Hi everybody,

Hope we're all OK! CD12 just had my second acupuncture. Hoping it gets my ovaries releasing a good egg!! He had a woman in this morning who had been trying for ages, and is now 6 weeks. Said my next app will be the most important to keep progesterone up if we were successful, so booked again for Weds. Will keep it up in the early stages of pregnancy when it happens, as I'm anxious about hanging on to a pregnancy!!

Anyone testing soon??

Footy wouldn't take any notice of a dip at 5dpo. So many things can affect it, and still above coverline.

Just booked my first acupuncture sesh tee this Wednesday eek. Does it matter what cd you are on? Great to hear the good news story from them. I've read lots of good things.

Hope temp pops back footy. Fertile week we are covered - I am going with him on his work trip to NYC at the weekend. Not letting him get away this time! Haha.

Mimi, what dosage are you on? I didn't get any side effects first 2 cycles apart from ovaries having a good grumble to each other and only this cycle (which is cycle off clomid) I have had hot flashes every now and then. So hoping you don't get any side effects. Also just a little tip.. It made me ovulate v early - first cycle was day 11/12 and then 8/9. It's not that common but to just warn you. So for the first month maybe start early just incase. X

Jem, my first was The day before AF arrived (expected CD1). You've just finished AF right? Think that could be an excellent time to get started! I imagine they'll suggest you come back around ovulation which I assume would be a week or so later for you??
DH cried off DTD last night annoyingly. We had DTD Saturday night and yesterday morning, so I guess that still counts as daily. Tried an opk randomly last night and it was super peak, test line way darker than control. Bad time to get rejected tho after that! In fairness it seems like he has a tiny tear in an intimate place from our holiday baby dancing! Am I mean to expect him to solider through?!
I think I ovulated today or will be overnight/early tomorrow xx

CD 2. No more temping or opks for 3 months. Will see if Sod obeys his law...

Might try acupuncture, though once term starts, I won't have any time (to dtd let alone keep appointments!).

I am starting Agnus Castus, but that is more to help with the tender boobs pms situation. Will stop that after two weeks (I tend to ov a bit later so hopefully no overlap). Also started low dose iron supplements as I've read many with sub-fertility suffer from slightly low iron, though they don't go so far as to recommend it for everyone ttc. Most vits are just wee'd out anyway, so my wee must be pretty expensive!

Used to have thyroid issues, so might see if I can get that checked as weight is not coming off despite some actual effort.

Hey Footy! A dip at 5 DPO is fine I always find - It's only one temp & it's still above coverline so definitely stay positive!

I wonder if anyone can help/heard of cycles becoming shorter?
In May I had a 30 day cycle
In June it was 29 days
In July it was 28 days
This month 27 days!!!!

What is going on?! I have Googled but not found anything.

Next cycle we're taking a relaxed approach (more by default!) we'll only get to DTD the day before ovulation (if it's on CD 15 again) so maybe we'll get lucky - it worked for purple .

Hope acupuncture goes well Tee & Jem, pleaseeee bring us back some BFP!! I'm definitely considering it. First I'm going to see what this month brings then I may sign up too.

Arrrrggghhh! DH is on DTD strike as of CD11 pm
He's not gonna budge, absolutely won't do anything now while he's 'sore' and thinks I'm out of order for expecting him to. I'm so frustrated after £90 of acupuncture this month, feels like such a waste, although I know technically there's a chance if I ovulate CD12 (today) or tomorrow, that CD11 (am) swimmers will still be hanging around. Just not hopeful because that's been our pattern all these months (concentrating on early CD days pre ov and neglecting the later ones) and I really wanted to DTD right through until much later this time. Really gutted. Already looking ahead at my potential September fertile window

Sorry for your disappointment Busta, it's so hard isn't it. I hope you get somewhere with the Docs. Haven't heard of s decreasing cycle pattern! x

Tee don't panic there is plenty of sperm up there and they survive up to 5 days. It's best to have it there ready and waiting before egg comes .

It may have nothing to do with it that this has been your pattern until now, it could be pure chance.

If he really won't DTD then don't worry tonight, try again tomorrow.

It sounds awful but when I've cried in the past DH has ended up talking me into DTD as he sees how much it means to me and wants to make up. Does your OH understand how much this means to you and how much this is upsetting you? Maybe a snuggle up to him in the night might work?

Oh Jem I really hope so. DH is really not understanding at all. He makes me feel like an idiot for caring so much. He knows I'm upset but he just laughs it off as me being silly. I was feeling so positive and content about this months plans and now I just feel negative and stressed which doesn't help the whole process. I don't think he will be obliging at all this week. So I just have to hope the swimmers survive even tho I didn't see hardly any ewcm between last DTD and now. Also took my temp this morning as a one off in the hope to see a spike, but it was super low, so more than likely not ovulated yet. I feel like crying. I'm so mad at him and he just swans around without a care in the world and tells me I'm out of order.

Sorry busta for your disappointment. Don't worry about length of cycles. My gyne told me that a woman's ovulation day will vary within a few days each month. He explained that if you ovulate at 2am say one month on cd14, and then 2pm the next cycle on same day it can add a day to your cycle. He said as long as luteal phase is not shorter than 9 after you ovulate. I was concerned about my cycle length last few cycles of 23- he wasn't concerned at all- just said I ovulate early.

