Vagndidit · 12/07/2016 19:22

Admittedly I struggled to see the line on the very first test you posted yesterday, but your most recent is clear as day :) Congrats to you, Mama!!

SirPugalug · 12/07/2016 19:26

Awwww congratulations!!

Gaspard · 18/07/2016 21:46

Aw! Couldn't see the lines at all on the first two so said nothing - dodgy eyesight anyway. How exciting!

Hi all.....
So I've had some pretty sad news. The dr called me on Monday and told me that she doesn't expect this pregnancy to last due to low hgc levels. I was tested the day after my bfp (Wednesday) and the levels were just 25. Had more blood taken on the Friday and they had risen to 42. Doctor called me on Monday and told me to expect the worst and a miscarriage. She wants to take more blood on Monday but isn't hopeful. And neither am I now.

Has anyone else gone through this? I have no idea what to expect and when to expect the bleeding to start? I had a pink smudge when I wiped on a few days ago but NOTHING at all since. I feel like it's just torture at the moment. Stuck in some shitty limbo waiting for the worst to happen. Was given the best news ever and within a week it was all taken away from me. Eurgh. Sorry for the rambling.......just having a rant and feeling pretty sorry for myself!

Oh bean Flowers so sorry to hear you're going through this.

I haven't had that happen to me - have had the bleeding at the beginning of pregnancy but no hcg level testing.

I don't know if this is good advice or bad but I can only tell you what I would do - which is buy a digital test which tells you how far along you are..that might indicate whether the pregnancy is continuing according to their levels. So you would be more like 3-4 weeks on that...again that might be terrible advice, hoping someone else will come along to help soon.

CmereTilliTellYa · 23/07/2016 20:06

Yes I've been through this thebean and so has a friend of mine. For me it wasn't good news and it was a chemical pregnancy. I started to bleed about a week and a half after finding out I was pregnant, just lightly and went for blood tests. My levels were low and got lower the next time I was tested so it was clear it wasn't working out. For my friend though it was a different story she has slow rising levels initially and was very worried but they did pick up and all was fine.

It's very very hard waiting to find out what is happening, particularly so when it doesn't work out. I hope it is good news for you.

Gardencentregroupie · 23/07/2016 20:15

Tbh I'm surprised the doctor was so negative. A hcg level of 25 the day after a positive test seems about right to me, assuming you ovulate late. A hcg level of 42 isn't far off doubling in 48 hours, hcg levels would be expected to double over 48 to 72 hours. You appear to me to be within the normal range for very early pregnancy. I would take the repeat test and see how it goes. Flowers good luck, this is tough for you.

Thebean123 · 23/07/2016 20:29

Thanks for your replies ladies I appreciate the input. Well my doctor said she expected my hgc levels to be in the thousands so when they were 42 I assumed her negativity was justified? I don't really know much about these things as I'm childless at the moment. I have just resigned myself to the fact that I will be miscarrying any day now. It's a torturous wait.........:/

Agree with Garden, it doesn't sound hopeless, hopefully it's just a negative doctor. Good luck I hope all is ok.

Elllicam · 23/07/2016 20:33

If you didn't get a bfp until 6 days late that would seem to indicate you ovulated late. Were you ovulation testing?

Thebean123 · 23/07/2016 20:34

Elllicam......no I wasn't really tracking anything. I roughly guessed where I was ovulating and most fertile and that happened to be when we were away for a weeks break and being extra "loving" ;) ha! I didn't really think about it and tested expecting to see negative and my period! Then all of this happened.......my last period was 9th June x

OP posts:
Gardencentregroupie · 23/07/2016 20:37

Your hcg would be in the thousands if you were several weeks pregnant. I'm guessing the doctor was going by your last period. However you only had the faintest of faint lines a couple of days before the test so I would guess you had a strange cycle and ovulate much later than normal, so you are only in the very early stages going by ovulation date. Dating by period is a bit useless for cycles that aren't exactly 28 days. I'm not promising anything but going by your dates and numbers I definitely don't think all is lost yet.

Elllicam · 23/07/2016 20:39

I don't think all is lost either, will keep everything crossed for you.

Thebean123 · 23/07/2016 20:40

I so hope that you're right and that by some miracle by Tuesday afternoon (when I have mondays hgc test results back) they have jumped into the thousands and all is well. But if not I just want to get this mc or bleed over and done with. I can't stand the waiting and not knowing. Surely I should have miscarried by now??????

OP posts:
Gardencentregroupie · 23/07/2016 20:46

Tbh your hcg levels could still be below 1000 on Monday if they're doubling every 72 hours, which would be perfectly normal. Do you mind if I ask whether you're in the UK?

Ilikegin · 23/07/2016 20:49

Mine looked like that after two weeks conception OP I went out and about a digital one which said 1-2 weeks pregnant rather than trying to see the very faint line! I then dos another two just to be sure!!! Grin

Ilikegin · 23/07/2016 20:52

Sorry I jumped the gun a bit I didn't see some posts! I hope it works out for you OP! Flowers

Thebean123 · 23/07/2016 20:53

Yes gardencentregroupie......I'm in the uk. Thing is I got the impression that my dr has already decided this pregnancy is doomed. I asked her when I was to expect the mc bleed and she said if it doesn't occur naturally then she will refer me on to be medically managed and induced into mc. If the levels aren't in the 1000's I feel like she wants to take that next step

Keeping everything croseed for you and hoping for good news xxx

Gardencentregroupie · 23/07/2016 20:56

Wtf??? Is this your gp? How weird that she's talking medical management for a very early pregnancy with utterly normal hormone levels. Honestly the range of normal hcg levels is massive:

3 weeks
0 to 5

4 weeks
5 to 426

5 weeks
18 to 7,340

6 weeks
1,080 to 56,500
