imps9 · 24/09/2016 08:52

Oooh your list is lovely Beedles! I love Astrid and Alex in particular but they're all fab. Does Mr B like them too?

Mr I and I have no intention of getting married (save for tax reasons when we're older perhaps romantic ) but even if we did I would keep my surname so we'd never have the same surname as a family. Our friends refer to us as the "[His surname]-[My surnames]s" so they'll carry on doing that with B-B. We just don't have it as our official surname.

Hopefully a better night for N and for you Trix?

Cups it's always lovely when you pop in. How old is Z now?

Beedles my due date is 25 Oct so a double-whammy at least is looking possible! How are you feeling about the CS? Hopefully you will be able to make it to the rest of your antenatal classes - how many more are there?

Imps9 · 24/09/2016 10:27

Actually, no they don't - they refer to us as the "[my surname]-[his surname]s". D'oh.

Am assuming that you're in the midst of a sneeze birth Keep. Hope all's going well.

Imps9 · 24/09/2016 11:14

Gah on the way to spend a few hours with the in laws. FIL is bound to make loads of comments about my bump shape and size. Urgh I hate it so much but will just have grin and bear it I suppose.

keepitgoing · 24/09/2016 12:44

Ooh I absolutely LOVE Ingrid! Hope you had a good night's sleep.

geek no I've no desire to get to 40 weeks, any time now would be fine, esp as my mum has come to stay for the weekend, it'd be quite handy...

trix sorry to hear of n's screaming fit, sometimes you can only ride it out can't you...

I had some contractions yesterday evening but they went off in the bath, so clearly just caused by the procedure. Have also lost some of my show. Nothing exciting though, grr. Will go for a walk after our naps

keepitgoing · 24/09/2016 14:15

I meant I love Astrid, though actually Ingrid v good too!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 25/09/2016 08:43

Beedles I absolutely love your name list. They are all great! I don't know why but I thought you and MrB were married. I just thought you were one of those cool women that keep your own name Smile hope you've caught up on your sleep

Z is 15 months now. He's a loud, fast crazy ball of energy. He's a climber and a good one at that. I've turned around to find him standing on the arm of a poang chair. I nearly had a heart attack! I've been back at work 3 months. It's fine being back but Z keeps making us all ill with his nursery bugs. I've been off so much and I've also needed to pick him up from nursery early a lot. Work have been fine so far but I can tell people are getting fed up of covering for me. It's hard juggling it all.

I've completely forgot what else anyone said!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 25/09/2016 08:47

Ooh keep! Exciting stuff! Am I right in thinking Kip came a few weeks early and labour came on quick? Hope this little one doesn't keep you waiting much longer!

Trix the screaming is awful. Z still wakes a few times a night. He is so difficult to comfort, nothing works. Well apart from feeding him Sad hope you had a better night last night

BeedlesPineNeedles · 26/09/2016 10:45

cups I'm sure we will get married at some point, but it all seems too much effort at the moment!

It's effectively my first day of maternity leave today, though I'm actually on sick leave for the next 4 weeks. It feels kind of strange, I'm not sure I'm ready for this yet. There's loads of things I'd like to do around the house, but I'm scared I will bleed again. So I'm just sat on the sofa doing not very much.

OP posts:
Imps9 · 26/09/2016 14:03

Oh Beedles it must be really frustrating to feel sofa bound when there's inevitably lots still to be done. But some good crochet time to be had, surely? What are you working on at the moment? Can we have a photo?

Just waiting for my 36 week MW appt - it's at the birth centre today and we get get a tour of all the facilities as part of the appointment. This shit is getting real.

keepitgoing · 26/09/2016 20:57

Baby boy born after a sneeze this morning. 7lb4, we are home and feeding etc. Will tell all when I have more energy but it was all lovely

ControlGeek · 26/09/2016 21:03

OMG Keep that is amazing news! Congratulations Flowers Flowers Flowers

cartoontrickster · 26/09/2016 21:32

Yay! Congratulations. How wonderful to have one of each!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 26/09/2016 21:59

Oh Keep yay!!!! So pleased for you. Hope you are having some much deserved rest X

Imps9 · 26/09/2016 22:01

OH MY GOODNESS AMAZING!!!! I did wonder if things were moving given lack of posts today. Well done Keep and congrats to all the Keep family. HURRAH!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/09/2016 07:16

Congratulations keep Flowers So pleased for you all :o I was also wondering about lack of posts from you yesterday!

I got a whole load of stuff through the post yesterday about my CS, including a health questionnaire which asks if I am or could be pregnant :o, and an entire A4 sheet with instructions on when and how to shower before the op!

OP posts:
ControlGeek · 27/09/2016 08:20

Hope you're getting plenty of rest and newborn snuggles keep, I'm glad he didn't keep you waiting the full forty!

beedle sorry you're not able to make the most of your signed-off time, it must be very frustrating. You're doing the right thing though, is MrB being super helpful? I love your name list.

Is anyone else feeling that it's all getting a little bit real now that one of us has sneezed?

I had my first growth scan yesterday, Geekling's measuring a little big (quite a lot big actually) and is transverse, feet down. We have seen with her own eyes that she really is playing trampolines with my bladder! I have to have a GTT asap (waiting for the appointment call today) and another growth scan in 2 weeks rather than 4 which I'd already booked. Picture for your enjoyment. My DM can't see a baby, just Yoda, Kermit, a puppy and an owl GrinGrinGrin

The one where the BROOKERS make babies and blankets and hats and other crochet stuff!
Imps9 · 27/09/2016 11:10

Are you pregnant Beedles??? I didn't realise!

Keep can't believe that you're not pregnant anymore. Hope BabyBoyKeep is both a) well; and b) with a name (or are you still deliberating?)

The tour/MW appt was good yesterday - think it brought it all home to Mr I that things are genuinely happening soon. The birth centre is fab - a pool in each room, super-king sized beds that partners can sleep overnight in (there are no visiting hours for partners - they can stay 24 hours a day for however long mum/baby is in hospital), DAB radio, iPod docking station, coloured lighting etc. Hopefully there will be no complications so we can stay in the Birth Centre - if there are problems we'll have to go to the delivery unit which isn't quite as nice.

Imps9 · 27/09/2016 11:11

Geek do they think that Geekling may be big because of diabetes? Good that you will have more scans - I know how much you like a scan Wink Grin