I found an old filofax of mine and had a chart of my cycle lengths as well as period dates from 2006/7 they ranged from 27-31 up and down over the year. Then I fell pregnant.. Took me a year exactly! I was stressed out, worked to hard, lost my Nan, lots of drunken nights and did it once that cycle. Crazy!!

Tee- I totally understand you as my DH also on strike! Seems to be on his terms.
They just don't get the emotional connection and feel our level of disappointment.
I tried doing the daily thing with him before but he burns out around the same time. They have no stamina for goodness sake. You'd think they would feel blessed and enjoy lots of sexy time!
DH and i are only just on speaking terms nothing else so I'm fed up too. Glad the way things worked out that I didn't waste the clomid this cycle as the deeds were minimal at the start of cycle then only once when I think I ovulated. So not holding my breath..
If he is sore - maybe suggest a lube ? Or next time just put some on without him knowing. The gyne recommended it as told me I should dtd every other day so he must have heard of complaints of dryness or soreness with friction being so active.
I suppose there's nothing you can do now unless he feels the guilt later?! Maybe go baby shopping? Buy lots of babygro's etc.. Soft toys and maternity wear? Baby and pregnancy magazines and catalogues? He might think you've totally lost the plot, but will know how badly you want it.

When the time is right all it takes in one swimmer in the right place. That could be from having sex once.

I will remind myself of this when I'm around ovulation!

tee I hope he comes round. It seems unlikely to go from all to nothing completely? Second what footy said about preseed. Don't feel like your efforts have been wasted, the acupuncture is helping your body get ready for it, whether it's this cycle or an upcoming one.

Day 7 over here and no DTD at all yet! Having a very lazy cycle. He gets back tomorrow so I reckon back on it - if he's willing!

I think you're right, probably the most harm I'm doing is all this stressing about it. He basically reckons he has a tiny tear which is why it's gone from all to nothing. I just wish he was at least more sympathetic and understanding. He's just told me to chill out and do it whenever. Next cycle there won't be any action until the crucial time! It's not worth the risk of him burning out when it matters. My acupuncturist said I should definitely try last night and tonight. Doubt we'll manage either. Sorry for being a whinge bag, and thank you for your words of hope! I'm sure it'll end up happening on the cycle it seems most unlikely. Just annoying I had my heart set on this new tactic!
Jem I reckon you're on track. Hopefully DH will be chomping at the bit by now, and great to start getting active after your first acupuncture session. I'm sure being in New York will help spice things up and secure the deal for you!
Footy sorry your DH is not being very supportive either. I totally agree it all seems on their terms. It's very frustrating, plus we have the added pressure of trying to keep them sweet despite feeling annoyed.
I need to think up a way of getting some action tonight, feel like that will give me a bit of extra hope for this cycle! I suggested a bit of lubrication, but he dismissed any suggestions I made telling me it was out of the question. I think if I bought baby stuff it would put him off more!!

I can see why he would be put off if there's a tear, but could it just be soreness from doing it loads ? Surely if you are gentle and use lube he would be fine...

Jeez it is roasting isn't it?! We're up in our new loft bedroom now, and it's true heat rises! Lovely with windows open both sides tho. Managed to get DH to cooperate, hallelujah! Perhaps I was panicking prematurely My fertility graph looks pretty healthy now I've plotted the DTD dates in Ovia.... the CD11 heart should be a bit closer to CD10 heart tho, as that was a morning session. The green area is fertile zone and yellow line indicates fertility, this is all assuming I ovulated today tho. I'll take my temp tomorrow again in hope of the spike! Then the thermometer is getting locked away!

Thanks for the info Footy, but I'm worrying as my LP is a day shorter - they say it should always stay the exact same... I definitely ovulated on CD 15 (temping) then got AF after 12 LP days, not the 13 I always normally have. Just feels like something else to screw me over

Here here to the lazy cycle Jem! I've been pushing DH the last few cycles so I'm leaving it up to him to make the first moves this time (all bar the day before ovulation) perhaps if he's already in the mood of his own accord then his sperm will be a bit more willing to fertilise my egg

Yep, this is cycle 12 Jem, I've actually been DTD with no contraception since April last year, but because I didn't get AF back until September last year that's what I count as a year...

I just hope she can help. But I'm already thinking the worst

I know it's hard not to worry but do remember it's not abnormal to take this long.

If you google 'cycle 10/11/12 ttc' lots of threads come up with people saying it took me 11,12,13,15,18 months etc with nothing wrong. It's so frustrating.

Hi ladies, haven't been here for a while as it wasn't anything worth reporting.
Cycle #4 - Another BFN. Keep seeing my acupuncturist twice a month. She recommended to add Aspirin 75mg to my never ending collection of vitamins/pills list.

So, today is CD10 and of cycle #5. Still sticking to SMEP plan and started using Conceive Plus lubricant.

And thinking of plan B, C and so on.

I'm thinking for next cycle to go for IUI. I'll already made preparations for it. And if this cycle doesn't work then I'll be flying home to get it done. It's in Riga. The actual insemination is only €285! My DH's sperm is already in their freezer. I'll probably need a couple of examinations prior to the actual procedure. But the whole lot won't cost more than €500-600!
And if I'd go for London clinic, I was told it would be around £1500-2000! Insane! Even with the flights it would cost much less to get it done there! Plus they know me there and I could see my dad and brother.

So, we'll see what this cycle brings.
